Fighting Fake News with REAL 4/1/22; Privatising the Public Service; RATs

ATO, tax, outsourcing

Where the LNP government and it's advisors grow the independant non-politicized Public Service shrinks. The government intentionally appoints its monkeys to best deliver and execute it's plans while always saying "they don't hold the hose" They only hold the rewards.

There are few government agencies which have escaped the privatisation fetish of the Coalition. Callum Foote and Michael West report on the hypocrisy of the “personal responsibility” mantra amid concerns raised by Australian Tax Office insiders over the surging use of external consultants and lawyers.

China has administered 2 billion COVID-19 vaccine shots

A stockpile of COVID-19 rapid antigen tests on display at Southon’s Chemist in Sydney.

"We follow the science says Morrison" While still caught undersupplying the nation with test kits. "Some people can afford to pay some can't" said Morrison

The Morrison government refuses to buy kits for widespread use, despite public health experts saying they are vital in the future pandemic battle.

Morrison said this wouldn't happen. Revenge on "marriage equality"" Stuff the referendum we are reversing the result by law to suit less than 10% of Australians who vote for us " Morrison's Religious Discrimination Law brings us back to Go where you  don't collect $200" Marriage Equality removed hate Morrison reintroduced it

The Sydney Anglican Diocese said Steph Lentz was dismissed because she believed Christians should be able to enter same-sex relationships.

Religious Freedom or the Freedom to Discriminate ? - The AIM Network

The LNP wants to shut down the ABC and control the Internet because when it comes to Democracy they level the playing field. “Bias” and “Trolling” are their euphemisms for “fact-checking” and the “public auditing” of their message. A message controlled and fed to us by our over-concentrated and consolidated private media begging for the financial benefits and rewards on offer by the LNP at the taxpayer’s expense. They want MPs to be able to sue and defend themselves in defamation actions at taxpayer expense as well to be “untouchables” as if their current parliamentary privilege wasn’t enough.

They claim to be the party of “free speech” but are rather the party of privatized and commodified speech or cash for comment and they have the cash and it’s ours. They have just increased government debt from $300M to almost $1 Tr or 200% of which private media compete for a part while keeping the ABCs Budget at 1984 levels. Now they want to control the Broadband and Internet as well.

Everybody needs high-speed internet. But private corporations will never provide it. The solution: treat internet infrastructure as a public utility, funded by the public and built by union workers.

Scott Morrison backs Ivan Milat to run in Warringah as ‘recognisable name’

“We really just want a household name on the ballot sheet"

Australia election campaign, government efficiency

With an election looming, the Coalition government will attempt to recultivate its image as the party for efficient government, and Labor as the party of bureaucratic red tape. Callum Foote investigates how the government has been run.

Morrison Pascoe

Funny thing about the federal government’s orchestrated multiple “Gladys for Warringah” media moments: They weren’t really about a former Liberal premier perhaps running for a former Liberal prime minister’s seat. They were about lessening the damage Scott Morrison is suffering from telling lies and running what is arguably the most corrupt Commonwealth government in our 120 years of federation.

Fighting Fake News with REAL 10/11/21; Privatisation, Australia comes Last = THE MORRISON EFFECT, The Shovel;

Gina Rinehart and Clive Palmer – who already own the National Party – have expressed interest in increasing their overall share

News Corp posts $61m loss, announces plans to sell off Australian Government

Sydney Airport takeover, ASX, Ausnet

Morrison’s we do nothing Mantra sure fits.

The takeover bid for Sydney Airport all but done, a takeover frenzy grips the sharemarket. Investors, foreign and local, know Australian governments are an easy touch, that they allow their citizens to be pillaged, that some of them actually believe the bankers’ myth that privatisation means efficiency. Michael West reports.

 Short term fix

The pandemic has increased inequality. Yet corporate welfare runs amok. Treasurer Josh Frydenberg squandered $40 billion in the biggest transfer of wealth yet from Australian taxpayers to large corporations in history.

