 "We're splashing out!"

Family to spend $4.75 petrol excise windfall on buying half a broccoli

Oh dear celebrating too soon, there goes that broccoli and more!!

Despite the federal budget’s focus on cost of living measures, the typical working Australian will still be $50 a week worse off. This is before a hidden tax increase that will leave low and middle-income earners, who are facing a tidal wave of extra costs, $30 worse off in the next financial year. Callum Foote reports.

There’s an election to win and seats to shore up, or even take. The Guardian reports that the Morrison government is pouring a disproportionate amount of money into projects in the Coalition’s must-win seats. But, it adds, only a third of expenditure, and 15% of the projects, targeting marginal seats has been endorsed by the independent agency Infrastructure Australia. The Guardian analysed 144 projects worth $16 billion and found that only 21, worth $5.7bn, had been endorsed by the government agency. ( Michael West Media}

It’s time the workers united again to claim their share of the profits their labour produces. Companies should fulfil their part of the social contract by paying fair wages and taxation. With 12% of Australians living in poverty, it’s time we had a government that puts the welfare of its people first. It’s time.

The 2022 budget papers show climate spending is expected to fall from $2bn next financial year to $1.9bn, $1.5bn and $1.3bn in the three years that follow.

Lismore and Byron unprepared to be flooded again. Morrison proves he's a world laggard on renewables and a liar when it comes emission target ambitions.

Reduction in spending across clean energy agencies represents a 35% annual cut over four years

Lismore would like to know why Morrison was so behind at a time of the Nation's need not once but on serial occasions over his term in office as they are about to face another flood and still waiting for their promised $800 from the first disaster. Meanwhile Cuba puts Morrison to shame.

The book Disaster Preparedness and Climate Change in Cuba: Adaptation and Management

It traced the highly successful source of the island nation’s efforts to the way it put human welfare above property. This collection of 14 essays by Emily J. Kirk, Isabel Story, and Anna Clayfield is an extraordinary assemblage of articles, each addressing specific issues.

In the video Cuba’s Life Task, Orlando Rey also observes that “There must be a change in the way of life, in our aspirations. This is a part of Che Guevara’s ideas on the ‘new man.’ Without forming that new human, it is very difficult to confront the climate issue.” Integration of poor countries into the global market has meant that areas which were once able to feed themselves are are now unable to do so. Neo-liberalism forces them to use energy sources that are life-preservers in the short run but are death machines for their descendants. The world must remember that Che’s “new man” will not clamor for frivolous luxuries while others starve. For humanity to survive, a global epiphany rejecting consumer capitalism must become a material force in energy production. Was Che only dreaming? If so, then keep that dream alive!

Fighting Fake News with REAL 6/9/20; Spotless workers strike for Covid; The virus is real it visibly damages and invisibly scars and travels silently faster than a bushfire. News Corp denies the evidence and promotes anti COVID restrictions without charge;

Viswanathan Nair in intensive care.

'Am I going to survive?' Recovering from  COVID-19 is long and hard

They were the first words Viswanathan Nair had spoken in weeks. His voice was hoarse and he was gasping for air as a nurse checked his vitals at Footscray Hospital’s intensive care unit.

Mr Nair had been intubated and hooked up to a ventilator for almost a month after being hospitalised with coronavirus in July. As he lay under a ventilation hood made of thick transparent plastic, his body withered away.

Shortness of breath, whittled away muscles. Flashbacks and mental fogginess. These are just some of the lingering symptoms that can haunt the sickest of coronavirus patients in the months following infection. However, you won't find Bolt doing what he encourages others t

A police officer and protester scuffle on Saturday.

It won't stop': anti-lockdown protesters buoyed by Saturday turnout

Anti-lockdown protesters have vowed to continue taking to Melbourne's streets, as three people faced court on Saturday night over their involvement in the controversial rally earlier in the day

Incitement to divide us has been SkyNews's vocation, the reason for being, modus operandi creation of a product for sale all under the false banner of debate since the turn of this century. They turned Tabloid Journalism into news and Murdoch Media has been practising it since 1975 because those with money will sponsor it in the form of advertising

Islamophobia, Phobia of Africans Sinophobia anti-Climate Change COVID alarmism, anti-marriage equality incitement to violence division and chaos have all been sold under the protection and disguise of free speech and debate or otherwise called news. However, you will never see Andrew Bolt et al participating in any acts they encourage others to do but continue to be subsidised by successive LNP governments that have shredded our ABC where once news information and debate could be found. No you will never see Andrew Bolt at the demonstration or found doing what he incites others to do.

