Politics

Opposition Leader Matthew Guy.

Officially launching his campaign for “positivity” on Saturday, Opposition Leader Matthew Guy promised there would be no lockdowns under a Victorian Coalition government.

Ever slowly, the citizens of the world are coming to the realisation that such vaccines will always risk being imperilled in the absence of fair and equal distribution across the globe. Given the freedom to mutate in unvaccinated populations, more variants of SARS-CoV-2 will emerge to penetrate the protective shield. ( Dr Binoy Kampmark)

In the case of Covid Matthew Guy is doomed to fail. With Omnicron rising, the EU, UK, and USA surging and hospitals faltering Matthew Guy sounds more like Custer than even Napoleon.

Multiculturalism has been an undeclared boon to the LNP. Their pre-election tactic historically has been to fragment and divide electorates in any manner possible and the diversity of multiculturalism is the means, the vehicle, they use to achieve just that. Slice and dice electorates thinly to limit majority unity. The ALP on the other hand works to unify that working family majority made up of diverse cultures. They remain consistent with that goal win or lose.

It's quite the revese when not in election mode. In power or not the LNP are in fact anti-multiculturalists whose ideology is the Assimilationist. The flipside of the coin which demands we all goose step to the same tune. They are in fact cultural Autocrats, Nationalists & bigots. The LNP rarely appeals to any underlying material data, facts or rational analysis to present progressive policies. But rather they target emotions, cultural difference and basic fears instead. The ALP battle is to find a pathway through the emotional and cultural labrynth in an effort to unite us and formulate the progressive, material policies to benefit us all.

There was a time when politics, our Democracy, saw a battle being fought for the center. Today it seems the LNP has moved to the extreme right where power for powers sake has become the only prize and their service only dictated for and by the wealth of their donors and the media who run a cash for comment and profit point guard business like Murdoch media globally.

The ALP is the only party with a will to still fight for Democracy but with one arm tied behind it's back in a fight against the extreme right, money and media. The LNP 's dream is today is to regulate Voter ID, rid us of compulsory voting and the independant critical eye of the ABC who is there to vet whoever is in power. Because the LNP like the American Republicans, Orban, Erdogen, and Putin aren't prepared to accept loss a fundamental without which Liberal Democracies can't exist.

How can we forget Abbott's war cry of Nope Nope Nope to any Democratic compromise? He ran second in history to Gorton for the least Bills passed by any government. Gillard on the other hand came close to setting the record for the most and with a minority government. She accepted service in the name of the people. Morrison has spat the dummy and simply stepped aside.

‘No ifs, no buts, no more lockdowns’: Matthew Guy launches campaign

Aged care lockdowns

NEED TO KNOW- LNP AGED CARE BILL

Just when you think this government can’t get any more sneaky. In a  Human Rights Denied, virtually unnoticed move, the Coalition government has snuck an alarming last-minute amendment into an aged care bill before Parliament that removes the legal and human rights of aged care residents. The amendment removes the civil and criminal protections to which all other Australians are entitled. If a member of the public is restrained without their consent, the perpetrator can be charged. In contrast, an aged care resident who is restrained without their consent will have no legal recourse. Then the government has the gall to try to claim that this amendment relates to a recommendation of the Aged Care Royal Commission, when it is the complete opposite of what the royal commissioners recommended.

The ‘pro-vax, anti-fascist’ rally in Melbourne moves down Lygon Street last Saturday.

False Flag definitely not ANTIFA but certainly anti-DAN.

“The movement,” says Deakin University senior research fellow Josh Roose, “is riddled with far-right and alt-right extremists who, with their growing reach through social media and in the context of developments in the US and Europe, pose one of the more significant challenges to Australian democracy in recent memory.”

The Prime Minister has said he will propose the government’s own version. Lambie scoffs at this: “That’s not an ICAC, that’s a feather duster.”

three examples of Morrison government ministers who were engulfed in controversy and left or lost their posts, but were later appointed to other ministry positions: Christian Porter, Linda Reynolds and Bridget McKenzie. “People here,” she says, gesturing at Parliament House, “are untouchable. The people are onto ’em, it’s in their face, and they’re sick of it.”

Morrison seems more intent on protecting politicians from scrutiny than on delivering a meaningful anti-corruption commission. If he won’t deliver, the task would pass to the next government.

When you have rorts and corruption and do nothing about it during your term in office and before an election what you do have is a TRIAL RUN

The nation is rudderless in the face of growing storm

Prime Minister Scott Morrison in Canberra on Sunday.

If preparing to create laws that allow MPs to sue and defend "at tax payer expense" while allowing parliamentary privilege to stand isn't enough. Morrison is trying to stop class action suits against corporations and is determined avoid any ICAC body with teeth.  LNP  is a one-way street named Autocrat and it's Morrison daring the voter to try and sue him or his friends. Let's not forget he's the guy whose best friends are reported to be QAnon and he and his wife employed and holidayed with them them. To say he didn't know is a stretch too far. Does saying that make me a troll?

Under the new laws people who believe they have been defamed online will also be able to get court orders forcing social media giants to reveal who posted.
