What is the meaning of contempt of court? Bolt holds a personal grudge against Jelena Popovic for having been found guilty of defamation against the Deputy Chief Magistrate. He believed he was innocent and unfairly treated then as well. A bit of a Taha himself.

Unemployment may have fallen however the figures do not represent the truth of what it means to be employed. There a considerable number of people employed but living below the poverty line.

The creation of jobs just to manipulate unemployment figures by governments is of little use either if the jobs aren't able to sustain life above the poverty line. The casualization of work has stripped workers of benefits and the drive to reduce penalty rates ensures people are finding it difficult to live from week to week. What is the incentive to work if the the work is irregular? Hasn't anybody noticed the increase in ads offering short term loans at extremely high interest rates so people can get through the week. These have become more frequent with since Abbott gained power. The wealth gap is widening as to is the income gap.
Bolt is dreaming if he believes transnationals give a toss about operating from Australia. That lowering their taxes will produce greater investment.They expect the government to drive wages down and until they do they will seek labor elsewhere. Whilst there is wealth here they will sell but not produce.When was the last time you rang a telco and heard an Australian voice offering help. Our banks are quietly moving off shore to India and soon our public services. Imagine the Australian ATO based in India as well. We will be sourcing our professional services there as well. It will be cheaper to have flights twice a week to Phuket.
There was a joke back in the sixties about Woomera our famed rocket range and why it even existed. We could have sold the plans to the Japanese and bought the rockets back at half the price. we are doing it with our subs. IS doesn't need to send people with
guns to Europe it has the internet to recruit any number of misguided
idealists already there. It has Western criminal organizations with
access to what ever is necessary waiting to do business with home grown
terrorists. IS certainly doesn't need trained personel to leave the
Middle East where their primary goals lie.

Fact there has been no compensation paid. $339 mill was paid by the Liberal govt prior to the election and is claimed by the consortium to be their costs. This was paid by O'Brien the then Treasurer. There seems an enormous urgency about revealing the" truth" of Dan Andrew's settlement with the consortium. It's not about truth but getting control of the narrative. It's the first principle of a PR exercise. The fact that Andrews has only paid what O'Brien had already paid the consortium before the election shows no penalty was paid however you won't hear that from Bolt. It's not how it's been presented either by the Herald Sun or by Andrew Bolt. Andrews has bought the consortium for 1$ and in doing so has merely allowed them to retain the money already recieved which they claim to be costs already incurred.
The Herald Sun headline reflects another story and the power of the Advocacy of News Corp rather than any news. PR firms first principle is to control the narrative. Any weakness of the Labor government is not having the media to oppose News Corp's right wing perversion of information sold as news. What is amusing however is they seem to be unable to do it for Tony Abbott.

Tony Abbott scrapped a government appointed independant body the Climate Commission. He hadn't realised the public out cry to his action would be the publically funded Climate Council that still gave voice to and reflected scientific research. Results that ran counter to his political and skeptic needs.
Thomas is a journalist not a scientist of any persuasion paid simply to undermine and throw doubt on reasoned thinking. He's little more than a carbon copy of publicists employed to do the same task for the Tobacco industry Bolt uses him as a shadow caster.
