Our cities are full of smoke. There are code red fire bans. Every day, new directives are issued for Australians across the country to evacuate their homes. The wind is hot, dry, fast-moving and rainless. It is TERRIFYING to live like this - more than a million hectares of land are already burnt, there are burns wards for goddamn koalas, people dead, hundreds of houses lost. I’ve been caught in a bushfire before, I am FRIGHTENED by what is happening. Aren’t you? Isn’t every reasonable person?!

And yet what is the Australian prime minister doing?
Seriously, what?
Is he announcing massive, coordinated plans to rebuild towns, replant forests - and do everything possible to prevent fires? Is he mobilising the full resources of the government to make us feel safe? Is he pledging his life as our leader to the sacred duty of protecting our communities?
No. He’s been at the cricket, lucky him. Oh, and he’s denying climate change.
This is the opposite of leadership. It is wilful lying - to our people, and to our country. It is WALKING AWAY from the most basic demand of the office he holds.
I hope you enjoy cricket, Scott Morrison. Seems that free tickets and overseas trips are the only reason you wanted the job.

  Morrison actually sounds what Tobacco Sales and PR staff have been saying for years "There is no DIRECT evidence that Smoking causes Cancer so is Morrison going to outlaw the QUIT campaign. Morrison also conveniently leaves out the word that completes the research to date That there is no DIRECT evidence, however there is a shit load of INDIRECT evidence that extreme weather conditions and bushfires are linked. This will be an interesting talk at the Perth Festival, from a master of this topic of ingenuity: "Bruce Pascoe: A conversation about ingenuity." Ingenious is how this "Aboriginal author" rewrote sources to produce a preposterous history. The reason is dead, and the Perth Festival will party on its grave.

Andrew Bolt's record of ingenuity and invention over the past 40 years we know is on the public record. He claims to have been educated at Adelaide University but hasn't. He's laid claim to the truth about people and has been sued losing not winning cases. He's even been threatened with legal suits and retracted what he's said with additional bullshit. All his inventions have been of the Walter Mitty kind. Yet he claims to a presenter of reasoned arguments which have been publicly proved to be vilification, practised abuse of the sort we currently are hearing from the mouth of Donald Trump a man Bolt calls smart.
 Calling others like Pascoe preposterous and liars and suggesting that there is no evidence to show Indigenous Australians have no claims to ingenuity is akin to a boomerang that thrown by Bolt has come back and has squarely hit him in the face.  Indigenous Australians have been around caring for the land in which they lived long before Bolt's ancestors stopped dragging their knuckles on the ground. They stood up and came along raped pillaged and stole the ingenuity of other civilisations for their gain and called it theirs.
 Andre Bolt lays claim to listening and shows he doesn't know what it means unless it's his own voice. Listening is dangerous, and Bolt has helped kill it. Indigenous Australians invented the boomerang, and it was a survival tool one among many used for 60,000 years what claim to fame has Bolt? When it comes to ingenuity, apart from the ease with which it was stolen along with wisdom, what was the sole invention of his white ancestors?
