NewsCorp have thrown down the Gauntlet - Its All Labors Fault !!

 

NewsCorp and it's so called Journalists say, "We need to hold Labor to account on the debt and deficit disaster."

 

It’s time to stop the creeping ‘middle-aged spread’ and stop spending more than we earn by getting the budget under control.

 

Yet, NewsCorp now wants to forget the past and blame everything on Labor. The last 9 years of damage the Liberals have caused is incalculable.

 

And so the blame shifting begins, now we have the Liberals in Opposition and still the BIAS of NewsCorp comes through as they run interference for Dutton and his fellow travelers absolving them of all blame for the mess Australia finds it self in.

 

Firstly, the new Federal Government can stop the corporate welfare to NewsCorp and better still NewsCorp can start paying tax.

 

The same applies to the Mining Industry, stop the handouts. 

 

Then lets have a Royal Commission into the activities of NewsCorp and its relationship with the Liberal Party.

 

That would certainly be a good start.

Half a million Australians have called for a Royal Commission into Rupert Murdoch’s abuse of power and Australia’s media concentration. But are News Corp thuggery and media diversity really the main game? Michael West investigates a mollycoddled media.

The irony of course is that the government interferes. It interferes to compel Google and Facebook to pay money to its allies News Corp and Nine. It interferes to give cash handouts to mainstream media; multi-million cash grants to Foxtel, millions in JobKeeper subsidies to Nine, Seven and others.

It interferes to subsidise its mates but will not interfere to increase competition and fairness in media by reforming defamation, indeed by being real champions of free speech rather than rhetorical poseurs.

So defamation, in our view, is the greatest threat to the rise of independent media. Without public subsidies, as they hide their soi disant “Independent. Always.” journalism behind paywalls, independent media would put old media to the sword. Indeed, it will anyway, but there will be a fight.

Meantime, government policy is strongly skewed to keeping its media allies afloat, pumping out the messaging, and undermining smaller innovative media companies who don’t kow-tow.

Defence Minister Peter Dutton has even claimed the public ought to subsidise a special defamation fund for politicians to sue their critics.

The legislation is an attempt to shield the Morrison Government from legal challenges currently in the courts against lifetime detention of refugees. In April, the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights raised concerns that the legislation would result in fewer checks on indefinite detention and had sought clarification from the Minister. No response was published before the legislation was rushed through Parliament.

“The legislation exposes Minister Andrew’s willingness to leave growing numbers of refugees languishing in detention without any plan.

“The government should not have the power to lock people up for potentially the rest of their lives without any safeguards. Isn't this exactly what Morrison has been doing one blaming everyone else rather than doing the job he was elected to do. That wall of silence simply allowed for greater corruption and obsfacation to flourish.

 Without Murdoch's quasi outsourced government Media pointing the finger at Rudd for telling the truth or yelling "look over there" at China to blame Morrison's incompetence and corruption would stand out like an erupting volcano. We have an ineffective media watch dog silenced in even reporting the number of complaints against Newscorp and Sky for their false reporting and dangerous misinformation. Had we we just might just have a Democracy rather than being run by an oliargarchy. 

China kicked Murdoch out. The UK almost did and the US foolishly allowed him in and now wish they hadn't. Rudd a lone voice has currently replaced our media watch dog who has been fed drugged steak and hobbled silenced unable to even publish the number of complaints against Murdoch media let alone what thay are. While ABC these past 8 years has been defunded by this current government and Murdoch gifted and allowed to flourish as the outsourced government voice. Meanwhile we have been rorted, robo-copped, wage-raped, and blamed for every criminal act this government and it's masters have been free to perform in plainsight and slapped on the wrist when caught. Yesterday's example Woodside's $40 mill theft from its employees super fund an accident? No, totally predictable committed in broad daylight these past 8 years and now deemed an accident.

No, these lockdowns won’t end with vaccinations.

They’ll end only when Australians grow up and take responsibility for their own health — and death.

Right now many Australians seem happy to hand their freedom to Big Government, to be returned when our politicians hit some magic target.

And so Prime Minister Scott Morrison was praised last week for promising we’d be finally free from the threat of lockdowns when he got 80 per cent of adults vaccinated.

Like maybe next year.

Morrison stressed that this target, agreed with the Premiers, was set by scientists.

Ah, science! Except this isn’t really about science but values.

We know what Bolt's values are. They are clear and patently obvious because Covid-19 isn't a social construct but it's distribution is a reflection of the community in which it finds itself. In our case and that's not an equal one and Public Health actions are an effort to counter that imbalance. Bolt's values are to keep that inequality in tact and any effort to alter it needs to be challenged. Simply put Andrew Bolt sees himself in a privileged position and wants it kept that way.  The science of the pandemic challenges that, as does the science of race, and global warming all of which demand action that requires radical change for the optimal and improved human outcome. It's no coincidence that Bolt challenges any effort to counter and deny any critical examination of the data social reality reveals. Bolt is fighting for Andrew Bolt's interests which are aligned with those he works for.

NO, PM. LOCKDOWNS WON’T END UNTIL WE GROW UP

 

I’m sure sick of one thing in this pandemic — all the 100-per-centers that it’s unleashed. From the most supposedly expert to the most tin-foil-hat conspiracy nutter, you now see a panicking mob that’s too scared to see all the greys.

Racism has no "grey areas" you are or you're not a racist not just a little and Andrew Bolt is. Global warming has no "grey areas" the planet is warming and it's man made. Only Bolt and his ilk want to confuse the issue. The Pandemic has no " grey areas" it's occurring. To talk of "grey areas" ultimately denies any universal values or the truth of the cold hard rational facts to achieve the best outcome for everyone. The distribution of the disease is a social construct and also man made.

There maybe no 100-per-centers but there are certainly those with high probability on their side and Andrew Bolt isn't one. He is a paid influencer driving misinformation for the interests of the minority 1%   far from wanting to benefit all of us. Inequality is a matter of fact in Australia and it's social, not an evolutionary construct. As such for any successful outcome to be a priority in the fight against this pandemic social change is a necessity. Without the accompanying change Covid will remain with us and luck won't be the cause of it's social and random distribution. However Andrew Bolt won't be part of the currently protected and privileged few. So yes, Public Health and social change are a danger that his seemingly exclusive privilege might be lost or watered down statistically because that of the majority will be improved. Any wide social change in that direction bothers him.
