Abbott orders boycott of Q&A that puts Turnbull in a pickle

Link Corporate Paywall

Abbott calls for the Newscorp media troops and inforce they have both united to boycott the ABC.  Newscorp  needs no encouragement to perform this self interested task  of discrediting it's opposition the ABC  to see it either axed or privatized in exchange for the advocacy propaganda and PR  performed for the Abbott government.  This team spirit can be seen here with Mark Day of the The Australian performing the task it seems with relish as he's certainly acting as an Abbott advocate here. He's coupled with none other than a Liberal Party Senator James Mcgrath who like Steve Ciobo seems to relish in  contravening UNHRC convention and section 18 C of the RDA in saying

"“Only a drongo would allow a convicted grub like Mr Mallah to attend QANDA and encourage them to ask a question."

I believe it's Bolt's second or third repeat of this old information maybe the Bolt bot has run amuck. It  tell us yet again that this will put Turnbull between a rock and a hard place. Why is he repeating this? He saw a report indicating Turnbull was not taking this issue of the ABC any further. So Bolt's yet again Abbott's pitbull growling. I feel free to presume that's the real reason for this repetitive blog.

Abbott too scared to rule out racial division in politics

" As he should insist we already have a Parliament that represents all Australians, regardless of “race”.Bolt

Bolt is wrong on this one we have a parliament that divides us by wealth, by faith, by gender and race now. Bolt is playing a game of describing the extreme case which 87% of indigenous reject at the moment. Does Bolt intends to try to keep the constitution as is with allit's racial elements retained. This white dude is lying telling his white readers what the Aus black man wants. He doesn't listen he speaks for and against them in the same breathe with never listening to what has really been said. It's a tactic used  so when Abbott offers some token gesture the white electorate will feel  the warmth of Team Australia. Abbott's not scared. The indigenous aren't asking what Bolt claims they are. This is sheer distortion.

The real reason for this smoke screen is  Indigenous referendum: Noel Pearson says summit ‘stage-managed’, left ‘bitter taste’ in mouth

Greece’s clown show continues

Link Daily Telegraph

"You’d never think that these “terrorists” were actually offering Greece more billions it would never repay."

As if this offer isn't a continuation of lending the money to pay the interest the creditors are owed. This is not generosity this purely banker manipulation for which 10 bankers were arrested in Iceland for and jailed. Had they acted in the true interests of the Greek people in 2008 the country would have had no deficit by 2009. Let alone  one that has escalated to $400 billion. One that with each pressed  Memorandum only went to pay creditors. In any other world this would be recognized for what it is loan sharking and the manipulation of the poor.

Bolt with his right wing wisdom throws sarcasm  into the mix. Sarcasm from a distance which he'd gutless to show anywhere around Oakleigh. Nevertheless he still considers himself a humanist and rationalist.  "You’d never think that these “terrorists” were actually offering Greece more billions it would never repay."

How the recognition movement disempowers Aborigines

Quadrant Conservative rant

Anthony Dillon identifies as a part-Aboriginal Australian who is proud of both his Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal ancestries. Originally from Queensland, he now lives in Sydney and is a researcher at the Australian Catholic University

 https://youtu.be/fLLmPkDQ6Dw

Yes Dillon is conservative as he see seems to deny the Historic and Systemic Racism that exists in Australia. Then again his approach to the topic seems less studied than personal in that he identifies with those that have succeeded and no longer  effected by it.. These are  the Kooris often referred to as coconuts.

Fact Aborigines living in remote communities only got recognition  of the right to vote in the 60's Fact equal pay was not allowed them until the 60's. Rural communities built wealth on the backs of indigenous workers. Very few could save money with the pay they were living on and therefore had no banking history. Native land title didn't help because traditional lands while recognized weren't the same as British titles. Banks wanting collateral refused them loans. In other words the system refused to recognize their cultural difference and did not afford them the same opportunities as whites that's racism.

This lack of recognition applied in so many ways in terms of lack of credit offered by the white community in general such as trust and not just in financial terms.  There lies an inherent suspicion that has never really evaporated in 200 years. If pointed out  this is what Dillon and the white community term the path of victimology rather than a structured  history of economic disadvantage. It allows and justifies things to be done to and for them as opposed for themselves.  Non recognition of their differences and refusing any mutual adjustment is racism. People aren't given the same recognition because they are indigenous.  The indigenous as a result are found on the lowest economic and social denominators of the country. That is not because they chose this disadvantage or their culture is in any way dysfunctional. It's for that reason it's fair to say that the unequal distribution of power creates the disadvantage we see.

