First let's talk reputation Andrew Bolt vs Ray Martin. Convictions Bolt at least 3 Martin 0. Awards Bolt 0 Martin too many to count. Un verified speculation is Bolts trade he doesn't let facts stand in the way of a good story and when caught out he rarely apologizes.
So when Ray Martin suggests that the bombing of Syria is a fortuitous political advantage for Abbott which he wont shy away from using Bolt says it's a lie. Does that mean Abbott wont use it as a political advantage in the Canning by election? I don't hear Andrew Bolt saying that.

Nobody other than himself is suggesting his version of events which some might say is verging on psychosis.

Amazing this ABC hater gets his news from the ABC. He claims is constantly that they are biased and can't be believed yet he uses them as a source but in this case he takes what they say as gospel.
Hockey has done nothing more than support a group for the Republic which he has supported publicly for years. He didn't call a press conference or said anything. One needs to ask why is Bolt so hysterical and creating mountain out of a mole hill?
Ego he wants everybody to believe he's out to help Abbott but in fact he's out to help himself over and above anybody else. Had he left well enough alone it would have been a simple and minor issue that would have passed.

Here Butthead Bolt is actually solo flying he's attacking those he usually calls fright bats without his leading side kick Bevis Tim Blair. Notice there is no attempt at being funny or is there? He's far more serious than Blair when being anti feminist. However it seems unless women fight for all women everywhere in the world they really aren't feminists. Needless to say not all of Bolt's principled issues are of global nature.

The mentioning of Abbott's name is in itself a slur if it's on the ABC it would seem. Take a picture and make up a story but that's ok. Bolt plays in the kindy of media and cries foul . Sound very immature to me very childish. So he calls in the News Corp troops united and one voice look like a crowd a diverse group of commentators which they're not. Couple that with the Troll Peter BH and you have a mob beating down the doors of our public broadcaster. One voice against 85% of the population who support the ABC looks pretty thin.

It's amazing how blinkered Bolt is when he says the ABC conducted interview Tim Flannery one of the 97% of scientists that support warming theory rather than one 3% who oppose it. Balance according to Bolt is giving 50% time to the minority.

The weakness is not the plebiscite it's when it's to be held and that isn't the peoples choice. It's solely in the hands of the government who wish to delay it for political advantage. They want to distort the issue to one about people voting which isn't the real issue at all. It's when will the vote take place why not now. They have no argument.

So there goes any argument we have about the rights of Sovereign States and border protection. Has any consideration been given to asking Syria or do we ignore them now recognize the ISIS Caliphate and it's sovereign territory ? Isn't the Syrian government committing mass atrocities? after all 250,000 are estimated to have been killed in the past 5 years. ISIS didn't even exist when this was happening and we did nothing. So why is it we now have a moral obligation to help Assad? Droping bombs will assure more civilians are killed is that the moral stand we are obliged to take ?

Politicaly a renewed focus on the war on terror will do no harm in the Canning by election, especially given the military credentials of the Liberal candidate.
And if those dubious strategic benefits cause doubts in the opposition, straining the bipartisan consensus on national security or even causing divisions between Bill Shorten and his deputy Tanya Plibersek, Mr Abbott will consider that a win also.
