LNP MPs stand shoulder to shoulder with the Far- Right self-interested idiots, QAnon, Proud Boys, UPL, Nazis and others all who don't believe in Democracy but do expect they like to govern us. These demonstrators are the mirror, a reflection, a reminder of what Germany looked like before Hitler took over. Any innocents who find themselves a part of these fascist protests encouraged and enabled by Morrison and other LNP politicians saying what Trump did that "good people exist on both sides" need to really reconsider who it is they have joined by their association and presence with. It's not Public Health is it and they are very much a minority when 95% of Victorians have voted to be vaccinated

A voting law in Georgia signed by the Republican governor which will mandate people voting by mail to provide photo ID has caused major uproar in the United States with many claiming the bill is racist. Major League Baseball decided to move its All-Star game from Atlanta, Georgia in protest to the law, while Georgia-based companies Coca-Cola and Delta Airlines have joined a bid to challenge the bill. Mr Bernardi said Coca-Cola requires ID to attend shareholder meetings, Delta Airlines mandates ID’s before boarding flights, and patrons cannot collect tickets to Major League Baseball games without an ID. “It's also worth pointing out that the conscience of MLB, Coca Cola and others in this woke hypocrisy camp, doesn't extend to the genocidal regime of the Communist party in China,” he said. “No, instead they sign massive Chinese deals claiming how important the market is to them, while the Chinese government exterminate Uighurs, harvest organs, perform forced sterilisations and generally trample over any human right they want to.” 

Isn't it strange that Andrew Bolt doesn't mention that not all people in Georgia are able to access the documents enabling them to get the official ID photos. That problem largely applies to Blacks and Latinos. To begin to compare them to company share holders is a bit 'rich' and totally deceptive and is in no way comparing apples with apples. The Republicans lost by 44000 votes in 3 states if only 3% of African Americans and Latinos who voted in 2020 are prevented from voting in 2022 and 2024 that's 240000. So there are other deterrents in the Bill like fewer drop boxes, polling booths placed in areas that have no bus routes and greater control over the election councils in each district. The elderly and infirm have to post their vote themselves and not have someone do it for them. As well as that making it a crime for any third party to provide water or food to those standing in line for hours on end waiting to get to the polling booth. Strange Bolt makes out the intent of the Bill is just about simplifying voting and convenience. What bullshit and misinformation but expected!

In 1984 the Citizens United Bill was passed giving corporations the "freedom" to act as individuals when it came to donations and party political support in American elections. The Republicans were the biggest supporters of that bill. The hypocrisy is now theirs because today they want to police that freedom and so it appears Andrew Bolt does too. It's the sort of thing you'd expect of collectivists like Putin would do.  Yes, it's what the CPA does and to think of it it's what the LNP does to the ABC. It's certainly the opposite of their claim to be a broad church of free thinking Republicans.

The Republican spite and anti democratic knee jerk was plain to see when they immediately reacted and tried to introduce a Bill raising the taxes by 10% on aviation fuel which they'd previously reduced for Delta. Senators and legislators publicly became 'Sleeping Giants' encouraging their supporters to drink Pepsi even though Atlanta was Coca Cola's headquarters. Yes, The GOP in Georgia began aping those that Andrew Bolt calls 'woke'. It's what the  Sleeping Giants do calling for the boycott of company products. Bolt screams foul if it's done to him. 

If corporate conscience was as sensitive as Bolt demands Coca Cola wouldn't be selling product or trading with Australia for a start given the way we treat asylum seekers and first nations peoples. He really isn't arguing for any principles or even policies is he? Only siding with the interest of the Putinesque Republicans.

Rupert Murdoch, the owner of Fox News and an associate of President Donald Trump, has told people close to him that he thinks Democrat Joe Biden will easily win the election.

The Daily Beast reported that Murdoch has told people in his circle that Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic has been less than ideal.

"The Australian-born billionaire is disgusted by Trump's handling of COVID-19, remarking that the president is his own worst enemy, that he is not listening to advice about how best to handle the pandemic, and that he's creating a never-ending crisis for his administration, according to three people who have spoken with Murdoch," The Daily Beast wrote.

Murdoch has long had access to Trump, who often tweets support for some of the Fox News programs. But the president has also been highly critical of other Fox shows, anchors, and the network's polls, which show him trailing Biden.

Murdoch, according to The Daily Beast, has not spoken to the president in weeks because the 89-year-old news mogul grew tired of Trump bashing his network. Murdoch even considered supporting Mike Bloomberg, a Republican-turned-Democrat who briefly ran for president earlier this year before exiting due to a lack of support.