Recognition isn't going to solve the issues of power distribution nor is it about to remove the racial elements already in the constitution

"Yet Aboriginal leaders are focussed on a stupid change of wording to the constitution as they bitch about the past."

This is the ignorance that Andrew Bolt  helps spread along with his trolls like Gary. The Noel Pearson model doesn't give a shit about constitutional recognition. Recognition might be nice outside the constitution but even that seems unnecessary to Pearson. So Bolt an Pearson agree.

Pearson acknowledges  problems exist but they are traditionally dealt with by executive decisions from the top down rather the other way round something money wont fix. Pearson is suggesting a legally formulated body be formed, duly elected by the indigenous to advise on indigenous affairs. Similar bodies already exist such as the Productivity Commission. Is that so hard to grasp? Pearson is not even asking for that body to carry any more weight than being listened to. Simply that a genuine flow of information be shared  some coming from the grassroots up. Something that hasn't occurred in 200 years. That is the recognition requested and that is the request denied by Bolt.

The rest of Bolt's rants and denials carry elements to scare rather than support the notion. Calling in more police to Walgett, closing a school, pointing out  problem, has less chance of being solved without listening to all those involved. Abbott is constantly talking about the conversation we have to have  but having it with Andrew Bolt is never a conversation just a lecture that's been going on for 2 centuries. He is the Tim Minchen character in the TV serial The Secret River. Bolt's short term solution On 2GB tonight - the recognition farce drags on, while Walgett’s school meanwhile needs police

China even more scary than Greece. Market freaks

Ain't this the truth

Could Tony Jones explain why we paid for this jaunt?

Link ABC

" that are actually standard for every politician - the $271 a day away-from home allowance:" Had Hockey and all politicians been required to spend that money  to boost the economy of the ACT they would have provided an increase in jobs and a cash flow that would have percolated throughout the Capital and benefited it's economy rather than only their personal economies. For that they should be shamed.

Bolt seems to be ducking the issue of personal expenses claimed by Tim Wilson for Taxi fares $15,000  that's $300 per week. This wasn't a HRC executive decision as was the case of  Tony Jones his boss and the ABC. Wilson's Taxi fares are far more akin to those of Peter Slipper's  so the question is fair and reasonable.

Q&A by the way is not part of ABC News division and is in an entirely different department run separately and on different budgets. But thanks Andrew Bolt for stepping up to a level higher than your current intelligence grade that of Producer. After all I guess you are the be all and end all when it comes to understanding TV production and programming.

The Liberals shouldn’t take such comfort in Shorten being unpopular

Bolt's bottom line. "The Government remains behind in the polls. The complacency I’m seeing is extremely premature. Not all the promised change has occurred."

Bolt's below the bottom line 53:47 Always the last thing he mentions and wishes he didn't.

Bolt's I won't even mention it Abbott's popularity 33

But we all must have missed that charismatic turn around that always dominates poll talk by Bolt.

Column - Blaming the West for Islamist terrorism fixes nothing

Link Corporate Paywall

The numbers don't lie. Since 9/11, more Americans have died at the hands of white supremacists than radical Muslims Fox News can’t bear the truth: Right-wing terror groups are America’s gravest threat

Christians doing what they have always done never declaring it religious but praying before war during war and after war. Didn't Bolt notice Bush and Blair's born again cry  to do to Iraq what Desert Storm failed to do.? The chorus of prayers can be heard in the cry of Tea Party Republicans to escalate this current war is loud and clear and heaven sent. Death by technology far outweighs the numbers killed hand to hand and the drone of engines dropping their payloads  masks the righteous prayers of the christian technicians. Obamah has escalated death in more legal and illegal ways than ever before and it's called weak by Bolt. Abbott wants more of the fight to boost poll ratings and they all find justification in the bible

British, American and French governments knowingly left the Muslim population of Srebrenica vulnerable to a genocide that killed 8,000 men and boys in 1995.

Column - Phil Walsh’s death has dads wondering about their children

Link Is just a Corporate Paywall to nowhere

Bolt yet again fails to grasp the fact that domestic violence exists. But only dickhead commentators turn it into drama when a son kills a father, not when a mother brother or sister die. Bolt uses the tragedy for his personal literary event. On any other occasion Bolt could well have turned it into a case of terrorism influenced by messages from the internet. Every family has it's personal politics.

