Responding to Andrew Bolt's accusation that the Coff's Harbour Council banned Jacinta Price from "speaking". They didn't do that at all they asked her to get permission from the local elders whether or not she was entitled to use their Council's facilities not whether or not she could speak. After all, she doesn't represent them any more than Andrew Bolt does.
It's not unusual to hear Andrew Bolt lie and be given the privilege to use mega facilities of Murdoch media do just that. Jacinta Price has no expertise on "Aboriginal Culture" which is made up of hundreds l of diverse and different tribes, and she doesn't represent any of them. Yet, Andrew Bolt makes as if Jacinta Price does why? Because it seems she's black has the same opinions as he does and is therefore of use to him.
Bolt suggests there is a common Cultural element among Aboriginal peoples that promotes and triggers "domestic violence". But he never makes any mention of what that, in fact, is. Nevertheless, it's common among the diverse First Nation peoples. Well, we wouldn't be too far wrong, picking some of those common elements, and it has little or nothing to do with their Aboriginality.
Poverty, Christianity drugs and alcohol seem to be a common factor across all Australia, and that's not specifically an Aboriginal trait. Studies have shown that all these characteristics peculiar to White Western Christian Culture when found cobbled together are triggers for the behaviours Bolt deems "Aboriginal". Yes, Aborigines are more actively Christian and practise their adopted religion more readily than whites do. Hundreds of years of generational change to Whitemen's ways have seen indigenous Australia take up drugs and alcohol just as White Australia does and with all the accompanying dysfunctional behaviours. When Julia Baird pointed out that research showed active white Christian, males were the most likely to be domestically violent Andrew Bolt lost the plot.
Do we ever hear Bolt talk of Indigenous Australians as active Christians no? They are Aboriginal and culturally different according to him. If Bolt was prone to domestic violence, 20% of the Bolt's could be defined by his actions alone. However, it would be deemed unjust to tar all the Bolts with one brush. It's just as unfair to compare a minority with a diverse, multicultural nation of 25 million, yet Bolt has no trouble making that comparison and stereotyping it as Aboriginal. Even more, racist is his holier than thou stance and accusative efforts to use his racial prejudice against the most oppressed minorities in this country.
Ita Buttrose said it and said it accurately Andrew Bolt wouldn't a good fit for the ABC that represents all Australians and isn't prejudiced against some. She didn't say that he was banned, but as usual, Bolt makes it an issue about himself how surprising is that. Regular patterns of behaviour form systems some designed intentionally and others only by habit develop over time. Andrew Bolt doesn't explain the Murdochian Institution of which he's a part it, however, explains him. Unlike the ABC, it's ultimate goal is its bottom line. The ABC's isn't it's service. The Public broadcasters who work there in contrast to Bolt and his ilk are opposites. Their goals are to provide a service for all Australians and not just some, and so they operate and behave differently. As such Andrew Bolt then simply excludes himself as a suitable member of that Public Service. Ita has no problem with that. However, Bolt seems to.
