Abbott has finally conceded the Medicare Copayment was a centerpiece to his unfair May budget. Just as unfair as his Parental leave Scheme and entitlements to the ADF. I doubt Abbott will after all this time make any gains from his current backdowns because he still refuses to say he got anything wrong. That arrogance in the voters eyes is a stark reminder of the nature of the man. A man who after 14 months in office is still telling us it's Labour who is running this ship.
$7 or $ 5 Abbott's problem and those of his media cheer squad is to try to convince us that this was never a new tax or broken promise which remain indelible facts. Handballing it to doctors will have consequences Abbott may not expect because doctors were never there for the governments benefit as Abbott has made them they are there for us.
Abbott will try to buy his way out of his mess as Howard did 5 continuous tax cuts and loss of revenue that brought us to our current deficit problem.

If News Corp had any interest in

If the press council actually was enabled to declare who had the right to brand themselves as news and information providers as opposed to advertorial commentators and lobbyists we'd have the beginning of a discussion about free speech. Advertisers can't advertise products freely or any way they want. Nor should paid lobbyists be allowed to present themselves as anything other than what they actually are. It's not information and news providers that's for sure. I give Bolt every right to say what he wants but I don't give him the right to disguise himself.
Warmists is the term the 3% deniers coined as a substitute for scientists when discussing global warming issues. Further given the 97% consensus of global science one shouldn't be surprised that the majority of legitimate information out there is open to be published as opposed to the paucity of bad and poor science of deniers. 3:97% makes it extremely balanced.
There is no doubt today it's a political issue as well however the majority of politicians have taken advice from the science rather than purely the advocates of the fossil fuel industry and of course those few that reference god. Bolt is still a denier because it's in the financial interests of News Corp and influenced by Murdoch's personal bent. However things have changed. There is a saying I was reminded of by Richard Flanagan prize winning author. When he compared money to shit. If you let it just piles and pile up it starts to stink like shit but spread it around and things start to grow. Well it applies to the fossil fuel industry that just want to pile and control the $$. Australia was ranked 57th out of 58th from a survey done yearly for the past 10 years by "Climate Action Network Europe and German watch". Only Saudi Arabia fared worse.. Bolts personally commissioned survey as quoted by him is not referenced. We can only assume it was made up in his own lunch time by inverting the Germanwatch's survey and changing the title from worst to best. Making the Saudi's the most realistic. However given Bolt says Australia is the best in his he couldn't have been smart enough to do that. It therefore his has no validity and of course would get no press. Just another of Bolt's Wonderland facts.

Bolt takes a lot of context less twaddle and suggests there's a correlation between who a person's praises for someone as his lack of rationality for making decisions.
Firstly Doherty received a Nobel prize for science which is the most competent methodology upon which informed decisions are made about the world around us.
Second Doherty has read the science of climate change and supports its conclusions. As far as the worlds concerned it irrelevant that he at times prefers red heads to blondes or doesn't like tulips. It's his scientific competence that is of relevance. Bolt is an idiot who happens to like tulips and belongs to a clutch of idiots who work for News Corp whose arrogance is based on being lobbyists and advocates for the Fossil Fuel Industry. Now that is a relevant correlation.
There is one thing we can all be sure of Andrew Bolt has not read the book and he wont read the book but he will feel competent to talk about and espouse it's content. He will also emphasise that there is no correlation between the selection committee appointed by Tony Abbott and the content of the book itself. That unlike Professor Doherty Nobel prize winner the content is not biased even if the Colebatch might be. Let's wait for the reviews I look forward to Mike Carlton's
Thread here it Nick Carter one of Bolt's News Corp clutch generally referenced as a lead into a subscription ad for The Australian. This sort of blog is just a cut and paste space filler for Bolt it creates the the illusion of work when in fact there is none an could have been done by his dog.