Murdoch would not comment to The Daily Beast regarding its report, saying only, "No comment except I've never called Trump an idiot." That remark was in response to a claim in a book that said Murdoch spoke ill of Trump in 2016.

Bolt hates Democracies as they run on the principle that two parties in opposition can only progress in certain circumstances by "compromise". That act of "compromise" now has the Catholic Church's foot in the door. Render to Caesar....

The Catholic Church's whole history was one of compromise and and rarely a full on frontal attack or retreat. It had an unflattering history in Poland and Latin America where priests weren't in agreement with the Vatican. But then Bolt couldn't give a fuck about history it's only about winning. 

Prior to this "secret deal" as Bolt calls it priests existed in China  and they were "married" family men who operated in secret. The Catholic Church had all kinds of arrangements and shaped itself accordingly in different countries where they weren't officially welcomed. The only reason the Bishop in Hong Kong is pissed he may have simply lost some status his "savage attack" as Bolt  calls it has seen Bishops standing yelling without clothes on before left to compromise. There wont be a schism or storm of any size that Bolt makes out, Pope Francis is too well respected for that.

When it's a mass killing like what occurred in NZ and eyes turn to Andrew Bolt for his blatant history of Isamophobia what hppened he went into hiding for 3-4 days coming out a very meek version of himself pretending Muslim Lives Matter to him by saying All Lives Matter. When in reality he's helped raise hate of Muslims in Australia form 9% to 33% in a some six years. He's currently doing it to the Chinese.  In his eyes the opposite  is the case he doesn't believe they belong.. 

The question one might ask is why something that occurred on Friday is associated with what Macron said weeks ago and why Bolt is using it to sell subscriptions today and in France be brought up by Bolt today? Why is he deflecting attention away from current events more important to us? Dan Andrews seems to be winning his battle and has gained attention globally. One of the things that slipped by unnoticed this year was some troubling news about the state of democracy. While the world was busy with the pandemic, a Swedish research group published its annual study of the health of democracy worldwide.The topmost countries in the Varieties of Democracy report are Denmark, Estonia and Sweden. Australia ranks the 14th freest nation, the US No. 36 and China 174th out of 179. The only countries ranked lower are among the world's hell holes of suffering and repression – Syria, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Eritrea and North Korea. Australia turns out to be a beacon of liberty in a darkening world. But the metatrend towards illiberalism means that even the freest countries need to work on renewing their democracies.

Bolt denigrates minorities again

Andrew Bolt has not learned from previous adverse APC findings. Nor from losing the Popovic case. Nor from the absolute shellacking he copped from Justice Bromberg in the celebrated racial vilification case Eatock v Bolt.

His Herald Sun column in August 2019 referred to teenaged climate activist Greta Thunberg as ‘freakishly influential’ and ‘deeply disturbed’ and commented:

‘I have never seen a girl so young with so many mental disorders treated by so many adults as a guru.’

The APC slammed Bolt’s column, finding that ‘there was no public interest in undermining the credibility of a person, her opinions or her supporters on the basis of her disabilities...’.

The remedy

The APC has been in business now for 45 years. While its influence is positive overall, it has not curbed the continual distortions, falsehoods, character assassinations and smears published routinely by the Murdoch press.

For these to end, those publications must be shut down — as happened to News of the World in Britain in 2011 and to 60 unprofitable suburban and country newspapers in Australia this year.

So we must join and strengthen the boycott of the newspapers and their advertisers to ensure all Murdoch publications lose money and eventually disappear. Sooner the better.

They are down almost 40% in thpast 5 years and you can see Bolt ready to Bolt but he loves the money too much. Foxtel is looking just as jaundiced.

We can see what Bolt spends his time doing while on his PC typing away in the Newd himself or watching it. 

 Covid-19 could be likened to Novichok, the deadly Russian nerve agent. We know it's there. We know it's poisonous and quickly spread, but we don't know where it is. One person, yes, only one person untraced in the community could be another super spreader.  Even if found, we don't know where they have or could have been could or are the trigger for another chain reaction?

The social system under which we operate was grossly inadequate, and it's that which Dan Andrews is changing and with the support of the Victorian public.

There is no "bullying". There is Public Interest. Bolt has no position on Public Interest of any kind other than his. It's in the guise that the individual is a stand-alone entity free to do whatever he wants.  Yes, it's all about Bolt, and if he doesn't like what you are doing,he will muster all his power to gather like-minded people to stop you. The result is the minority rule. Andrews was elected to Public Service to serve the interests of us all, not Bolt's minority alone. That's what Bolt is railing about that his claims are privileged and diminished by Dan's attention to Public Service.
