Fighting Fake News with REAL, 24/4/21; Morrison might have a 2050 climate emissions target in 2050 but will remain an "on the water matter"

Morrison promises he might or might not have a target by 2050

Morrison's climate summit speech soaked in snake oil

Minister Scott Morrison’s rant at President Joe Biden’s climate summit last night was one of the worst performances I have ever seen.

Technical glitches and the dreaded mute button were the least of Morrison’s worries, as he mounted the (virtual) stage, armed with three-word slogans, self-congratulations, and downright dodgy greenhouse gas emission numbers.

Most major nations before him (and there were many) had pledged stronger climate targets or concrete policies to curb carbon pollution.  Japan and Canada vowed significant increases on their 2030 targets. India and the Republic of Korea announced new partnerships with the United States. Even Brazil, a highly problematic country in the climate space, announced it would advance its carbon neutrality target by a decade.

In contrast, Morrison’s speech was heavy on bluster, light on policy. No new commitments were brought to the table, further cementing Australia’s inadequate Paris target of a 26-28 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. Then like the dinner guest that turns up to a pot-luck empty-handed and complains about what others have brought, Morrison dismissed the serious efforts of other nations whilst offering nothing himself.

Former prime minister Kevin Rudd has welcomed an on-air apology from Sky News commentator Peta Credlin.

The former PM confirmed the apology, which Ms Credlin delivered on her show on Monday night, was part of a defamation settlement.

I bet Credlin didn't mention that nor did any other Murdochian (ODT)

As record debt under the Morrison Government spirals to new heights, perhaps the Coalition will become synonymous with debt disasters.

Fighting Fake News with REAL 29/10/20; Years of Privatisation; Net-Zero Emissions, Industry & Gov Policies

Despite health and community services being largely government-funded, three out of four workers are privately employed.

See what’s happened? With some help from their rivals, the Libs have worked tirelessly over the past 25 years moving workers from the Labor public tribe to the Liberal private tribe. Haven’t you noticed the big improvement?

Net-zero emissions drive puts Australian industry on notice

The pressure on Australia is indisputable. In a Tuesday night call, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson reportedly called on Scott Morrison to "act boldly" on climate change and stressed the need for ambitious targets to reach net-zero carbon emissions.

'Our policies won't be set in the UK': Australia defies international pressure on emissions targets

They have been gaming the terget figures since Kyoto int spinning their image as a responsible global nation. However neither the world nor the the electorate believes anything they say when the their lips move. They merely doing the bidding of their donors. Today 80 % of Australians believe in and want to see government effort in real change to fossil fuel reduction and clean energy and not the tokenism and lip service provided by Scotty from Marketing

FAKE NEWS

'MUSSOLINI MEETS FRANKENSTEIN': ABC GOES FERAL ON DONALD TRUMP

COLUMN In 40 years of journalism, I’ve never seen a TV station show such unhinged hatred as the ABC showed on Monday for Donald Trump. Two weeks ago, ABC deputy chair Kristin Ferguson tweeting that Trump was “immoral, criminal”, and now the ABC's two top current affairs shows call him worse in 90 minutes of deranged abuse.

12/10/2016 Andrew Bolt wrote that Trump wasn't fit to be President in full agreement with the ABC he never complained about the opinions of 80% of the Australian population back then he agreed despite the fact that he sided with Republican Politics. Trump was immoral and criminal and Bolt the "suck" he is has changed. He now believes Trump is simply a misunderstood version of George Pell and ought to be treated as a misunderstood saint.

The whole world is insane then because of it's dislike of Trump and Trumpism, according to Andrew Bolt. One thing Trump has done however he's de-mythologized the Presidency and helped Americans see what Democracy isn't. He's popped the American Dream and divided the country. When private corporate media become concentrated, propagandists spinning PR for payola to influence the electorate rather than inform then without the counterbalance of a publicly owned broadcaster like the ABC one only gets the top down view of the world and not necessarily an account of reality based on verifiable data and evidence.

Bolt whinged and whined that Dan Andrews approach the COVID was wrong and Trump's far better. Trump's chaos was better but it's the electorates choice. But it wasn't the electorate was with Dan science and real data verified and delivered by real journalism not blindly but always questioned. It stood out over Bolt's opinion and raised the bar to avoid anything goes chaos Bolt loves to play in simply because he has a resource and a platform to sell. His falling ratings show he's simply not very good at what it is he does. He basked in the sun for his 15 seconds of fame when Abbott was around.

NORE INFECTIONS, FEWER DEATHS

Rarely mentioned in the panic reporting - more coronavirus infections, but fewer deaths: "On May 31, global cumulative cases were approx 6,000,000 and deaths approx 400,000 — a death rate of 0.07.  Today, cumulative cases are approx 43,000,000 and deaths approx 1,000,000 — a death rate of 0.02. " More tests? Better treatment? Less deadly mutation?

Bolt hasn't a clue it seems. So there's no reason to subscribe. However the fact is Dan Andrews solved the problem with better management and the US and the EU are looking at us with envy and are adopting and or calling for our approach. There is no grounds to believe the virus is weaker we are more immune that it doesn't have long term consequences science is discovering more each and every day. The more knowledge the less guessing out weighs the costs Bolt's short term thinking keeps bleeding about. It certainly shows his form of individulism and free market doesn't work.

FREEDOM IN MELBOURNE! IT FEELS SO ... UNFREE

COLUMN Wednesday was freedom day in Melbourne! More than three months of lockdown ended and it felt so … not much.  Didn't feel like Sydney, for a start, which has got about the same level of infections and more people in hospital. Which tells us that Daniel Andrews still doesn't have faith in being able to do the basics.

Bolt doesn't mention the rest of the world isn't looking at Sydney but is looking at Melbourne and Morrison is trying to grab as much of the glory he can from ir. Bolt's life hasn't been that handicapped. He lifestyle remained relatively unchanged. We came to realis just how unessential it is what he does and how over paid he is for doing it. He's a failing cash and unnecessary and more and more unwanted drawcard that was nurtured by the ABC . Without the ABC he'd have been less noticed.

BIDEN STUMBLES. DOES AMERICA DESERVE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS?

No wonder Joe Biden limits his public appearances. He once again can't finish a sentence, and aides rush in to usher away the camera. Watch. So Kamala Harris will become president of the United States? Really?

Personal fact yes Biden has had a stutter for 47 years that's of major consequence to Bolt who amplifies Greta's Aspergers Adam Goodes Blackness. Trump can't have a normal conversation with anyone without rushing away from the cameras but that's OK. Bolt's simply doing a Trump incapable of logically debating what is being said he like DJT attacks the man. Dr Mary Trump would declare Andrew Bolt shares the same pathological personality traits as her uncle. He has an inability to recognize the other, an inability to admit he's ever wrong, and simply is incapable of uniting a room.

What make Andrew Bolt believe President Pence would be better than President Harris anyway?

Being Old Turned Out to Be a Plus for Joe

The conventional wisdom was that age would hinder Biden but it’s turned out to be a secret weapon, one of several that’s made him the front-runner.
