"  He wants Alberici gone to placate the Government led by his mate, and suggests that the possible return of the Turnbull Government makes that sacking more necessary. That also implies that Milne would not find it necessary to sack Alberici under a Labor Government.
This kind of political calculation is disgraceful. Shame on the board for not quashing it immediately.

The story, however, is that it goes to show the chaos caused when an Independent Statuary body is interfered with economically, politically and culturally as the ABC has been by outside forces that are themselves so divided namely the LNP. Michelle Gutherie it seems is a meat in the sandwich of a communication breakdown. The ABC is not as Independent as one might think given the staff had to read about Gutherie's sacking in the Australian yesterday. How is it Milne, Morrison and even the Australian knew about the internal machinations of our Independent Statutory protected body before the ABC staff did? It seems the staff at the ABC had every reason to be angry with their MD's lack of communication and every right to cheer when they were told by Murdoch's Australian she was gone.
No Government has manipulated the ABC more than the current Abbott/Turnbull/ Morisson government and in particular, the lies told when Abbott cut the financing by $200 mill to be followed by Turnbull's cuts when promised pre their election there'd be "no cuts to the ABC". The very nature of the political, economic and cultural interference by the government and it's political supporters suffered by the ABC and the illegality of it all is clearly visible now and in relief to us all.
 The News Corp, Fairfax and IPA myth of staff bias compared to the bias of all these agencies to prevent the ABC from doing their job is what's so obvious. Any doubts that the ABC was being manipulated by staff from the ground up has evaporated. The ABC has been neutered and News Corp has helped in blurring that. Bolt's call for the head of John Milne is a deflection a cover-up of the use he actually was to the LNP.

Creationists believe the world was created some 6000 years ago teaching Evolution Theory to Children is divisive and dangerous. Assimilationists also believe there is only one true Culture in Australia and it began 220 years ago and that was the Birth of Australia. We know that Settler countries like Australia, USA, Canada, NZ and Israel are multicultural and diverse and as such  Assimilationists are part of that landscape. However, put in the reality of our historical context and the reality of our diversity of cultures the refusal to recognize that reality that's divisive and dangerous. It's a refusal to acknowledge the context in which Australian Democracy was born where a consensus by vote exists that everyone is welcome and equal no matter what race, religious freedom is guaranteed and an independent judiciary exists. 
However, Andrew Bolt is the media voice that rails against those beliefs the core of Menzies and Howards  Liberalism when he denies the separation of powers and that voting a path to an agreement. If anybody prescribes to collectivist thinking in all our institutions it's Conservatives who deny the relativity of our history, it's evolution and the rights and wrongs of our not so glorious past when saying the country only began on the 26th of January just over 200 years ago.
Bolt counts himself among the hoi polloi because they give him gifts of $400 bottles of Whiskey and of course, speaks their behalf dreaming he's an organ grinder, one of them and not just a monkey. In fact, he's from a Dutch satellite family and didn't ever feel part of the Australian cultural landscape at all and still doesn't it seems as he dreams of a barge in Holland as his retirement home. Strange isn't it because he doesn't bother to mention that the Netherlands is a Democratic Socialist Nation more so than Australia a nation whose political principles he abhors. But then he also claims to be an indigenous Australian with dual passports. Basically, he's a hypocrite and braggart.
