It didn't go to court because when Bolt was threatened he folded like a cheap suit admitting he was a cad lying about her and to his wife.
Bolt's problem conflating the Rush and Foley cases is they are significantly different. Rush isn't suing Norvill he's suing News Corp's The Daily Telegraph his employer. A mega-Corporation has forced Norvill into court to defend itself and in doing so has made her the meat in the sandwich. Rush is only doing what he's entitled and that's to defend himself and do it vigorously. The moral of these 2 stories that Bolt overlooks in his editorial is that Rush and Norvill are both victims of Institutional Political and Corporate greed and ambition. Foley and the female Journalist are both victims of the moral and ethical misuse of Institutional standards. Parliamentary privilege in one and Media the other.
