Bolt calls on Abbott to be given the same respect as the UN which neither Bolt or Abbott do. As the other countries on this list are not neighbors or major trading partners they also aren't highly ranked. If Abbott is equal in respect to them he certainly isn't doing terribly well.

This seems just a backhanded smear of Rudd. He didn't say that he wished anybody executed. Being on death row is no guarantee that an execution would take place. However he did give Indonesia the same respect he gives the the USA, China and Saudi Arabia. He's far more consistent than Bolt.

This isn't advocating Capital Punishment. Bolt is far more emphatic on that score that these 2 "drug smugglers" and should get their just deserts. He rarely mentions how reformed they were. What a two-faced hypocrite Bolt is. In the blog below he's advising Abbott to be very careful not to upset the Indonesia as their reactions might just be a political disadvantage for him and the economy and his polling.

Now here in this blog he claims Labor sells it's soul for the Muslim vote. Doesn't Bolt even notice his own hypocrisy? 6-8% swings aren't there because of the Muslim vote. 3% of the pop but 0.5% eligible to vote. What we have here is an intentional distortion.

Bolt doesn't seem aware that times have changed that the US is no longer the supporter of Israel it once was. Does he believe that pro Israel Jews really have much in common with the Republicans? There are a growing number of Jews in the USA and Europe that no longer support Israel financially or politiclly and they are openly critical of it and Netanyahu. In fact they support BDS. The mouse that roared Bolt is just stating the obvious and Abbott's the mouse. Shirtfront Putin by all means but tip toe when it comes to Indonesia. Bolt actually sounds like an old colonial adviser. He suggests that Indoenesia really has no intelligent or democratic government and needs an autocrat in charge. He sees it as nation of primitives easily lead by Islamists so the country is totally unpredictabe. This being the case Bolt shows just how weak Abbott in fact is needing his advice. As for the many unanswered phone calls made to Joko whose word do we have?
Bolt is a white racist, egocentric colonial who doesn't believe Indonesia is a mature democratic nation . Indonesia is a secular democratic state as witnessed and confirmed by their last election. The people defied the elite traditional ex-military oligarchy that existed before. They will soon to become the 3rd or 4th largest economy in the world with a military to match, a giant in the Pacific. If Bolt imagines that our relationship is of far greater importance to them than China he's living in cloud cuckoo land. Indonesia has a sovereign right to it's legal system as does Australia. Everybody seems to forget that these two Chan and Sukumaran were driven to their death by the AFP. That choice had nothing to do with Indonesisa.

Universities it would seem have a far more serious complaint Abbott's Captain's Call in making the appointment of Lomborg and then trying to cover it up . Initially the Prime Ministers Office said UWA approached them with the idea. However it turned out to be quite the reverse they approached UWA with a bribe. Academics do have a right to be concerned with regard how appointments are processed and qualification standards. These things should be clear and transparant otherwise qualifications earned are meaningless but so then is the institution. Is UWA just another arm of government where Andrew Bolt could be appointed professor of journalism? We haven't heard the last of this.

Bolt had that option, the right of appeal available to him. His lawyers seemed to advise against it why? Bolt could have fought for the principle he so strongly stands for. He could have financed it himself but didn't. Instead He chose to declare himself a martyr a 'free speech' Jihadi instead. How is it the industry didn't bestow that honour on him that he's done it largely alone? It takes another Murdochian like Janet Albrechtsen a self confessed secret listener of the left wing radio news to champion him. Isn't it strange if Bolt had been working for the ABC he would have been guilty and sacked.
