 The case of Smollett is an excellent distraction from a far more severe case of Trump's enablement of violence and terror rather than his victimhood as Bolt holds up as a distraction. LT Chris Hasson, a 30-year devotee of White Nationalist dogmas, was preparing to kill Democrats and Journalists why? Because they were what Trump said the Enemy of the People. This man had a list of names of Democrat targets, a cache of weapons 1000 rounds of ammunition and a purpose given to him by the President of saving America and making it great again.
 Andrew Bolt, however, prefers to focus on the trivial and the possible misdemeanour of a Fox celebrity and asset because he's black and homosexual rather than pay attention to a white nationalist, domestic terrorist, who was fully armed and prepared to make a Breivik mass killing come to life  in the USA in accord with Trump's encouragement.
 Bolt fails to address this real fact that right-wing terror and violence has increased at a skyrocketing rate since Trump became President and will continue to do so. Whereas those against have done little more than Smollet if proved guilty. It makes Jussie Smollet at worst seem a prankster compared to the Trump supporters that have already and are prepared to commit ongoing murder and mayhem with people like Bolt ignoring them altogether.

Andrew Bolt naturally follows the US Fox head office strategy of beating up trivia as the most important news today. The intention being distraction and deflection from Trump enabling White Supremecist violence and it's rate exploding since he gained office. He's spent the last two weeks on Smollet and has put real terror in the closet.

Andrew Bolt wouldn't apologise for a moment of truth like this he's too tightly produced too careful not to be confronted by guests that can actually bring facts to a conversation. Carlson is far more professional opinionator than Bolt and less attached to the autocue.

You can picture him in his study with his Dutch barge dogs surrounded by his Tiffany lamps and art reading the classics sipping the best of scotch and listening to high-end music. The complete picture of Dorian Gray, Fascists in uniforms and polished boots, or cheap thugs heads of Latin American drug cartels pretending to have class and not just money. In Bolt's case a millionaire chimp being paid by his billionaire masters and their clients in media in the misguided belief he's one of them. Still, Walter Mitty still trying to convince us he once worked as a minder to a belly dancer.