In days of old tensions were more readily diffused in extended families  maybe it's why we don't see these tragedies hitting the front pages as often  where extended family structures still exist. Murder seems less common in all alternative family structures than it does in traditional nuclear families that Bolt holds up as the ideal unit for child raising. Maybe the nuclear family is far more dysfunctional than Bolt and Abbott are prepared to admit. After all  high divorce rates don't support thier claims.  The nuclear family is a modern development of Industrialization and has changed dramatically in recent times due to economic changes. One change Abbott doesn't like to talk about  when he talks of this idealized arrangement for raising kids is. the downward pressure this government puts on wages. It's certainly effecting the current politics of the family.

Abbott orders boycott of Q&A that puts Turnbull in a pickle

Abbott and Newscorp are on a unionized strike against not only Q&A but the ABC. Where is the misguided  bias? It's always been with the government and is evident in the Abbott question "Whose side are you on". The answer and correct one to anybody asking that question is "not on yours but on the side of truth" The misguided bias is  also evident in Newscorp's inability to act as journalists but only as an advocacy, propaganda and PR machine for business and the conservatives. It's where the money is and money is their business model. Corporate media hate independant because they not only compete with them but they show them up for what they are, partisan.

Turbull's dilemma is purely one created by Tony Abbott. I'm sure it will be reported in independent fashion by the ABC. The issue is something that suits Abbott for the moment as does Marriage Equality as all these are side shows to the main event which Abbott is avoiding the economy and jobs.

David Marr’s alternative reality: Rudd stopped the boats

This is a done and dusted issue that Bolt revels in because it's just one of the few that aren't Abbott tragedies. . The majority of issues the government has faced has been an outright disaster for them. Bolt can't afford to discuss them so he just carousels the same old same old to avoid the embarassment.

 Fact Check

The verdict

There has been an 80 per cent reduction in asylum seekers arriving in Australia by boat in the comparison period outlined by Mr Morrison. However, the data shows the number of arrivals began to slow significantly under Labor, soon after Mr Rudd's regional resettlement arrangement was announced.

Mr Morrison's claim is correct, but there is more to the story.

Greeks say no to rescue

Link, Associated Press

"Greek people are proving they want to remain in Europe" as equal members and not as a debt colony." The referendum was Greece's first in 41 years. Greeks defy Europe with overwhelming referendum 'No ...

What can one expect when class war exists within Greece and within the EU. If they get kicked out they will have written off a $400 bill debt. In exchange for a Russian and Chinese to the tune of? Whatever does happen the country will need to restructure the systemic corruption that has been allowed to fester within it's corrupt institutions. However whose going to point at the finger at the a moralistic bankers that were front and center assisting the slide to poverty not for charity but profit.

The situation certainly highlights the difference in morals of Islamic and Western banking. In western banking only one party is responsible for  the debt  and if there's default the responsibility is all there's bankruptcy the only way out or if allowed increased debt at higher interest. In Islamic banking the loss is shared by both lender and borrower the loan is a mutual responsibility. As interest is not allowed but fees are allowed Predatory interest rates are restricted. Greece wouldn't in in the hands that helped manipulate the position they are in today. If Greece leaves the EU does this mean all those specialist Greeks Engineers, Doctors etc  assets trained for free and forced to move from Greece because the country was being bled will be forced to return. Maybe Germany can take all the asylum seekers Greece is supporting.

"As of this writing, the IMF has publicly stated that Greek debt is unpayable in its current amount. From recently released conversations among senior German negotiators, this was well-understood before the 2010 ‘agreement’ between Greece and the Troika was signed. And at the wholesale and retail levels Wall Street, large American, French and German banks, knew that many of the loans being made, couldn’t, and therefore wouldn’t, be repaid.

In 2008 the IMF made a public mea culpa begging forgiveness for decades of denying the very same plutocrat-serving bailout policies that were the first choice of Western policy officials. This is to suggest that just because all parties involved in Greek ‘negotiations’ know, and have long known, that Greek debts can’t be repaid has had no bearing up-to-now on the punishing policies forced on the Greek people. Debt is the tool of modern imperialism. Had the U.S. and Germany extended the same bailout terms to the domestic and global periphery that were applied to ‘home’ banks the global economic crisis would have ended in 2009. History is always overlooked
