Bolt works for a company News Corp complicit in taking all of us for millions of dollars in tax minimisation and evasion and he has the gall to turn around and saying the Pacific Islands are taking us for millions of dollars.
Australia's Foreign Aid budget has been reduced by some 25% it was at it's highest 0.5% when Menzies was in power and since Abbott, it was halved from the Rudd Gillard years even though GDP has gone up. It's been cut 5 years in a row so much so we lag behind the world's wealthiest nations to a point our contributions are the lowest in our 60-year history. Today we spend $0.22 of every $100 dollars.
- Australia lags behind many other countries, including the UK, which has lifted its aid contribution to 70 cents in every $100.
- Australia’s aid budget ranks today one of the lowest 3 out of the 29 wealthy OECD member nations, despite the fact that we have one of the highest per capita incomes in the world and Bolt is calling us to be last.
Bolt reflects the contrary and hypocritical positions the Abbott government has taken on the Pacific. Abbott the Pivot of the Pacific turned his back on it when he closed down Radio Australia after 75 years and cut Foreign Aid. Yet the Conservatives while opening the gate to China are crying out for a more headstrong approach to our biggest trading partner. Bolt says we need stronger policies but in the same breath telling us to give up our developing neighbours. A little less than 3 years ago the Foreign Aid budget was being looted to pay for their detention centres something Murdochians would no doubt want to see increased.

He doesn't he hasn't the knowledge of the 50s, 60,s or even the 70s or 80s he seems to have missed the experience of urban street fighting and drunken brawling that's always been part of the streetscape of Melbourne He even seems to have missed the country view of Australia as shown in Wake in Fright. The fact is Andrew Bolt was never raised or brought up in this country and the country he seems to want to talk about doesn't exist.
The only reasons for trying to suggest there's a current exceptionalism now is because of colour and Africans are black so much so he avoids mentioning they are in the main Christians too as are the Pacific Islanders and NZers and Aborigines more practising Christians than in fact White Australia is. The avoidance being he was so adamant that Church-going Christians aren't violent as the ABC's Julia Baird had said. How much can Bolt edit output in and compress his story to fit his racist arguments on South Sudanese and other Africans trumpeting "you're not wanted" like Alan Jones did to incite the Cronulla riots of 2005?
Sensationalism and the selling of media isn't Bolt's purpose alone it's Abbott's political dog whistle about Team Australia that's his main focus and where did Abbott get it from other than Margret Thatcher but Scomo himself who put it to the Liberal Party back in 2005/6 that it was the way to go to garner votes by fragmentation and division amplifying cultural differences to distract from being aware of the economic similarities of working Australians. Immigration, Religion, Sexuality, the ABC etc were the opportunity to divide and fragment an otherwise working nation that might unite to throw do nothing LNP governments out of office. Bolt's not followed by many anyway but the Murdoch and MSM chorus is and it produces a wall of sound bytes within which we move and help pattern our behaviours. It's the why and wherefore of those patterns that are facts that need revealing that conservatives don't.(ODT)
