The great betrayal: Coalition hardliners throw democracy overboard to resist same-sex marriage

2016 Gold Logie winner Waleed Aly on the red carpet.

Totally unvalidated gossip typical of News Corp Culture

News Corp reported the Gold Logie winner was "a bit over The Project" and now had his eyes on a return to the national broadcaster, where he worked before joining Ten's news and entertainment show in 2015.

The Project rumours are false, Waleed Aly isn't angling for 7.30, says ABC

"They label movements for LGBT rights as 'Marxist' in the hopes that this will frighten people into voting against things like gay marriage," McCarthy says.

"This is a clever rhetorical strategy, if dishonest or, charitably, simply deeply confused."
McCarthy makes a firm distinction between Marxist theorists originating in the 20th century and today's concept of "cultural Marxism".

Cultural Marxism – the ultimate post-factual dog whistl

What Bolt doesn't tell you is that 3 other publishers are bidding for Hamilton's the book. Bolt, as usual, is too busy pushing his own confused ideological barrow. He says he believes that the marketplace is the determinator of published ideas but contradicts himself by his claim "we have become too weak to resist" China and that somehow the government needs to step in.
Bolt's logic is hardly based on the principle of a free market. His cry "Cultural Marxism" is hardly based on the principle of free speech in a free market without state interference. Here he is telling us that the market has failed and the government needs to step in and stop China being a player a lobbyist in the market of ideas. Hello isn't that Socialist protectionism?
What Bolt seems to be quite confused an advocate of the Capitalist Free Market is somehow claiming that the market needs government protection?  Just batting for a side hey Bolt forget the principled moral high ground. Marx loved Capitalism it's inherent weakness was the inevitable road to Socialism and social justice.

This is called Flipping trying to convince us Religion is the new Gay fighting for equality after years of persecution. Save Christians from the Colosseum of secularism and cultural victimisation. Sorry, it just doesn't wash. Aborigines are denied a voice but devout white bigots aren't. Freedom of religion is written into our constitution but Christians don't have the right to be bigots. The No sayers have never faced victimisation unless of course, they are Jews, Muslims or any other religious cult opposed by conservatives chosen not to be acknowledged.

What we have here is the News Corp Echo Chamber. First, it was Chris Kenney now Terry McCrann watch the Murdoch chorus referenced by each other without acknowledging who it is they work for.  They will begin yet again to chant and raise  Tony Abbott from the dead. Imagine if they'd bought Ch10 as well Sky and Print. Bolt tells us the Chinese are overpowering us and need regulating but News Corp doesn't?
McCrann is basically calling for scrapping the Paris Agreement and embarrassing Pauline Hanson soon a coalition.

The test of the caliber of politicians not to lie apparently is dual citizenship those that remain must be the honest ones. How is it Bolt's not praising Labor for not falling over? If this were the only reason on which to base political honesty Labor has won by a country mile and you can't believe anything that the Liberals say. We have experienced Abbott's lies. We no longer hear Bolt claiming he's changed that we heard just too often. However, after the 'yes' vote is handed down watch him change his tune on delaying same-sex marriage and the conditions he and the conservatives will demand while crying victim.

What Bolt fails to recognize as a commentator of any stature is the Liberals were in trouble from the moment Tony Abbott became PM in the election the ALP lost. Bolt's  short-term views and comments have failed to address long-term plans or problem-solving Australia's government has failed to address. Concentration has stalled on nothing but the rejection of anything the opposition has to say the fueling of fear and the restrictions of citizen freedoms. Now with the Yes vote, we are about to witness the breaking of further promises and increasing the rights to bigotry. No vision of what we wish to offer as betterment for the next generation who don't think like Bolt and don't understand him.

Firstly there is no link to the survey Bolt references. "the poor and frail are in danger because they can't afford to cool in heat waves."Bolt
When it's convenient for Bolt he declares that warming isn't a death rate problem the cold is.  People don't die in warm climates as much as in cold. However, that in this instant is not a convenient fact for Bolt and warming is the problem. Turning on the "air conditioning" is. I'm afraid Bolt hasn't a clue about poverty if he believes the poor have "air conditioning" He must be referring to the poor in Malvern. The fact is this summer it must be a problem because it's getting "hotter"
Bolt's swung from denialist to accepting warming as a given scientific fact yes it's getting hotter.  But the issue is simply the policies to deal with it coal or renewables. So let's make this a historic occasion and note that Bolt is a warmist and warming isn't any longer just a scare, heat kills.
The poor throughout history have been the least able to deal with it the wealthy have never had that problem and that is a matter of social justice and the distribution of wealth, not the issue or the reality of increased planet temperature.
All Bolt even admits this fact that social justice is the political issue a football kicked around by incompetent politicians an issue of welfare. Those like Bol are against any intervention by way of increased taxes on those that can readily. They already bear a burden of how to invest their money. It should be noted 400 billion and millionaires in the USA have signed a petition against Trumps tax cuts and a prepared to help raise the quality of the current living standards of the poor. That's a solution not considered by Bolt. In Australia, polls indicate the same only a dead set minority are against taxing the wealthy who have increased their incomes by 22% while the rest of us have flatlined. These extreme conservatives the major shareholders of the nations increased wealth along with Bolt News Corp and the IPA are their loudest advocates to cut their taxes and any form of welfare. So don't tell me Andrew Bolt believes that the poor are hurting or whats more even cares.
Today Shell sold it's $3.3 Billion interest in Woodside and  Fossil fuels and the NAB announced it was reducing its interests in the industry. Given that Abbott destroyed the automotive industry in the country and is against subsidies these decisions along with the documented tax evasion seen in the Paradise Papers how much cheaper should our electricity be or would it be a problem at all if everybody actually paid their taxes rather than hid their incomes?
