 The very act of publicizing a minority of citizens as a threat to Australia is a purposeful tactic the equivalent of  calling out LGBTs  as terrorists,or Indigenous as a danger. simply  They are all just political pawns who  Bolt and the government find useful. Scott Morrison promoted the idea after witnessing the Cronulla riots and that's documented. Minorities of all kinds can become pawns in Bolt's moral and divisive posturing. It's the promotion of hate. The fact that he's allowed to do it says more about our government and the means they're prepared to go  to stay in power. It's a manufactured issue to deflect attention from the economic main game, a political tactic.

Bolt's role is not to convince  conservatives. They already live in a conservative mind bubble. His role is to confuse the moderate center and garner votes by appealing to the personal bias of swinging voters whose economic well being is being eroded under their noses by the corporate rape of this country. It's the media magician's sleight of hand that allows 90% of us to be ripped off by drawing attention away from our real loss. Hockey explained it clearly on Q&A. With interest rates at 2% conservatives with $5 million in super can only make $100k p.a he can't tax them or they will vote Labour in protest and convince others to as well. After all they were making $350,000 under Gillard.  It's these issues Bolt avoids. That most Australians just live day to day,  are carrying huge debt and are simply scrounging.  As far as Bolt is concerned this is America's war and no longer Australia's. It's  too much of an embarrassment for Abbott as our leader. Our troops are running away not fighting. So now Abbott needs to be critical of  Obama but he can't be direct  for God's oops I mean  GOP's sake. Murdoch media will do the job for him because they are already doing it in the USA with Fox News. May be Abbott can go back and lead the attack on Russia in the Ukraine and bolster his commander in chief look.

For Bolt Iraq is  as  simple as a computer game like Tour of Duty  he  supplies instructions . The game he wants to play however is real and named The Wholesale War of Terror. With 1 million Iraqis already dead Bolt wants to up the ante and go for 2-3million. If the property was owned by Hockey's wife's Self Managed Super Fund that income would be tax free a saving of some $30,000. However is it at "arms length"?
