WA DEBACLE SINKS TURNBULL

THE Liberals’ catastrophic defeat in Western Australia should convince federal Liberals that Malcolm Turnbull really is finished. Turnbull campaigned horribly in last year’s federal election, nearly losing, and last month all but killed Barnett, too.

News Corp Paywall  ....Advertorial
"Sure, this state election was fought mostly on state issues."Bolt
That sentence alone shows Bolt doesn't believe what he he's saying. "Barnett had outstayed his welcome after eight years, squandered the money from the mining boom, left his state buried in debt, and now wanted to privatise state power stations."Bolt
Here Bolt is telling us what the Conservative government of John Howard did and Abbott continued to do squandered the mining boom  and screwed our National energy system. Just don't mention the Conservatives. Hansons 14% drop to 4.7% and the almighty jump left to reasonable united and Democratic Politics. Remember Bolt and his predictions of that tsunami of a  swing to the right that was going to occur.
The Liberal party endured a stunning collapse in its primary vote – a negative swing on present indications of 15% and it wasn't to the Right

ONE NATION "FLOP"? NOT QUITE

The media is gloating at One Nation's "flop" at the WA election. Yes, Pauline Hanson campaigned badly, was hurt by her preference swap with the Liberals and had candidates betray her. Yet, One Nation still got an 8 per cent vote in the seats it contested in a state in which it's not strong. It will also get one or two seats in the upper house.

"Yet, One Nation still got an 8 per cent vote in the seats it contested in a state in which it's not strong. It will also get one or possibly two seats in the upper house." Bolt
Here's Bolt running the argument that the Liberals weren't bad in every seat were they?  The fact is One Nation's vote dropped from 14% to 4.7% and not 8% if your comparing apples with apples but Bolt's not. It's what he does with all his losing arguments. Like Global Warming is a fact but it's not occurring in his backyard. It doesn't matter whether or not others are as stupid and Bolt can turn to them for support stupidity in logic is stupidity. WA didn't run a part State election.
"Yes, this election showed up two key vulnerabilities of the party: poor organisation that's led to even poorer selection of candidates; plus some of Pauline Hanson's wilder opinions." Bolt
Apparently Bolt has no regard for the intelligence of the electorate just the incompetency of the party

"I expect she will learn and improve, although there's no doubt she'll be and feel bruised. One key will be how she reacts: by digging into the trenches and becoming paranoid and embattled, or taking it on the chin and maintaining the non-threatening and open demeanour that has worked so well for her."Bolt
How typical of the wounded apologist Bolt did exactly this after Tony Abbott put his foot in his mouth. Nothing it seems has changed. Abbott kept on repeating himself. Is Bolt suggesting Hanson is a quicker learner than Tony?

GREEN SCARES CRIPPLE OUR GAS, ELECTRICITY

Our energy regulator last week warned Australia could run out of both electricity and gas. The key cause: irrational fear-mongering over global warming and gas fracking that now threaten to turn off our lights and our heating.
Nothing here about the privatization of the energy market and the promise Abbott made of Cheaper Power. Sorry Bolt the Greens weren't running the country they were railing against what Tony Abbott managed to do to allow exports to become greater than the needs of the domestic market. The Public Interest became secondary to the private and it became a political tool as well. Best seen in the squeeze to blackout SA and keep the profits in the hands of AMEO shareholders. Why is it the biggest producers of energy are now calling for an ETS while  the Conservatives have totally wedged Turnbull into a corner on this?
The major players AGL, Origin, etc  are in a state of transition and know plants like Hazelwood have had their day and new ones are no longer a future investment and they are saying  ETS will bring certainty into the market and drive money where it's needed.
Here we have Bolt ignoring the industry and it's experts in order to make his pissy little political points rather than problem solving.

LEFT RAGES AGAINST CIVIL DEBATE. COOPERS BUCKLES

LEFT RAGES AGAINST CIVIL DEBATE. COOPERS BUCKLES

Liberal MPs Tim Wilson and Andrew Hastie have  a very civil debate on gay marriage.  But that infuriates some on the Left and the sponsor buckles: "Coopers Brewery has distanced itself from a Bible Society ad featuring two Liberal politicians debating marriage equality ... A #BoycottCoopers hashtag even emerged on Twitter."

