Australians are about to be tested after the release of two reports today into the cricket cheating scandal. Our test is this: do we really want our cricketers to play fairly if they don't actually win? My editorial from The Bolt Report.

One might ask, " what's new that Bolt has to offer Australia about the reports released on cricket that so many others like the ABC and elsewhere have offered? " Others that actually know something about the game and are consequently coherent. Did Bolt actually get his ideas off Mr Magoo? He's certainly not original and nor does he address the specific changes of the game itself within any historical context. His conclusion even appears to be so truncated that the end was left on the editing floor because it makes it made little or no sense to the editor. But then when has Bolt ever needed to make sense in his editorials?
 There's no mention of cricket's increasing commodification driven by money and boards chasing it above all else. Money has changed the nature of the game to fit the demands of a TV spectacle to attract its advertisers. None of this commodification of the game is mentioned by Bolt.  How a team game has been reduced to a gladiator sport to win at all costs it's essence. That cricket is no longer recognizable to what it historically was. That has escaped Bolt but then did he ever play the game?  He even said he hasn't supported it for years which is clear as his editorial isn't
Fairy Floss and mumble mumble and a mysterious connection missed. I suggest people turn on to the ABC's Iview and The Drum and listen to an expert like Cate McGregor for a real professional opinion about these two reports and their relevance to cricket because you will never get any sense out of Bolt.  Listen to McGregor and then go back to Andrew Bolt and you will see and hear what a real opinion on the topic of cricket is and what a waste of time watching Andrew Bolt waffle and Bolt Report is. ABC PREACHES WARMING, IGNORES SCIENCE

The ABC today continued its hyping of global warming. Scientist Michael Asten says what the ABC won't: "Australians do not appreciate the level of doubt about IPCC science in the science community. We agree the global climate has warmed in the past century. What is in doubt is the relative contribution of natural variations and anthropogenic CO2."

 Bolt knows he can't be consistent when it comes to Climate Change because he'd be too easily caught out so for a while its straight out abuse Climate Science isn't science at all it's a religion a cult there is absolutely nothing to it. Asten himself isn't he's a part-time researcher in "mineral exploration" sounds a lot like Mining to anyone else and yes I'm sure there are scientists working for coal companies that would agree with him just as there are scientists in the tobacco industry that deny smoking causes cancer.
Bolt's use of the non-specific terms Scientist, hyping the level of doubt come up with yes the old cherry an unnamed number of scientists doubt global warming. Well, that old cherry was put to bed years ago when the number was specified as 3% of the specialists in the field. Bolt's use of data needs to be amplified it really does as he spent some 20 years telling us the planet was cooling that is if you take as your starting point the exceptional year of 1998. Today that's been now turned to pausing despite the fact that we have witnessed records being broken year in and year out since the turn of the century. It's strange isn't it 97% of specialists 190 plus nations, business finance and technology sectors throughout the world agree on man-made global warming and Bolt the swinger looks for people who generally are yesterday's men to put out a paid message that the world is wrong and we don't need to spend money on a planet that looks after itself. I wonder how long Bolt will be silent for again?

The ABC reports not on "it's dogma" but on science, the politics of science, and in what Bolt calls soft reporting it even gives his minority world of deniers a far greater amount of time their 3% deserve. than what Andrew Bolt gives the 97% of scientists that agree. It seems Bolt is simply a warning system not about data or evidence but against any media of influence addressing the matter. In this case, the ABC He, on the other hand, is left promoting the obscure, unqualified not sceptics but simply deniers. Phelps goes on the ABC because she knows she has an audience there that represents all political views but agrees on the climate change. Bolt can't say that. Phelps can greet and meet the public anywhere, Bolt can't and won't do that.

 Australia's practising white Christians are a seriously shrinking number yet committ crimes that do more harm than any other group in the community. Not only that but their members are the most wealthiest and institutionally recognized in the community. Religious and secular institutions that deal directly with children stand out. Women's refuges stand witness to crimes comitted in the family as does the Family Court. Bolt however doesn't refer to that evidence only that provided by the  the criminal justice system. Which starngely enough has been only today acknowledged in a report as totally biased when dealing with Australian Indigenous peoples. Now that's a link Bolt doesn't provide and here he is accusing Baird of ommission.

The  challenge for Bolt is to deny that he singles out colored evangelical Christian as the most dysfunctional groups in Australia. I might add it's no coincidence that he singles out the Lebanese in Australia too of which the majority are Christian too. KENNETT SHOWS LEADERSHIP WHERE LITTLE EXISTS

Wow, Kennet resigns a board position because of a Labour error of judgement. It's a bit like a spectator left the game of cricket the only thing is in politics the game is not forfeited it continues so Kennet's action has done nothing other than drawn attention to Kennet. Andrew Bolt's definition of vicious and deceptive is to protest vicious and deceptive does that make sense. It appears Human Rights is best served in Australia to be singularly different to other countries and have no Human Rights Bill whatsoever. That way governments can sign and break agreements without being vicious or deceptive as Peter Dutton is doing calling  Asylum Seekers illegals and punishing children because they to have been called illegals. But no Bolt says because the batteries are bigger and can store more "Clean Energy". Somehow the storage of more clean energy and its demand is the danger. He overlooked the fact that all Power generators are transitioning away from coal too. In fact, this summer renewables produced more electricity than brown coal oops, Bolt missed that.

Just like the cricketers, the team might employ people like Bolt but the players are independent self-employed and stardom becomes primary to the Game. There is a bank of lawyers paid to defend them as they operate on the edge. So "not getting caught" applies equally in which verifiable News was once the name of the game.  But that's now the least of its goals. Andrew Bolt is the living proof of cheating the system which gave rise to what we see in cricket today.

While over 33% of our Corporations are avoiding tax we are giving Tax cuts. While most of the monies are going overseas and not even being retained in Australia we are offering Tax cuts. Bolt doesn't even begin to address Aly's article which suggests the rejection by Abbott of even a discussion  by Aborigines to arrive at a consensus of what recognition might look like is  a rejection of recognition itself.  It simply disallows them any  involvement. It's  the same old same old that's gone on for 220 years.

Aly's article is about Tony Abbott and how this exemplifies his leadership style and how it's alienating Abbott from his own party and even it's supporter base.  Aly refers to the fact that Abbott's done much the same with Renewable Energy and the ABC Bolt's rant is about screaming about something that's not even central to Aly's commentary Tony Abbott.

Is Bolt so desperate to protect Abbott he needs to deflect the discussion to his pet topic that tells us racism doesn't exist. We are all individuals and need to realise our selves as such. Unless of course you take a historical look at how decisions were arrived at and by whom in this country. Then the notion of we individuality disappears.
