Rio Tinto Stripped Of Licence After Mistakenly Blowing Up Statue Of John Howard

The Morrison government has stripped mining giant Rio Tinto’s of its right to operate in Australia after it destroyed a historic statue of John Howard believed to be at least eight years old.
An irate Scott Morrison called a special hearing of Parliament to condemn the destruction, labelling it a ‘shocking act of cultural vandalism’.
“This is one of the earliest known statues of John Howard and one of the most significant cultural artefacts in Australia. It is a precious link to our past that is now lost to us forever,” a seething Mr Morrison said.
Other MPs joined a chorus of criticism against the company. “Mining is important to our economy, yes. But not at all costs,” Immigration Minister Peter Dutton said. “We will not allow an organisation that shows such reckless disregard for our cultural heritage to operate in this country”.
Rio Tinto apologised for the error, saying they were unaware they were mining near a sacred site.
The Prime Minister has called for a Royal Commission into the statue’s destruction.

Policing should be a service, not a force

Institutionalised racism should be eradicated and a police service should reflect the people they are policing in terms of demographics, ethnicity and gender. Australians and their first-person accounts on how racism in the media has promoted China-hatred.  Andrew Bolt and his ilk at News Corp have been the ones who have affected their lives here the most with their return to amplifying Hansonite hate towards Asians here as they dis Muslims and Africans. They hid when the shit hit the fan and the Muslim massacre occurred in NZ. Bolt certainly slid under his rock. One only need note Bolt's and News Corp's collection of columns, blogs and TV presentations to formulate why the Chinese might advise their people what they might expect to hear and the consequences of their messages supporting a fruitcake of a US president's political strategy to create China hate and Nth Korean love.

 In typical fashion Andrew Bolt tries to brush all that aside to raise his head over the parapet and try to blame the ABC rather than himself for the impact we have seen from China. Their crime they have given voice to Australian Chinese citizens and revealed just how successful Bolt's and News Corp's anti- China hate campaigns have been. Bolt's hoping for real violence to occur as it did in NZ so he can really go to town letting the world know just how much resentment there is here for allowing Asians into his white western European country and the ABC welcoming them.

China doesn't have to white-ant  Racist Australia Andrew Bolt's been doing that act since he backed off the Africans and Muslims here but don't worry it's to draw attention away from the overwhelming support BLM has had around the world and what a failed state the US is fast becoming.

Marx the ideas man stands in Bolt's eyes shoulder to shoulder with criminal slave traders that actually practised their racial beliefs. There is hypocrisy shown in Bolt's demand to physically tear down the statue of a macro social and historical thinker like Karl Marx. Whose influence is as great as Christ's and Mohammed's. It shows Bolt to be a knee jerk small-minded thinker that turns and grasps anything in a storm for attention but no argument.

As for Marx, he was a Jew and a grand thinker who asked what brought about historical change. Now that's a violent question as far as Bolt is concerned. That change was to be determined by the systems we put in place particularly those related to our material needs and not individuals. That the evolution of Capitalism developed with the British East India joint-stock Company and factories which had inbuilt contradictions that would inevitably change the system. Yet Bolt says that Marx a Jew was an anti-semite and the architect of mass murder.

Strange that the natural home for postWW2 thinking Jews or Semites as Bolt calls them was Russia, the world's Communist Parties and the political left because the God bothering Christian nations like the Netherlands the Bolt's family origins and homeland were hellbent on eradicating them and actually practised and planned their mass murder. Post WW2 the Dutch lied and hid what they did creating the Anne Frank tale the myth about how they were really the protectors and saviours of Dutch Jews. 80% of Dutch Jews never survived WW2. The Dutch-led Europe in the eradication of their own people. Nothing to do with Bolt who loves everything Dutch more than he does  Australia.

Isolated in a small Brooklyn apartment, she’s been told by her doctor (via a messaging app) that she has symptoms of the devastatingly infectious virus which has driven New Yorkers off the once thronging streets.

