Telling Bolt the News
'Disgrace': Morrison government's advertising spree sparks fury
Government is cramming 15 simultaneous campaigns across television, radio and print in the lead-up to the federal election and the independents are furious at the blow out in cost.
'Buck stops with him': Turnbull demands PM act over Dutton's Chinese donor links
Former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull has sensationally demanded his successor Scott Morrison deal with "very troubling" allegations about Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton's links to Communist Party-aligned billionaire Huang Xiangmo and Liberal lobbyists.THIS ISN'T ABOUT CHINA, THIS IS ABOUT TURNBULL'S MAD REVENGE
Malcolm Turnbull yesterday savaged Peter Dutton for having once had lunch with Chinese billionaire Huang Xiangmo and demanded the Prime Minister investigate. What a bitter man. There was nothing suspicious about the lunch, and Turnbull met Huang more often. This is just sheer revenge by an angry plotter. My editorial from The Bolt Report.
WHY ONLY CANCER, BILL?
Good question: Why is Labor leader Bill Shorten offering no-cost treatment for only cancer, and not other more deadly diseases? And why does he forget to say that cancer treatments in public hospitals are actually free, and he cannot guarantee that specialists offering private care bulk-bill?
PAYWALL
Pretty hard to comment on an ad for a subscription. However, rest assured the topic it's too technical for Bolt. So it's, yes, a Paywall which will not have a satisfactory answer if subscribed to either. Cancer treatment isn't free if it were our public hospitals would be inundated with long term patients. The population of Australia is aging, and cancers tend to be an aging and very costly disease. What are the other "more deadly" diseases Andrew Bolt refers to, we can only guess? Would they get as much loving support and political heft from a group of otherwise conservative aging voters? Shorten's promise along with Climate Change ought to be a great hit in Flinders and Warringah wouldn't you think strongholds of once traditional thinking let alone in the rural areas of Australia? Far more of an impact than Bolt's cynical criticism of an excellent policy move. Who will stand and cheer him for his wowserism?FACT CHECK
Greg Hunt said fewer patients face costs to see a GP under the Coalition. Is he correct?
The Health Minister has his numbers right on bulk-billing — but that doesn't necessarily mean fewer patients are facing out-of-pocket costs when they see a GP. RMIT ABC Fact Check investigates.Paywall
For 6 years the LNP were niggards of Infrastructure with Abbott not just not doing anything but blocking Labor states from doing anything, and when finally we see things getting done you have Andrew Bolt crying stop the works their not that urgent while complaining about overcrowding at the same time. The "free speech" advocate who has called supporters of Blair Cotteral good folks displaying their concerns when on the street can't abide the same when the left and in particular the workers of this state unite to demonstrate the unity of their interests. The Melbourne Union Rally will shut down several city roads, and very few people will be inconvenienced. More people than not standing-by are workers who will support this demonstration. Wages have been stagnant but the income and wealth gaps keep widening and Andrew Bolt never addresses that does he? He complains about the inconvenience and the manners. Style is more important than meaning when enforced and even promoted is just another form of oppression.
