Morrison the marketeer follows the polls, and witnesses his poopularity is on the rise.

The latest Newspoll conducted for The Australian newspaper and published on Sunday night found Mr Morrison’s approval rating had fallen from its high of 85 per cent in April 2020 to just 48 per cent in the latest survey conducted between August 4 and 7. It equates to a four-point drop in only three weeks, and is the first time the PM’s performance has fallen into net negative territory since March 2020. When translated to voting intentions, it leaves Labor leading the Coalition 53-47 on a two-party-preferred basis and the government facing its worst electoral position since the Black Saturday bushfires crisis in 2019-20.

No, these lockdowns won’t end with vaccinations.

They’ll end only when Australians grow up and take responsibility for their own health — and death.

Right now many Australians seem happy to hand their freedom to Big Government, to be returned when our politicians hit some magic target.

And so Prime Minister Scott Morrison was praised last week for promising we’d be finally free from the threat of lockdowns when he got 80 per cent of adults vaccinated.

Like maybe next year.

Morrison stressed that this target, agreed with the Premiers, was set by scientists.

Ah, science! Except this isn’t really about science but values.

We know what Bolt's values are. They are clear and patently obvious because Covid-19 isn't a social construct but it's distribution is a reflection of the community in which it finds itself. In our case and that's not an equal one and Public Health actions are an effort to counter that imbalance. Bolt's values are to keep that inequality in tact and any effort to alter it needs to be challenged. Simply put Andrew Bolt sees himself in a privileged position and wants it kept that way.  The science of the pandemic challenges that, as does the science of race, and global warming all of which demand action that requires radical change for the optimal and improved human outcome. It's no coincidence that Bolt challenges any effort to counter and deny any critical examination of the data social reality reveals. Bolt is fighting for Andrew Bolt's interests which are aligned with those he works for.

NO, PM. LOCKDOWNS WON’T END UNTIL WE GROW UP

 

I’m sure sick of one thing in this pandemic — all the 100-per-centers that it’s unleashed. From the most supposedly expert to the most tin-foil-hat conspiracy nutter, you now see a panicking mob that’s too scared to see all the greys.

Racism has no "grey areas" you are or you're not a racist not just a little and Andrew Bolt is. Global warming has no "grey areas" the planet is warming and it's man made. Only Bolt and his ilk want to confuse the issue. The Pandemic has no " grey areas" it's occurring. To talk of "grey areas" ultimately denies any universal values or the truth of the cold hard rational facts to achieve the best outcome for everyone. The distribution of the disease is a social construct and also man made.

There maybe no 100-per-centers but there are certainly those with high probability on their side and Andrew Bolt isn't one. He is a paid influencer driving misinformation for the interests of the minority 1%   far from wanting to benefit all of us. Inequality is a matter of fact in Australia and it's social, not an evolutionary construct. As such for any successful outcome to be a priority in the fight against this pandemic social change is a necessity. Without the accompanying change Covid will remain with us and luck won't be the cause of it's social and random distribution. However Andrew Bolt won't be part of the currently protected and privileged few. So yes, Public Health and social change are a danger that his seemingly exclusive privilege might be lost or watered down statistically because that of the majority will be improved. Any wide social change in that direction bothers him.
