Departing ABC chief political correspondent Mark Simkin to head PM Tony Abbott's press team

The ABC's departing chief political correspondent Mark Simkin will lead Tony Abbott's media team in a behind-the-scenes shake-up announced by the Prime Minister late today.

A statement from the Prime Minister's office said Simkin would take up the role of head of the Prime Minister's press office in the new year.
Simkin's departure from the ABC was announced earlier today.
A former foreign correspondent, he has been the ABC's Canberra-based chief political correspondent for the past five years.
As part of the shake-up in the PM's press office, deputy chief of staff Andrew Hirst will take on a new role that will combine "strategic communications with overall responsibility for the Prime Minister's Press Office," the statement from the PM's office said.
The appointments will take effect in January.

Why police wouldn’t let Monis speak to Abbott

If that were the case why are the called negotiators? Negotiators are perceived  to build a relationship with the gunman and make some trade offs such as talking to the PM for the release of some hostages. The explanation seems provocative that "we intend to do nothing". Surely a  profile had been developed after 16 hours. It seems little or no negotiation was done.

Why does Bolt prioritise  the religious aspects of the action when Pakistan itself doesn't.  Why doesn't Bolt listen to Pakistan? Because he want's to import Islamaphobia to Australia and export Islam if he could. Does Bolt do anything other than try to demonise the Taliban which also have families  women and children killed in their struggle against the Pakistan government. No he doesn't,why? the last thing he wants is to consider the Taliban human with any just cause.

It doesn't suit his argument that it's not Islam that is the driving force in this war but  the repression felt by a minority of varying groups which Bolt lumps together as "The Muslim" Taliban. Dehumanising is his practice rids us any necessity of a closer examination of things. "Warmists", "Apologists" "Death Cult" are his tools of trade his camaflouge.

Israel can bomb schools and kill children as long as they are Palestinian and it's called defence and not in the slightest religious. The Taliban can attack army school that is driven by religion and not in defence or retaliation of anything. Bolt is a knuckle head

 

Why was Monis free and not watched?

A huge political celebration was made when Brandis passed the Bill for the enhanced security measures put in place to reduce our freedoms for safety's sake. This was $630 mill for our enhanced protection. Demonstration raids were carried out in show of these new security measures off which we were told were real. Monis who for 8years has been in the eye of our courts and  our justice system wasn't even on their radar why because he was just seen as a a nut case.  Abbott didn't ask the above question "why wasn't he watched" he repeated the question asked by us all well in advance of Abbott opening his mouth. Why doesn't his show piece security system work?  Because they never do the whole excercise was a political stunt. Like Scott Morrison Abbott will put in place  a long slow investigation that will culminate  somewhere down the track with appropriate excuses to absolve the government or agencies from blame. Bolt will let us know Tony's in control and got it all in hand.

Had it been a Shorten government would we hear Bolt the apologist saying we expect too much from our government. We don't . What we do expect is admission saying ASIO, the AFP and the government lied when they said the extra money was well spent and that they were now in control.  They never were in control and they aren't now. There isn't a war going on as they would like us to believe but there is crime and violent crime and it will continue to occur.   However the government agencies now have money to selectively focus on who and what they want to satisfy their paymasters  that's the only difference.

These Australians are significantly varied in culture most have been integrated in all walks of our life but for Bolt remain a stand out. They are not Christian.

It reminds me of the days when Catholics were second class citizens in this country when there was a regret that convicts sent here weren't only  protestant. Mixed marriages destroyed families and that was only 70 years ago. Now they are in government. Muslims are too Bolt but you don't inform of their integration. However given most Muslims are coloured it has another overlay which complicates things for Bolt  because he becomes a racist.
Bolt's single minded attack is on Islam his slogans, his arguments, all reek of bogan bias. His facts are just wrong. Bolt is Monis and I and the majority of Australians in this country refuse to believe him or Monis.

Why don't we raise the tax rate on those earning over 1 Mill to 60% or even 75% cut their spending. After all they are employees like us all. They don't face the risk that investors do. Excessive income should attract higher tax. Those on welfare are told to survive on $20,000  big difference between those on $1,000,000. It's a known fact the poorer persons  spend a greater % of their income on charity than the wealthy and they are door knocked constantly. Shouldn't the rich be asked to spend more on others isn't that what Hockey's calling for us to spend more, not only at Xmas?

There's no doubt Bolt has no shame in lying Abbott promised the 3 billion  for an infrastructure project it was to be either metro or road and the Libs chose road. Amanda Vanstone in the The AGE today lambasts columnists like Bolt who have the ego to believe they can control party room decisions. They flim flam about trying to destroy politicians characters and then try build them up .  Whatever story sounds good on the day. They are never up there to be judged by an electorate but merely by a 2-3 % readership at most. They have no validity in fact.

Amusing that on the Bolt Report,  Bolt was put down by Christopher Pyne  after Pyne criticised the media in general he thanked Bolt, the exception, for his re-election support . Bolt doesn't like to publically confirm his partisan support for Abbott. His arrogance coming to the fore "I'm trying to improve your performance" What an ego!!

Pyne went on to disagree with Bolt on at least 3-4 other issues. Lack of support for Hockey who Bolt is eager to see go..Wrong. 

Julie Bishop the senior MP being  chaperoned in Peru by Andrew Robb ....Wrong Given she's the senior she'd be chaperoning Robb Bolt.

 "you are rebuking what I know to be fact" cries Bolt waving his ego  at Pyne  without mentioning his source of fact. Only to hear Pyne declare "yes I certainly am"media boy.

Pyne also totally disagreed about  Bolt's view of  Peta Credlin  and the PM's office  needing  a media man like himself in control.

Low levels of love from James Delingpole for our tax-swilling luxury leftists:

Australia’s national broadcaster ABC has reportedly been staging brutal, Hunger-Games-style contests in order to decide which of its excess staff are for the chop.
If this is the plan I don’t think it’s going to work. The people at ABC are all, basically, Capitol-style pansy sybarites. They wouldn’t know what to do with a bow and arrow or a gun because they mostly eat tofu and think that hunting is for savages. None of them would make a dash for all those exciting weapons and supplies in the Cornucopia at the beginning. Instead, they would run squealing for their lives into the forest where they would quickly succumb to Flat White deprivation or be eaten by Australia’s totally out-of-control population of saltwater crocodiles. Or, if they fled into the sea, by Australia’s out-of-control killer shark population.
Those of you who think I am being unduly unsympathetic towards my hapless fellow journalists’ plight clearly haven’t experienced ABC at close quarters. I have. ABC swings so far to the left it makes the BBC look like Fox News.
