outdated claim cherry-picks an unusually hot year -- for a period of
time, 1998 was the hottest year on record. But two years have been
hotter since then. NASA reported
in January 2013: “With the exception of 1998, the nine warmest years in
the 132-year record all have occurred since 2000, with 2010 and 2005
ranking as the hottest years on record.” It is also important to
remember what NASA reported in 2010: “global warming theory does not posit a linear, year-to-year increase in temperatures.”
