The hard fought freedom of speech that Bolt talks came with Fraternity Liberty and Equality it never conceived of Murdoch's privatized corporate mass media and even global spread. Bolt is a Murdoch man owned, not a free man to publish whatever he wants. He is free to say what he wants privately like all of us.
However now that Abbott is stepping up National Security for little other political advantage even those freedoms we have behind closed doors could well be lost. For that and that alone the removal of Section 18C would be seen as a gift to the powerful and political interests and total contradiction to what the Abbott government is doing.
According to those in power the rights of redress are already encompassed in current law. Yes they are if you have Gina's wealth and are able to take a Corporation to court. These events are few and far between. Goliath was handicapped according to research with a disability of slowness. That can't be said of Corporations or Gina. He has the power the Murdoch power which could for instance diffuse panic.