This is not a capitalist government, this is crony capitalism where policy is increasingly in hoc to foreign corporate players. Regulation has failed, yet free markets have failed too. Nonetheless, a tamed media trots out the privatisation and “free markets” propaganda while the central bank prints hundreds of billions of dollars to keep the money swishing about at the top of town.

And how it has done that. The money showered on corporate Australia – indeed by foreign governments too via QE – along with a surge in asset prices, has unleashed a takeover frenzy like never before. Some of it is trickling down to our superannuation accounts, for now, but when that party ends, Australia will emerge with a more concentrated, more powerful corporate sector running the show which we call government.

 THE MORRISON EFFECT

Australia’s climate policies have been ranked last out of 64 countries and the nation among the worst offenders for emissions, renewables and energy use.

Scott Morrison: A lonely man with an empty plan

Like everything he does Morrison won't read, hear or abide by any criticism of himself. What he feels will always be practiced compartmentalization with moments of anger. But he's always present and ready for a photoshoot as long as it's his full time camera man, "nothing candid allowed". Then, like the organ grinder's monkey, he'll perform the trusted and oiled scripts handed him along with some tried and true deflections like "don't agree with your premise". Morrison seems to apply those deflections more than most.\ Everything that happened yesterday stays in yesterday while tomorrow well that simple and generally dictated by the context and those that pay. If "doing is being" Morrison does very little but says a lot because his ship has become the SS Scandals, and baling the primary work of it's crew.

After looking lost amongst global peers at the G7 earlier this year, the Prime Minister took his “plan” to Glasgow via Rome to have another go at grand diplomacy.

Fake News and Misinformation exposed

GOOD LUCK WITH THE TICKETS

Andrew Bolt is entitled to his opinion but a phishing excercise to sell subs? Firstly it makes him look like a dutiful News Corp sock puppet rather than a aficionado or director of an Opera Company . He's an elitist a snob preaching down rather than having an eye to eye conversation with VOC.

Did anyone notice Bolt's voice at the forefront of the poor treatment given the Arts by the LNP  during the pandemic? The VOC cancelled it's 2021 season. Obviously JobKeeper had no place for them. I certainly didn't hear Bolt praised for speaking out on their behalf. Yet here he is trying to use them to catch a sub or two for his benefit with his sudden obscure comments suggesting that he knows better on how to run the VOC. It seems the operas chosen aren't to his taste. As if we don't know about opera in Australia. What an aloof self-serving snob he is. You won't hear a peep out of Bolt if this VOC 2022 season is a success will we? No apology that he was blowing smoke that's for sure.

How very Victoria today: politics above the public. Victorian Opera artistic director Richard Mills: "The last thing I want to see is another Madama Butterfly... It comes back to this idea of what does an arts company do? Is it part of the national conversation about who we are as a people?" Good luck with the operas he's chosen.

Fighting Fake News with REAL 29/10/20; Years of Privatisation; Net-Zero Emissions, Industry & Gov Policies

Despite health and community services being largely government-funded, three out of four workers are privately employed.

See what’s happened? With some help from their rivals, the Libs have worked tirelessly over the past 25 years moving workers from the Labor public tribe to the Liberal private tribe. Haven’t you noticed the big improvement?

Net-zero emissions drive puts Australian industry on notice

The pressure on Australia is indisputable. In a Tuesday night call, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson reportedly called on Scott Morrison to "act boldly" on climate change and stressed the need for ambitious targets to reach net-zero carbon emissions.

'Our policies won't be set in the UK': Australia defies international pressure on emissions targets

They have been gaming the terget figures since Kyoto int spinning their image as a responsible global nation. However neither the world nor the the electorate believes anything they say when the their lips move. They merely doing the bidding of their donors. Today 80 % of Australians believe in and want to see government effort in real change to fossil fuel reduction and clean energy and not the tokenism and lip service provided by Scotty from Marketing

FAKE NEWS

'MUSSOLINI MEETS FRANKENSTEIN': ABC GOES FERAL ON DONALD TRUMP

COLUMN In 40 years of journalism, I’ve never seen a TV station show such unhinged hatred as the ABC showed on Monday for Donald Trump. Two weeks ago, ABC deputy chair Kristin Ferguson tweeting that Trump was “immoral, criminal”, and now the ABC's two top current affairs shows call him worse in 90 minutes of deranged abuse.

