Scott Morrison names new team in cabinet reshuffle

Prime Minister Scott Morrison announcing his new ministry on Sunday.

The PM has stamped his authority on the government with a reshuffle that elevates some of his closest allies and dumps his former environment minister.
Apparently, Pentecostalists are entitled to lie even on Sundays. " Will you retain your current Environment Minister?" asked Bill Shorten during the 3rd election debate. We received a definite "Yes" from Scott Morrison. She was "dumped" today coupled with the excuse "it's what she asked for". She sure did, but it's not what he told us. Were Morrison's fingers crossed behind his back when he said so?
This man was never, and still isn't a ScoMo. Soon we will be listening to a series of lies about the economy about Climate Change and a series of other promises made about 7 years from now. They will begin to machine gun lies and not only on Sundays. They will do nothing about the Royal Commission into banks, and they will put Australians into the position of having to increase their personal debt to survive. Yes, and it will still be at 22% as it always has been with penalties. Did anyone notice the wholesale price of electricity went UP?!!! (ODT)

'We need to reflect on what we say to our sons': Top cop's warning as another woman dies

'We need to reflect on what we say to our sons': Top cop's warning as another woman dies

Speaking hours after the discovery of a woman's body in Royal Park, Assistant Commissioner Luke Cornelius urged men to take responsibility for violence against women.
Lest we forget Andrew Bolt kept trying to convince you that men were the victims in a society that was increasingly dominated by "frightbats". That those women who called men misogynists were, in fact, their carers and only men in the Muslim world deserved to be targeted in that way. The violence we see done to women in Western Christian societies is an exception and not the norm, while the reverse is the case in the Islamic world. Meanwhile, Bolt like an Imam said he'd stop his daughter leaving the house if she was improperly dressed just after criticising Australia's Imam who said much the same. We also saw Bolt verbally abusing Yassmin Abdel -Magied and outstanding Australian woman, mocking Dr Susan Carland, threatening Miranda  Devine and laughing at the South Sudanese for having a beauty pageant with his son James. A real male role model is Andrew Bolt. (ODT)

Tony Abbott concedes defeat in Warringah.

Abbott's last, sweet jig with dinosaurs ... before it was finally up

Who seriously thought Bill Shorten’s cohesive policy platform, which he presided over with great stability for six years, would be gazumped by Scott Morrison after six years of huge instability, and the first PM in Australia to be elected on a mandate to do . . . not much in particular? That is, there were no huge policy innovations by Morrison, just more of the same, and if he wasn’t quite a one-man band, he was at least on bass guitar, drums, trumpets, whistles and lead vocals.
Personally, I have no clue how the same electoral tide that swept Tony Abbott away by 14 points looked at George Christensen – infamously absent in the Philippines for more time than he spent in Parliament over two years – and said: "Yup, let’s swing to him by ELEVEN points!"
When it was all examined, the LNP win amounted to 146,000 votes out of 15 million that really counted. Tell me Murdoch and Palmer's donation to the LNP, their wall of sound in Qld didn't buy those votes. That folks was no miracle. (ODT)

Josh Frydenberg: low-emissions future is inevitable and a huge opportunity

Does anybody think there's an attempted steal suddenly going on here ?" Josh Frydenberg says Australia needs to roll out new infrastructure in the coming term of government to support renewable energy zones and has declared that the “inevitable” transition to low-emissions sources creates an opportunity for the country."
Frydenberg lost 6-7% support in Kooyong to Climate Change and was extremely worried. Millions of dollars were pumped into Kooyong to save his seat. Suddenly Abbott's gone, and Climate Change is no longer the crap it was. He believes in the Science, and also Australia's global responsibility. Suddenly he's spruiking a great new future for those eyesore cancer producing wind generators that don't work when the wind doesn't blow and the solar panels as well. He even admits that coal is no longer the cheapest future. Will we see Evs spruiked and talked up against Cash's utes too? What will Climate deniers like Murdoch media hacks make of all this "renewable opportunity" Will they be calling any new subsidies a "tax" on carbon?
The government is already talking down the "booming " economy they claimed they'd created with a booming warnings and a 'stimulus" package that sounds more like Wayne Swan's and Labour's which they bagged in opposition the difference Labour gave everyone $900 the LNP is giving the top end wage earners $11,000 ++ the ordinary Australian worker $1000 and the low-end zip. In an all or nothing package not even when promised. (ODT)
