Tony Abbott fires warning shot at Coalition over energy policy

How Abbott, how conservative the policy has to be ” a point of difference” rather than any national Interest that needs solving. This response is so typical of why Captain Nope Abbott lead us in a race to the bottom when he was PM. Back then he did it with fake news and fully assisted by Murdoch’s News Corp. He’s not interested in problem-solving for a Nation just himself and his side, which are in fact one and the same. He took us to a place we hadn’t ever been before. A Global political outlier, a joke and yes he wants us back there today. Craig Kelly has taken the words from Abbott’s mouth. (ODT)

Liberal MP Craig Kelly also spoke during the Tuesday debate to argue that energy policy had to remain a point of difference between the Coalition and Labor.

Australian businesses in China say there is plenty to lose

" The peak business group for Australian companies in China has labelled political commentary out of Australia “unhelpful” in the wake of Liberal MP Andrew Hastie's use of parliamentary privilege to call the Chinese government a threat to Australian democracy."

News Corp and its commentators have been China bashing and doing it shamelessly whenever it suits their domestic conservative politics but never mention Abbott's place in our history. Andrew Bolt was extremely proactive in the removal of Sam Dastyari and railing at the ALP donations received when the Liberal party was accepting donations from the same people as Sam was. No concern was given to China bashing then and it's consequences for Australian businesses or their investment in China. No concern for our largest exports either all heavily involved with China. Rupert Murdoch's personal grievances and ambitions had pride of place with using China as a political football to embarrass Julie Bishop and Malcolm Turnbull for Tony's sake.
Sam wasn't the only anti-China position taken either. Today Senator Jim Molan is along with Andrew Hastie are boosted for their anti-Sino positions on Sky News and News corps nationwide print and it's loud. No mention, however, is given to Tony Abbott's successful efforts to close down the ABC's Radio Australia the heart of our influence in the Pacific for 75 years. Abbott created the vacuum for the Chinese to move in and take pride of place in the daily lives of the Pacific Islanders.
The conservative response to all of this is has been "don't worry any pushback with China will be short-lived " Isn't that how Kim Jong Un plays America and how Trump does business? Diplomacy no longer has any place in today's conservative political maneuvering.
Wake up Australia Abbott did nothing when he was named Pillock of the Pacific by America he did absolutely nothing and as a result, gave away the South China Sea in his personal focus on Europe and have us become honorary members of NATO. Shirtfronting Putin was going to be his historic mark.....ask Jim Molan & Andrew Hastie who never mention it when yelling "too late".

In US, national and personal progress are different things - Opinion - Chinadaily.com.cn

anti -China and Bolt Ignorance of the LNP with it's systemic 'me' rather than 'we' institutions

1) China's middle-income earners had reached 400 million and are still growing.

2)Charlene Barshefsky, former US chief trade negotiator  is a rock star in China

"Because it's always important to be reminded that the ultimate aspirations most people in the world have are pretty much the same," she said.:

When walking on the street she met a couple with a baby

"Then he took my arm and he waited till someone passed who spoke English, and as translated by this lovely fellow who stopped, he said, 'I wanted to thank you. My son will have a better life'," Barshefsky said, appreciating his politeness and how an average Chinese would anticipate the opportunities arising from the country's entry into the WTO.
"I'll never forget this," Barshefsky said. It was the moment she realized the Chinese, too, have common aspirations, including a better life for their children. "He knew what WTO meant…This was completely astonishing to me, he equated economic improvements with personal improvements," she said.
That equation is what's missing in the United States, where economic improvement of the country is no longer viewed as personal improvement, she said. It is partly because of the absence of domestic policy measures to distribute US national wealth in a more equitable way, whether through better education, retraining or other measures, which would equate the rest of the country with national growth, she said.
"But this gentleman simply equated economic improvement with personal improvement…," she said. And in China, "this is the case-there's been extraordinary degrees of improvement in the lives of the people".
However, you will never hear Andrew Bolt or ant conservatives saying that.

THE ABC: Coalition aims to cripple national broadcaster

"Putting Mitch Fifield in charge of the ABC as part of the communications portfolio is akin to putting the fox in charge of the chicken run. As Tony Walker writes (Comment, 28/5), Fifield "might pretend he's a friend of the ABC on occasions" but in reality, he is continuing the salami-style reduction of ABC funding. Lack of funds reduces the ability to adequately research information for programs. It encourages resort to cheap panel shows, to repeat programs both home-made and from overseas."

The aim must be to cripple the ABC, to prevent the flow of accurate information to the public, to diminish the spread of cultural programs and to reduce a once-proud quality broadcaster to the level of ad-laden cooking shows shown on commercial TV stations and whipped up outrage by shock jocks on commercial radio.
