A 14 seat gain for Labor certainly doesn't herald an Abbott comeback particularly when he was noted for being MIA during the election. What was it that Scott Morrison Bolt's favourite PM substitute said about Abbott's absence? "We wanted to give Baird clean air" Sounds like what he really thinks of Tony to me.
As for the press gallery well it just a few blogs back Bolt was saying how fair they were. Can you guys ever make your minds up? Peter don't you read your boss's blogs?
Rumpelstiltskin like song and dance that has us looking at Bolt over our shoulders as we move on. How he admires Ferguson but hates the Lamings and Turnbulls of this world. It merely shows how twisted Bolt really is. Bolt certainly doesn't like men of character and principle Malclom Fraser springs to mind. neither do the Elitists have any respect for an electorate unless it votes for them. However it's faux respect as they wouldn't ever have the mass of voters that ever voted for them to attend their celebrations. Heavens no they might just have to meet them.
When it comes to racism Bolt has no fears whatsoever he's a proud one. Interesting though, if presidents of the young Lib branches have to resign for facebook faux pas imagine how far Tony Abbott would have progressed in politics given his past track record. The network of pro bono lawyers and the Catholic Church backing him back then wouldn't have helped him today. That Catholic Church no longer carries the weight of honesty and principles.
Yes the indigenous are more likely to have a chequered past than the blue eyed blond Bolt's of this world but then even Andrew bolt has been found out not to be the truthsayer he makes himself out to be. Abbott can lay claim to change and was forgiven. Billy well just grit your teeth and walk and suck it up. Once guilty always guilty more so if your black and there's Bolt's around.
India stands proud of it's positive discrimination policies whithout them it wouldn't be the democracy it is. Bolt is totally against any such thoughts here. Labor Victoria has introduced quotas for women.
Bolt's column is just a rehash of what he's been saying all along drawing as much attention away from Abbott as possible for the Labour comeback of 14 seats in NSW. It's also drawing attention away from "The clean air" Scott Morrison said Baird needed for Abbott to go MIA.

Ostriches with heads buried in the sand can't see reality either. Humans that can't should be ashamed. To suggest Racism is only imagined and not systemic here or in the US is plain ignorant. I know it's bullshit because I know you or Andrew Bolt wouldn't go to some areas in the US or here because they were black. Furthermore you'd blame the people living there for being racist. Racism is not only overt in your face anger and yes there is positive racism or discrimination and it's changed whole societies for the better and is continuing to do so.
Positive discrimination has broken down the caste system in India. Untouchables asked the same question why was I born this why am I unable to do the things others can. If they tried they soon found out their restrictions. Racism and prejudice is very systemic and very obvious and still is today. Christians have a very difficult time and positive discrimination breaks that down. The laws changed and they were told they could do what they wanted and room would be made to guarantee opportunity . Quotas were set in all government institutions and someone was there to say what Mrs Obama said "Untouchables can do anything". The road is hard prejudice still exists but the opportunities are set in law. India is a country of 1 billion. Australia is small with an indigenous population of 3%. Wouldn't positive discrimination be a positive racist act. The Intervention certainly wasn't it was based on lies and the removal of peoples rights without consultation.
Australia needs positive discrimination if it truly wants to eliminate racism. The Victorian government just initiated a 50% quota on boards and committees for women why because of an invisible ceiling which no doubt many disbelieve exists and women actually prefer ironing by nature..
The Murdoch Hive reveals it's true purpose every now and then. Murdoch's current concept of selling itself as an unbiased news provider is it's largest fiction and lie. It's a business and it's model is a propaganda machine for those that can pay, the wealthy and those they wish to put in power, their political class of choice. It supports them but on the promise of a return. So it allies itself with the money and those most willing and able to change the laws to increase it's sphere of influence. Worst of all we pay Foxtel for entertainment which supports businesses that run at a loss but influence government. The ABC is also a useful tool as it differentiates News Corp from it's obvious alliance with Government and Industry. However the ABC is nevertheless in the way of their way and the ultimate goal would be to get rid of it, Sell the ABC.
The ABC charter is to represent us all provide services that private business wouldn't bother to provide it's reason is not for profit. News Corp's bottom line in the long term is all that counts. It's short and long term strategies driven by that. Attacking the ABC for being a subsidised business is one. It's not a business and it's denying that it's purpose is not commercial but a public service. Any attempt at a comparison of this kind is just a blind. It's a self serving argument masquerading and hiding it's real value as a citizens protection.
ABC's lack of ratings is another News Corp deceptive populist argument. It's actually run by the elitist class which makes and profits from populism or cheap entertainment. However when it comes to real news the ABC beats shows like the Bolt Report hands down on all levels. If you consider it The Bolt Report is in fact the most heavily subsidized piece of propaganda on television rating far lower than any equivalent on the ABC. Yet it argues the non commercial viability of the ABC.
However lets focus on the news. Governments don't like the ABC because the ABC is not just there to prop them up much to their chagrin. Wouldn't it be a lovely world for this government if that was the case . There would be no need for News Corp. However the ABC is there to keep the bastards honest to put them under the magnifying glass and critically examine their performance on our behalf. It's there to do that to all levels of our social fabric and not just politics and it does that exceptionally well and it's why the government sees it as their nemesis.
Given the above the ABC provides News Corp with the opportunity to make money by being the government cheer leader but not gratis it wants favors. The result is weaker and poorer performed government locked arm in arm with News Corp and self interested industries not necessarily serving the best interests of it's citizens. It's the easy for these groups to organize and come together for their mutual gain. They can easily counter any feebly funded citizen organizations unions,associations or demonstrations. Our source of information and bulwark against this troika is and always has been the ABC. It's a not for profit organization that Bolt tries to demonise as a subsidised commercial opposition selling an unwanted product with a political bias. This is a most insidious program that News Corp carries out under the very noses of wherever it has a presance. News Corp is the worst citizen any country can have. It pays the least of taxes wherever possible has only it's commercial interests at heart and wants to be a global monopoly.
Globalisation has made this practise even easier because Murdoch's News Corp is transnational and the scale of it's activities make it far more powerfull than the governments of the regions where it operates.

Ergas & Bolt believe that Governments today should not have to face realistic oppositions? Basically these elitists don't believe in democracy. Boards and committees should only be made of like minded people? Why would the Victorian government even consider 50% women on boards and committees? Germany required it's company boardrooms to have quotas a mix of labour capital and managers sitting on them. One only has to see their progress they made since WW2.
These very mixes seem to enable agreement cooperation and change to be facilitated quite easily as focus turns to problem solving rather than just a contest of differing ideologies.
Our government proceedural processes seem little to do with problem solving and more to do with ideological differences. The frustration doesn't create better politicians but just more determine careerists,winners and losers.You only need to look at the personality changes politicians need to fabricate in order to pretend there's a real change in direction about to happen. There is so much time and energy wasted in changing the culture of every department that no attention is paid to actual problems.
Abbott's personality and extreme ideology may have brought him to government. But he arrived without a clear understanding of the problems that needed solving let alone how. He stepped into the drivers seat and merely brought the Tea Party manual of how to drive with him. Half way into his first term and he still having trouble identifying the problems let alone negotiating a way through them. According to his Murdoch PR team everybody is looking at him and not through rose tinted glasses. Piers Ackerman's plea posted by Bolt was please stop he's changed....what a wank.