12/10/2016 Andrew Bolt wrote that Trump wasn't fit to be President in full agreement with the ABC he never complained about the opinions of 80% of the Australian population back then he agreed despite the fact that he sided with Republican Politics. Trump was immoral and criminal and Bolt the "suck" he is has changed. He now believes Trump is simply a misunderstood version of George Pell and ought to be treated as a misunderstood saint.

The whole world is insane then because of it's dislike of Trump and Trumpism, according to Andrew Bolt. One thing Trump has done however he's de-mythologized the Presidency and helped Americans see what Democracy isn't. He's popped the American Dream and divided the country. When private corporate media become concentrated, propagandists spinning PR for payola to influence the electorate rather than inform then without the counterbalance of a publicly owned broadcaster like the ABC one only gets the top down view of the world and not necessarily an account of reality based on verifiable data and evidence.

Bolt whinged and whined that Dan Andrews approach the COVID was wrong and Trump's far better. Trump's chaos was better but it's the electorates choice. But it wasn't the electorate was with Dan science and real data verified and delivered by real journalism not blindly but always questioned. It stood out over Bolt's opinion and raised the bar to avoid anything goes chaos Bolt loves to play in simply because he has a resource and a platform to sell. His falling ratings show he's simply not very good at what it is he does. He basked in the sun for his 15 seconds of fame when Abbott was around.

NORE INFECTIONS, FEWER DEATHS

Rarely mentioned in the panic reporting - more coronavirus infections, but fewer deaths: "On May 31, global cumulative cases were approx 6,000,000 and deaths approx 400,000 — a death rate of 0.07.  Today, cumulative cases are approx 43,000,000 and deaths approx 1,000,000 — a death rate of 0.02. " More tests? Better treatment? Less deadly mutation?

Bolt hasn't a clue it seems. So there's no reason to subscribe. However the fact is Dan Andrews solved the problem with better management and the US and the EU are looking at us with envy and are adopting and or calling for our approach. There is no grounds to believe the virus is weaker we are more immune that it doesn't have long term consequences science is discovering more each and every day. The more knowledge the less guessing out weighs the costs Bolt's short term thinking keeps bleeding about. It certainly shows his form of individulism and free market doesn't work.

FREEDOM IN MELBOURNE! IT FEELS SO ... UNFREE

COLUMN Wednesday was freedom day in Melbourne! More than three months of lockdown ended and it felt so … not much.  Didn't feel like Sydney, for a start, which has got about the same level of infections and more people in hospital. Which tells us that Daniel Andrews still doesn't have faith in being able to do the basics.

Bolt doesn't mention the rest of the world isn't looking at Sydney but is looking at Melbourne and Morrison is trying to grab as much of the glory he can from ir. Bolt's life hasn't been that handicapped. He lifestyle remained relatively unchanged. We came to realis just how unessential it is what he does and how over paid he is for doing it. He's a failing cash and unnecessary and more and more unwanted drawcard that was nurtured by the ABC . Without the ABC he'd have been less noticed.

BIDEN STUMBLES. DOES AMERICA DESERVE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS?

No wonder Joe Biden limits his public appearances. He once again can't finish a sentence, and aides rush in to usher away the camera. Watch. So Kamala Harris will become president of the United States? Really?

Personal fact yes Biden has had a stutter for 47 years that's of major consequence to Bolt who amplifies Greta's Aspergers Adam Goodes Blackness. Trump can't have a normal conversation with anyone without rushing away from the cameras but that's OK. Bolt's simply doing a Trump incapable of logically debating what is being said he like DJT attacks the man. Dr Mary Trump would declare Andrew Bolt shares the same pathological personality traits as her uncle. He has an inability to recognize the other, an inability to admit he's ever wrong, and simply is incapable of uniting a room.

What make Andrew Bolt believe President Pence would be better than President Harris anyway?

Being Old Turned Out to Be a Plus for Joe

The conventional wisdom was that age would hinder Biden but it’s turned out to be a secret weapon, one of several that’s made him the front-runner.
