Are Sudanese people over-represented in crime stats?

So are Sudanese people over-represented in Victoria’s crime statistics? If someone breaks into your house or steals your car the likelihood of them being Sudanese-born is very low. But relative to their portion of the population, Sudanese-born Victorians have a rate of offending which far exceeds that of the general community.
It has been presented alongside figures on the size of the population to give a sense of proportion, but keep in mind that in this case, this information is not one to one. If a small group of people carries out multiple offenses it can greatly boost the rate for the entire community, particularly if that community is small in size.
For example, there were five aggravated robberies carried out last year by those born in Liberia – a rate of 7.2 incidents for every 1000 people from that country.

But what if those five aggravated burglaries were all carried out by the same person? That one person has single-handedly given Liberians in Victoria one of the highest rates of the crime, even though the other 689 would not have had any involvement in aggravated robberies.

Andrew Bolt makes no concessions when he focuses on the Sudanese in Victoria and its why he's racist. He not only points out that Victorians are more likely to encounter Sudanese in crime and are justified to live in fear he mocks their daughters and the community efforts to run beauty pageants. He doesn't mention any of the positives only the negatives.

 If he did this to the Dutch community in Victoria he could just as easily make Victorians scared of shaking hands with a Dutchman making it simply about say, their lack of generosity because Andrew Bolt himself is living proof of that. He gives "Going Dutch" full meaning being a "loner" and no desire to integrate it's not what he calls his "shyness" but he was brought up socialized in a "satellite family that didn't want to integrate and taught not to share now that's true Dutch. The very type of family he rails about only white not black but social deviants nevertheless.

Here we have a perfect example of Andrew Bolt's laser-like focus on the Sudanese involved in some 850 criminal incidents of  85,000. One might well ask why he uses the descriptive "some" for Pacific Islanders when Nzers are higher ranked than the Sudanese who are only 6th on the stats ladder. Why have they become Bolt's punching bag because they're "black".

Bolt's tickled pink by the fact the police have new riot weapons brought about by the politics conservatives have created about the fake criminal stats and cries of panic News Corp has broadcast for the purpose of the up and coming election. The only pushback to the obvious shove by the News Corp corporation isn't real news about an immigrant group but fake opinion and alarm sold as news to assist the State opposition leader Matthew Guy whose in hot water himself for the real deals and cover-ups he's made at Ventnor and Fisherman's Bend. Front page distraction at the expense of refugees selected out fro politics as the Lebanese were in Cronulla in 2005 by 2GB. Goebells once blamed the Jews in much the same way as Bolt is doing here the context not really very different.

PRIME MINISTER NOT-AS-BAD NEEDS A PLAN

Column Scott Morrison is already running out of time. He still can’t explain why he is our new Prime Minister. Morrison is making it easy for Labor to whack him by simply aiming to be Prime Minister Not-As-Bad.  Result: without doing something bold, he's being pecked to death on trivia like au pairs and the fact-free claims of bullying.

So much for the promise of "service and unity" promised by Tony Abbott after his revenge against Turnbull. There's no "game change" Bolt's still the organ grinders monkey and Murdoch's plan of nope nope nope is still in place to ensure real change doesn't go by way of compromise on anything. There won't be another challenge to Morrison who at least cleared out and scraped away the barnacles left by Abbott barnacle policies that had an iceblocks chance in hell of being carried.

NEW YORK TIMES BLAMES GLOBAL WARMING FOR FEDERER LOSS

The New York Times blames global warming for Roger Federer's loss at the US Open: "Federer... seemed to struggle all night in the heat and humidity..., losing in a fourth-round upset to John Millman... Under climate change, overall temperatures are rising." The latest measurement shows temperatures just 0.19 degrees above average.

 The only person who mentions "global warming " is Andrew Bolt using his fake news license covered by free speech in a News Corp sponsored blog that's a news free and journalistic absent zone. What is amusing in this trivial article is Bolt's use of Roy Spencer's graph the same Roy Spencer data and graphs he used to prove to us the planet was cooling for 20 years.
As for the NYT Banner well it simply shows how desperate the media are to gain attention and even Bolt is ready to promote that banner as being real and not just NYT's folly when he is employed by News Corp is a greater joke because he wants to be taken seriously and with an element of trust. That is the insult to the Australian Public and Bolt's use of Spencer's graph and the seriousness he pays to a media tongue in cheek banner is proof of that.

