FAKE NEWS

BUDGET: THE PRICE OF OUR FEAR

When Treasurer Josh Frydenberg finished reading out his Budget speech, there was one embarrassing figure he’d still not mentioned. It’s this: fewer than 300 Australians are still sick with the virus that he blamed for causing the worst budget deficit — by far — in our history. But it wasn’t the virus that really did this.

Bolt's phishing. The question is really a scam invitation by a grifter to buy something new that is in reality so old it's shriveled like some of Bolt's other body parts. What you will find should you dare buy his shit promise of enlightenment is that we never had to worry about Covid-19 in the first place. It's what Fox News and Trump has always said that it's little more than a common flu. A short term illness we'd get over if only we not he took on a herd immunity approach to it. What he wants is however to promote a reckless herd mentality as exists now in the USA of "nothing to worry about I'm ok fuck you" no government can tell me what to do even if the science and evidence says otherwise

Australia however hasn't been living in a vacuum or a world of it's own the planet has stopped consuming as a consequence so have our biggest exports. Aside from the lockdowns our short term pain is the economy's safety measure and long term gain.Over all it hasn't taken the massive hit Bolt makes out. News Corp has of course being the exception for the past 5 years with a 30% downturn and Foxtel close to fail. So if consumption is down so is advertising and that's what News Corp needs and has lost in bucket loads. So don't get the idea that Andrew Bolt is a great economic thinker. It's been an area he's shied from handballing it to Terry McCrann on most occasions. He's harvesting heads and ratings numbers to on sell to advertisers.

Covid according to Bolt has and is a global false flag worse than climate alarm but in consequence the same why? Because it's makes us realize Neoliberalism, "Free Markets" and Economically Rationalising everything can't cope with pandemics. That Conservative Politics can't and wont deliver us the changes needed which demand a swing away from societies that focus on maintaining historically "me" in competitive systems, trends and patterns of institutionalised behaviour. Rather than ones focsing on "we" or the values of a common or public good that encapsulates ideas and actions that accept universal rights and equality.

Bolt's call to liberate us from the pandemic lockdowns offers none of that. He's simply not interested whether Covid or Climate Change effects us equally or differently his urgency is to distract us from real and systemic changes necessary like a Nationalised aged-care system. He talks as if he cares but what he asks of us isn't on any social metric equal as we live in user pay dominated systems of behaviours. We live in systems that deliver inequality in risk, opportunity and cost should one be the immediate victim of Covid or Climate.

Best seen in today's budget and the LNP's deregulation of the financial system allowing us to to increase our personal debt in order to consume and deliver profit upwards. We are as individuals the most indebted society on the planet and increasingly becoming the victims of payday lending the LNP promised to do something about years ago and has drawn up a bill but is now telling its ministers not to pass.
