Andrew Bolt as described here shows he's far from original in his attack on Greta
Despite the heavy-handed presentation, if a viewer actually listens to what Ocasio-Cortez is saying, it's quite clear she's making a cogent and intelligent case and understands the actual scientific evidence far better than her detractors.
Thunberg was also greeted by a wave of misogynist nastiness, largely coming from allegedly grown men in both Europe and the United States. The attacks on Thunberg were in the same vein as those on Ocasio-Cortez, accusing her of being too stupid to know what she's talking about and denying that her voice is one worth honouring. These kinds of attacks have no basis in fact. Thunberg's views on climate change align with those of better than 97% of climate scientists. Thunberg is no helpless puppet, but a sharp and remarkably passionate young person who has sparked an international youth movement of climate activism with millions of participants. In order to give weight to these attacks, these critics rely on stereotypes painting women, especially young women, as infantile and idiotic. Without this kind of misogyny, they'd have nothing.

According to Andrew Bolt knowledge is determined by seniority unless of course, a 13-year-old white girl addresses a black man as an ape in the case of Adam Goodes. 13-year-old girls of any colour couldn't possibly be smarter than Andrew Bolt. However, it's the 21rst century, and we certainly know age, knowledge and wisdom aren't correlated in the way Bolt suggests. Not only by age and experience. How good is Andrew Bolt's Math Chemistry, Algebra and Geometry or his computer skills in 2019? Is his better than most 13-year old girls? I doubt it, no matter how much older he is? I'd suggest compared to Greta he's as bright as a bag of rocks. Bolt calls cowards those that stand beside Greta. Unlike Bolt's backers for who he's just a paid spokesman. They remain anonymous. He regards them as brave, but they are rarely named or openly stand with him. Yes, he's become a millionaire but for just working as a mouthpiece a talking head for billionaires. Unlike Greta's supporters, they remain in the shadows.
According to the majority of scientists specialising in global climate, the planet is warming. Warming at an accelerated rate and as a consequence of man-made emission of greenhouse gases. There is a majority consensus among climate scientists that the planet is warming and doing so at an accelerated rate. According to Andrew Bolt, that's a just a cult belief taken on by cowardly activists using children to push their case. There is no mention that the majority of adults on the planet, not activists also believe the science Andrew Bolt wildly calls a religion a cult while witness to his losing battle.
The real science for Bolt isn't macro or global at all. It's about the rain falling today locally and the crops that are grown that disproves what Bolt calls global catastrophising. Yet, strangely, the planet isn't listening to him but to the cult which he calls religion. Scientists, Politicians, Policy Makers, and Corporate heads are all giving Bolt a wide berth. While he's standing there frothing and calling them cowards and activists. Yet, Bolt isn't a scientist doesn't challenge global climate science at all but turns to cherrypicked selective events as if they contradict the much more significant macro scientific discoveries that have lead to the future predictions of the existential threat to this planet.
So his attention-grabbing targets are children 13 -year -olds. Children who should be seen and not heard. There is a hierarchy of seniority here that's been broken they simply can't know more than or have more experience than Andrew Bolt. I'm sure 13-year-olds see a lot more than Andrew Bolt about any number of things.
Adam Goodes was out of line saying a young girl didn't know what she was doing and she shouldn't be blamed because a generation of adults had socialised her to be a casual racist. It seems Andrew Bolt is entitled to mock, and discredit these children in very personal terms because he doesn't like what they are saying. However, in this case, they do. Isn't Bolt trying to show the children have been manipulated and need to be silenced simply because their children and can't know more than him whatever that is. That sounds more like a plea than an argument of facts. But it's, even more, it's an unsupported plea because he denied Adam Goodes simply correcting a young girl not abusing one as Bolt is doing? The difference can only be because Goodes was Black and Bolt isn't which diminishes anything Bolt has to say.
Greta Thunberg, on the other hand, seems to know what she is doing no matter what Bolt calls her and has far more excellent global and universal support than Andrew Bolt who appears in this case to be the child throwing a tantrum not Thurnberg and as member of a shrinking minority more of a cultist as well.
Why haven't Bolt's denials gained traction? Why has he now turned to a conspiracy of cowards as an explanation for the growing support for the science he so feverishly denies. He never really has a panel scientists on his show in the proportion that are for and against. He's just one man still telling us the world is flat. (ODT)

Supermarket giant Coles has joined the advertising boycott against Alan Jones' radio program on 2GB following the host's inflammatory comments about New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
A Coles spokesperson said: "Coles values diversity, respect and actively promotes the rights of all of our team members and our customers.
"We stopped advertising on the Alan Jones program on Friday 16th August and have subsequently stopped advertising on 2GB."