"Are some on the Left seriously arguing that this kind of discussion may no longer be permitted? That anyone hosting such a civil discussion be boycotted?" Bolt
Bolt's deflecting the issue  which is: Did the Bible Society Hijack the  Cooper' Brand. In other words did they steal Coopers to promote the debate.? Bolt totally ignores the issue of commercial misinformation and theft  the whole event is fake. Yes nobody complained MP's advertising Fairfax Fairfax didn't deny the ad. Cooper's denied they had anything to do with this.
"We want you to know that Coopers did not give permission for our Premium Light beer to feature in, or 'sponsor' the Bible Society's 'Keeping it Light' video featuring Andrew Hastie and Tim Wilson," the second statement said...

The claims that Coopers did not sponsor or agree to the ad seem to be in conflict with material posted on the Bible Society's website, where the society says it "teamed up with Coopers Premium Light to ask Australians to try 'Keeping it Light'."

LEFT VILIFIES LEAK FOR NOT SHARING THEIR COWARDICE

What a rapid change Bolt does from his first 3 posts on Bill Leak which were all actually about Andrew Bolt. The first three posts were all about advertising his show that it was to be a special bla bla bla Bill Leak just was just and opportunity for the Bolt report nothing less nothing more.
Bolt's had that sink in and some quite a few days later seems to realize he needs to do a bit more and he cut and pastes the the thought of others to make up for it.  Tim Blair, Mark Steyn, and Miranda Devine are three unbiased persons chosen for today's excercise. What we have here are 4 advocates of "free speech"  who far from defend "free speech" Bevis Blair attacks Andrew Marlton, Steyn seems to lash out at the whole universe of cartoonists leaving only one unique Leak to be remembered. Miranda Devine simply denied the freedom of others "persecutors" to deny Leak "instead he was assailed with an open letter from “173 media and communications professionals” slamming his “racist cartoon”.Devine. The thing that she points out is that 1) The ARHC responded to complaints as much as they'd like us to believe the incited them which would be 'free speech' if they did.
2) Apparently " image of Mohammed so ‘offended’ the delicate sensitivities of certain terrorists fighting for Islamic State in Syria that they issued a fatwa against me, calling on “fellow mujahideen” in Australia to hunt me down and kill me." Bill Leak It seems Leak appreciated just how 'free speech' had the power not just to vilify but also incite and he moved because the threat was from overseas. Had it been issued in Australia Leak had the ARHC at his disposal to complain to. Imagine how expensive this freedom is if everyone was forced to go into hiding
3) Lets get this straight  Bill Leak admits he was appealing to the fact that " high number of 97% of the inmates in the detention centre were indigenous."Leak This is not the equivalent of  the fact that 97% of indigenous families are abusers of children yet Leak feeds this implication rather than the opposite. Andrew Bolt did the same with sexual molestation when the fact it was multiple instances recorded within one family Bolt and Leak made out it was common practice and a wholesale act among all Indigenous families across Australia. We all know there is major social dysfunctional issues in Aboriginal communities. Aboriginals are the first to ask for help However the help they get tends to be of the kind Bolt and Leak offer. That of building and reinforcing a stereotype of all Aborigines in absolutely negative terms. and if you like inciting actions in the same way Leak experienced the fatwa. Leak was by no means defending that level of 'free speech'. No noise from Bolt but there was an outcry explaining why Sections 18C & D of the RDA make sense in a civilized world.
4) "While less murderous than the tactics deployed by Islamist terrorists, the actions taken by the AHRC were no less authoritarian and they sprang from the same impulse: to use whatever means they have at their disposal to silence those with whom they disagree. Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act was just the ticket. It provided them with the blunt and brutal weapon they were looking for." Leak Are we to believe Leak and Bolt are in favor of open incitement to murder maim or harm others? I believe Bolt is as News Corp affords him legal and physical protection which not everyone has.
5) Ask yourself this does Bolt's Blog  practice 'free speech' it's moderated. Does Bolt's show The Bolt Report encourage 'free speech' it's strictly and predictably produced the space occupied by Bolt is hardly 'free'. Is there anything Bolt does practice 'free speech' not on your life the space Bolt occupies is strictly moderated and not available freely. In fact Bolt polices his space more strictly than even the AHRC that is and NGO and not a Government Department only an advisory body and Bolt wants it closed down and demands the Government change it's laws to make the AHRC a toothless tiger. How is it Andrew bolt hasn't brought a case against the AHRC himself?