But she can’t get a test. Without being badly ill, "no one can get tested in this city" she says. "I haven’t touched a human in a month, and I probably won’t for another month. My entire social network has become digital." Among the city’s more than 1400 dead is an acquaintance from her local gym. A friend of a friend has succumbed as well. "We are all going to know someone who dies from this," she says.

 "The US feels that it knows better, it always feels it knows better and it wants to tell the rest of the world what to do," Slutkin says. But that’s been a costly error in this pandemic. "Not being able to tool up with widespread and systematic testing, that was a massive mistake."

 US was finding one positive for every two tested, while in Australia it was only three out of 100 – a testament to our much more extensive testing regime.

 Given the rapid rate of infection seen globally the risk of not containing the virus is too great. The cry "go back to work makes no sense in a globalised world when everywhere else in the world has shut down. Thought after COVID-19 will now need to address what is essential to a  fully functioning economy when an emergency like this happens. Capitalism has dramatically failed. What we are prepared and not prepared for will need to be reconsidered rather than allow this chaos we saw evolve again.

Murdoch media in Australia and America showed it wasn't part of any "Team Australia" fast losing its advertising revenue it is demanding a return to work while sketchily providing the logistics of Taiwan and a failing Sweden as examples on how it should be done. Never asking for a moment what our starting was or our differences. Andrew Bolt sketchily describes the "herd immunity model" as the appropriate wat to go but without mentioning it by name as it was totally rejected by all the global experts except Sweden and the Netherlands who aren't faring too well. They never seem to ask about or question our starting point or whether we even had the capacity to jump to their tune. The gist of their argument really is so what if 1-2% of the population dies the cost "to them" is far more important. So life should return to normal that a herd immunity approach would have been less costly "for them". After all, the indispensable staff could always social distance.

The amusing thing is News Corp and Sky are already hemorrhaging money and are dependant on the US to survive. It's why Fox News is warning that a lockdown is an overreach and it hasn't happened yet. They are not the most affected nation an leading the world but are rudderless and incapable of preventing the spread or the deaths. All we hear in Australia is the Fox News tune so what if people die our economy is of more importance.

In Britain, the news grows darker by the day. On March 5 the UK had no deaths from the virus. By April 2, the number of deaths had risen to almost 3000, from around 34,000 documented cases (a case fatality rate of just over 8.5 per cent).

If we take lessons from history, we can use this chance to emerge from the pandemic with a world changed for the better.

 Our concept of work will change. How many people are now working from home who, for years, have commuted without question to offices and other workplaces? How many jobs can be undertaken efficiently and flexibly via the incredible technology we typically to use to play games, look at pictures of cats and get into arguments with strangers?
If a secular education was the legacy of the 14th-century Black Death and nationalised healthcare that of the 20th-century Spanish flu, we have time now to consider how we can ensure a positive social legacy from 21st-century coronavirus. We owe it to those who follow us.

What is it about the word 'Extreme' does Bolt a professional writer for over 30 years not know? Why does he treat farmers as fools? There is currently "life-threatening" flooding in NSW where recently there was 78 days of deathly fire and destruction. Here's Bolt mocking the reality as a "normal" event.

 What doesn't Bolt understand about the fact that he has been doing nothing but losing News Corp money and the confidence of the Australian public with his manufactured Abbottesque stance? One might well ask who came first Abbott or Trump my answer Murdoch did and he amplified what they represented "division".  If he regards himself as Murdoch's leading writer then fact and logic dictate he's leading their fall.  Simply look at Bolt's scorecard it's telling and tedious.

 

SPEERS HASN'T CHANGED INSIDERS. WHAT A SHAME

David Speers is a good man. I hoped he'd bring balance to the ABC's overwhelmingly Leftist Insiders, given hints he gave in talking about his time at Sky: "There were plenty of views I disagreed with ... The beauty of it is that we could have these arguments and thrash out an issue on air.” But his second Insiders suggests its bias won't change.

Compared with Andrew Bolt Insiders is a true Climate Change but in this case, a refreshing one when compared to The Bolt Report and those other programs on Sky. Speers has a broader view of the Australian landscape Bolt looks at it using a telescope in reverse. (ODT)
