Tom Harley’s apologia for Islam

Obviously the civil war within the LNP will be enthusiastically reported as on going and central to politics. No room will be allowed for the public to believe a compromise might be reached between the ultra conservatives who approx number 10 and the rest of the Liberal party who number 90. Bolt who likens himself to Hannity and O'Reilly in the antipodean branch of News Corp blows up Abbott's monkey pod lunchers as he would his favorite sex doll. He ignores any notion of "fair or balanced" commentary and simply mimics head office in the USA. Fox New's extreme right wing views are copied to a tee on Climate Change, Anti-Islam, Asylum Seekers ,Border Protection, Multiculturalism, Marriage, and a wide range of other issues. Bolt is not an intellect or even originator on any one single topic.
His attack on Tom Harley begins with criticizing his English yet his is filled with errors " Calling the Islamic State leaders whisking-drinking hypocrites" The only "whisking-drinking" seems to be Bolt tripping over himself at the key board when writing this blog. It's the sort of error that might be forgiven of a first former but not a professional opinionator which Bolt claims to be. His unfounded generalizations suggest hundreds of thousands of supporters if not millions exist amongst Muslims for IS it's a complete a paranoid fantasy. There's as much sympathy among white Christians as there is Muslims however it ends when we come to analyse their means to achieve ends. Bolt however doesn't care about IS as much as he does the divide created by Islamophobia here in Australia for political advantage. A divide which holds neither water nor rationality if one examines why IS came into being in the first place or their current relevance in the Middle East. As long as attention and focus is pointed at this particular Australian minority group truth is taken off the agenda. The criminality of Western conduct in the region since 2000 and it's involvement in the deaths of 1 mill Iraqis is ignored. These arguments Bolt forwards avoid inconvenient truths and ignore the West's involvement in the creation of this group called IS. It would have us believe their anger has sprung from Islam. Any questioning of this propaganda put out about ultra conservatives or any attempt to understand why these events occurred is seen as dangerous. Any attempt at reasoned thought is reduced to and called "apologia". In fact Bolt's argument is merely a smoke screen a distortion in order to support the official Tea Party doctrine imported by Tony Abbott and declared policy here. It continues to be spouted by Donald Trump and the Republicans who also know nothing or really care about Syria. Their focus is 2016 elections and strategies to win no matter the cost or consequence.
Bolt isn't having a debate with Tom Harley his bluster is there to attack him. To dare him to show biblical scriptures is daring from a distance , it's just all bluster like a school kid yelling over a fence. There have been countless occasions when scriptures have been read out from the bible that incite vengeance and brutality just as many can be found in the Koran yet the public are constantly sold the belief they only come from the Koran and not the bible. Bolt's has no real argument hesimply uses style but style without substance is meaningless. If Muslims were given regular and the same access to media distribution as Bolt has we'd realize just how opposed they are to IS as all Australians are. But more we'd realise just how opposed to Andrew Bolt and News Corp we are. We are sick of fighting wars where we don't belong.
IS is and was a political gift for Abbott He treat it like his personal blow up air monster the ones you see waving their arms about at car yards. Bolt blows IS up and gives them the wind they want to fly and scare us. ASIO directed the ultra conservatives in the Liberals to shut up maybe they need to whisper in News Corp and Bolt's ear because he certainly whipping up an unwanted hate storm in Australia. Pointing his "hate-speak" at a minority of Aussies ( Muslims) is certainly the reverse of what this country of a "fair go" calls patriotism.
Why is Harley suggesting that Islam is not the primary driving force in the Middle East? Is it because it never was. Israel and the US discussed the idea of ridding the world of the Secular Arabic Dictatorships back in the 80s and 90s. It was always an ambition of Israel's and controlling oil was that of the US. Secular states like Iraq,Syria and Lybia posed a problem simply because they had armies provided health education for their citizens and also attracted the possibility of international and foreign investment and economic growth independant of the US. You can't control countries like that. As long as they weren't puppets of the US like resource poor Jordan dependant on aid these Secular states were seen as a danger of becoming too close and personal with Russia and China enemies of the USA. In other words they might just follow their own interests.The destruction of Libya,Iraq,Syria was seen as a far better outcome than the difficulty of managing the tribal anarchy that would ensue as it would be largely regional and contained. Historic religious and tribal differences were local not global something both the US and Israel were aware of. The cost of these wars would be paid for by the governments installed by West and by the lucrative rights to resources and reconstruction contracts that would follow. Is it so strange that News Corp has an investment in Genie an oil company in the occupied Golan Heights of Syria?
Bolt's single minded spruking of religion being the be all and end all of the Middle East conflict simply fails to address the West's deliberate construction of the mayhem we see going on and the present day economics. The business of war is profit the war's creation a lie. A lie about why it was created in the first place and a lie by the transnational corporations later in their avoidance of the taxes that were promised to pay for it. In other words the ordinary joe people have paid. Islamophobia draws attention away from the benefits for the American no global Military Industrial Complex of which over 50% is dominated by the US. Money not the Koran is the driving force of the battle in the Middle East and Islamophobia the smokescreen here. Mind you Australia has no major interest or much to gain here other than the hope of some long term economic favors down the road. Which in the past have not been as forthcoming as one hoped. Be ready to be stooged yet again as we were in Vietnam.

Could one even begin to imagine the predictions Andrew Bolt has made over the years and was proven wrong. The simple prediction that Abbott would lead the government to the next election is a simple one. Can you imagine just how many false facts he still holds on to to justify arguments that have been lost long ago. That there has been no global warming for 18 years being a standout proven falsehood.

When a body is set up to investigate a particular group's activities within industries rather than the total structure of those industries and the activity of all groups within them and accusation of and the possibility of bias becomes the most obvious issue. Building and Construction Industry is an obvious case in point. The relationship of all those active within it needed to be taken into account in order to get a fair and balanced view of community losses suffered and the potential abuse possible. Far more systemic issues could be raised such as insider trading. How is it that so many persons close to and within the Liberal Party made such heavy profits from planning signed off by Matthew Guy? Insider trading comes to mind but certainly outside this inquiry. Further any bribes require a a briber again outside of this inquiry. TURCS certainly has a whiff of Star Chamber about it.