A BUDGET SURPLUS MIGHT NOW SAVE MORRISON GOVERNMENT

Terry McCrann is the first to note a possible game-changer for the Liberals: "There's now a very real chance that new Treasurer Josh Frydenberg just might get to kick off by announcing the Budget had actually got back into surplus for the first time in 10 years. .. All this flows from yesterday’s better-than-expected GDP growth figures."

Trying to achieve a budget surplus for a print media that can only produce a deficit for News Corp.  If Tony Abbott couldn't achieve a budget surplus what makes Bolt and McCrann demand that Morrison must have one. Conservatives really only bat for one side, don't they? Abbott was a hero surplus or not hated or not and the bar lowered for him but raised it seems for anyone else. This demand wouldn't have been placed on Dutton.

These conservatives remain what they are conservatives who never mention just how any increase in GDP is in fact shared and by whom. Their mates in business class get X5 times more than what has been doled out to workers and their so-called job success has seen us slide from 3rd  to 6th on the unemployment ladder. Hardly a success in anyone's eyes and they seem eager to ignore that and the other downward slides that are in progress in education and the NBN etc

 

WHY DIDN'T JULIE BISHOP SEE BULLIES FOR 20 YEARS?

Julie Bishop has been in politics for 20 years and became deputy Liberal leader. But only now, after colleagues failed to make her Prime Minister, does she see and declare the Liberals suffer from bullies and sexists: "I have seen and witnessed and experienced some appalling behaviour in Parliament." We saw Bolt back off very quickly when a woman Miranda Devine barked back at him trying to bully her. He was flummoxed and on National radio too. Julie Bishop like Devine were both brought up in male-dominated worlds. When Bishop went into politics she was well prepared and didn't feel the need to change it but to survive it and that's clear from what she is saying. However, the women Bolt sees as weak actually are demanding it's time for a change and Bishop agreesBolt's whack-a-mole comment says she only made that statement out of "sour grapes".

THE GREENS ARE WHAT THEY CONDEMN

Two legs good, four legs bad: "The Australian Greens party is facing more claims of sexism, with a former state leader accused of referring to women in the workplace as 'fat, hairy lesbians', 'power pussies' and 'hairy-legged feminists'.  Former Victorian Greens party leader, Greg Barber, is also accused of having a 'men's room'."

Nobody suggested that the Liberals were the only misogynists in politics is he using this post as an apologist or a distraction to Liberal behavior. He could well have used the Nationals couldn't he or One Nation in reverse. After all, Hanson was also socialized by Tony Abbott who worked like stink to have her thrown in jail to steal her policies.

When you can't address an issue head-on deflect it and call it trivial. However, the issue of misleading Parliament has been totally ignored and that's what Dutton did he mislead the Parliament saying his decisions were at arms length and he had no relationship with those they benefitted. Henderson ignores that altogether.

THIEVES AND SCOUNDRELS

First, Victoria's Labor Government stole $400,000 from taxpayers to pay for party campaigners. Now, to embarrass Liberal leader Matthew Guy, it dumps 80,000 documents on the Internet to expose deals he made as Planning Minister. Not only did this breach Cabinet confidentiality, but the files included a woman’s medical history and financial details.

Same as Henderson Bolt is trying to deflect issues Matthew Guy tried to hide and are now evident that's what he was trying to do and conflating them with issues still to be resolved. Is the "dumping of truth" the crime here? It's a reminder of how hard the conservatives argued against the Royal Commission into Banks because it would mean the dumping of truth about the bank's practices and the Retail Super Company truths. Guess Bolt found that too hard to conflate with say Craig Thompson's $13k dip into the petty cash box.

Someone who was in Cabinet is leaking almost daily to wreck Scott Morrison's chances as the new Prime Minister. Today's leak also takes particular care to hurt Finance Minister Matthias Cormann, who displaced Julie Bishop as the Liberal kingmaker in Western Australia. So which Turnbullite is dishing the dirt?

Bolt's been trying ever so hard to ensure everyone is against Morrison for having shifted Turnbull and have now grievances against the PM. Sorry doesn't fit. Any grievances held are the thrashing of the conservative coup and the losers beaten by Turnbull to call the spill to promote his man to the top not the conservatives choice Peter Dutton who had no chance of winning. We heard Abbott say after he was behind Morrison we also heard him say he was behind Turnbull so there's one thing certain there is no unity in the Liberal Party which a room of people playing Liar's Poker and the biggest player of that game has always been Mr. Abbott.
