All that can be said of Andrew Bolt and he reinforces the fact that he's either an idiot or he was very deprived attending his fathers school. We know he was deprived and we know he was a very slow learner because he really didn't know who he was until 30. He identified then and still does today as Dutch. Learning for Andrew it seems wasn't what he liked he preferred training. Being told the answers rather than being asked to problem solve and share differing perspectives in coming to conclusions taht are always being tested. No Bolt prefers certainty and the safety of knowing right from wrong. It's why he lectures his audience in a way that really doesn't allow for any alternate opinion.
His brother was at one time Secretary of Victoria's Education Dept. Yet Bolt's ignorance of Education is profound. Even his father was a teacher. How is it Bolt sees teaching as not a process of learning but one of training? 9 year olds, apparently according Bolt, from Dandenong aren't as worldly it seems as those trained in Malvern. Sorry Andrew the same training is given to all teachers across the state maybe your kids were like you at 9 extremely limited. Bolt seems to think this young girl has no brain of her own. Is it because she's Muslim or because she's a migrant from Dandenong where the kids couldn't possibly feel or identify as Muslims, migrants and Australians all at the same time something Bolt had trouble doing. Bolt seems to be imposing his imagination on a set of circumstances that he knows nothing about but thinks he knows everything about. This 9 year old couldn't possibly acquire quality information from varying sources other than from school.
So Bolt takes a letter, dislikes what he reads and immediately makes a heap of demands and conclusions "Who is this teacher in what is actually a state school?" "Super-emotional? The student sure picked up on that.""And what kind of vulnerable students is she instructing on her brand of politics?""Great. What politics will they have preached at them?""Any conservative-minded students in the class? Or would they keep their opinions to themselves?" Bolt None of what has any relevance other than to is imagination. It's really the Identity politics he disavows and centered on his most disliked Melbourne suburb Dandenong. One wonders if he's even ever been there.
What we can glean from Bolt's remarks about Dandenong nothing but we do learn a lot about him. We need to remember Bolt has told us he never felt Australian until after 30. He must feel he was badly taught? We know he didn't really integrate because it seems he waiting for necessary directives that just didn't come. Do he and his brother speak? If they do it's obviously not about education. We also know Bolt hates PTA meetings. It all seems to show he never really got on or did well at school and he's projecting his narrow blinkered focus on the wiser and more intelligent children of Dandenog. Isn't that Identity Politics?
The teacher in this story seems a real person who the kids relate to and are prepared tho openly share their knowledge with her no foul no favor. Isn't that what Bolt pretends to do?

As if Rust Belt America actually got their political realities and information delivered in an informed manner from Fox News, Breibart or MSM generally. Well the fact is the AHRC is free a no government independant mediating and conciliatory body that doesn't require any of the parties involved to spend any money unless they want to. However that expense is not due to the AHRC. But as Bill Leak says clearly in his quote below he had and has like Andrew Bolt unlimited Corporate backing. Those issuing the complaint in the first place along with the Bolt's of this world have no need to become the circus and travelling road show unless they want to be. It seems they do and are treating it as an investment in influence. They along with the QUT students chose the legal, media and political path and saw it as an opportunity to publicize no matter their reputations.
AHRC have absolutely no involvement in the choices opposing parties make beyond their closed doors. The claimants certainly aren't scrambling for the attention given to them. The attention gained by Andrew Bolt screaming Reverse Racism, victimhood, is just flipping identity politics. Bolt revels in using his media cosh loaded with an arsenal of shot to protect the privilege of the historic corporate, cultural and political elite that have gained their wealth and power simply by obstructing any notion of changes that might involve an alteration to their social status delivered them by our Capitalist social structure. In fact the battle ground over Free Speech has nothing to do with the extension of equality, justice, or fairness for all it's based on silencing the complaints of injustice. By commercializing, and privatizing speech to the quality we have seen in America speech is reduced to what you can afford only . Where the rich are able like Trump to use their wealth to threaten to sue anybody at the drop of a hat that might negatively impact on their interests. Lies, slander and defamation become legitimate tools of those with wealth and Cultural capital to silence those without any. The AHRC is a handicap to that power in Australia simply by the fact it provides room for mediation behind closed doors. The Law is even a bigger one. However blaming Triggs is scapegoating. Conflating two bodies the AHRC and the law is an attempt to seem crusaders for us all weighed down by their authority when in fact it's not at all a cause for social improvement or justice at all. All that we hear today is Bolt playing victim and smearing Gillian Triggs it's the sound of a very spoiled child.