If he does sail close to the wind and is prosecuted he cries victim or simply shies away from a topic for a few days and when push comes to shove denies it. His worst moments being found guilty of racial vilification and accused of inciting the mindset of the Christchurch mass-shooter Brenton Tarrant. Bolt has become a millionaire working for billionaires doing what he does happily being loner an outsider in the country in which he was born. A well-rewarded tool for the interests of others with which he identifies but don't identify publicly with him a Quisling in the eyes of a nation.

Stage four likely until October, as Andrews reveals modelling of virus surge if lockdown ends earlier

The Victorian government commissioned modelling showing that releasing restrictions too soon risks an explosion of coronavirus cases before Christmas.Melbourne University and the University of New England that modelled 1000 different scenarios and found Victoria was unlikely to have suppressed the virus by mid-September.

It found that if restrictions were eased when the average number of new daily cases was above 25 for a fortnight, there was a 60 per cent chance of returning to lockdown before Christmas.

The modelling predicted cases were now reducing by 50 per cent every 18 days and that rate, Victoria's daily caseload would not dip below 20 until late October.

Lets face it the world over is experiencing a second wave. In America, the Republican States encouraged by Trump to open up are now experiencing a 2nd wave Alabama University reopened and 1000 cases emerged. Texas, Arkansas Utah, Iowa are all seeing the same so much so predictions of 400,000 deaths will occur by Xmas if something isn't done

What Sky News pundits don't report the Workers Strike strike at Spotless (ODT)
At the Spotless Laundry in Melbourne’s southeast, employers demanded that work continue despite escalating numbers of COVID-19 cases. The workers refused to allow the company’s profit to be placed above their safety — and won.

 Fake News

NO, YOU MAY NOT FILM VICTORIA'S POLICE STATE

Avi Yemini does not work for the pro-bans ABC. He reports instead for Rebel Media, so gets a bunch of police tackling him to the ground at an anti-bans rally he's covering, and then menacing him at home that night. Yes, that nighttime knock-on-the-door tactic. This is incredible. Watch.
11m ago

Bolt's discovered that not all "good Muslims play for Richmond. At any other time Bolt would have nothing good to say of Avi Yemeni but here he is of use. Bolt certainly wouldn't invite him home. But Bolt has more on his hands and has a use for him. That's helping Bolt amplify and incite a minority of Victorians to continue to rebel against a public health directive of the state government not to spread Covid and increase the number of deaths in Victoria.

However, does Bolt lead the rebellion by example or have had any of his family too? No, he's simply the amplifier like the wizard of Oz behind the safety of a curtain. Bolt is the amalgamation of all three characters Dorothy met on the way to Oz.

On her way she meets a Scarecrow who needs a brain, a Tin Man who wants a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who desperately needs courage. They all hope the Wizard of Oz or Murdoch will help him. However Bolt remains a brainless coward without a heart whose legacy is 13 pieces of silver.

VICTORIA'S POLICE STATE: YOU MAY NOT EVEN FILM IT

Five police arrest an old lady on a park bench - a woman who is a danger to nobody - for allegedly breaking Victoria's draconian laws. That's bad enough, albeit lawful under the terrible state of emergency laws. But how can anyone excuse one policeman sneaking up and snatching the phone of a companion who was filming this? Watch.

Wild generalisations are drawn from a minority of specific disconnected events when the majority of the people of Victoria still support Dan Andrews whose right according the world experience on how to suppress the spread of a virus ready to flare up if ignored. Trump has insisted and pressured the Republican States to open up as Bolt encourages and what has happened the virus has once again taken control, in Alabama, Iowa, Utah, Arkansas and other Trumpster States.

Fighting Fake News with REAL,21/3/20; Australian individuals are asked to cough up again like the GFC and not just into their arms; The IPA really do magnify why Capitalism hasn't a clue on how to deal with Covid-19;

It was health workers, cleaners, supermarket staff, & every single essential worker that kept the wheels turning. AustralianUnions Australian Unions' No photo description available.

WARNING: this may make you *very* angry, especially if you’ve had to deal with an empty shop lately.
The IPA is the Institute of Public Affairs. It is a policy “think tank” funded by some of Australia’s richest entities, and it basically exists to tell the Liberal Party what rich people and corporations want Liberal/National governments to do for their interests.
IPA “alumni” transition into roles in parliamentary Liberal parties, as senators and MPs. They are the most influential political organisation in Australia at the present time.
As “free market” ideologues, the IPA don’t believe in the government IN ANY WAY restricting the behaviour of commerce.
They don’t believe in minimum wages.
They don’t believe in price controls.
And they really hate unions.

As many of us have recently turned up to local shops stripped bare of the basic goods we need to live, I think everyone should have a look at what the IPA boyos are demanding on Twitter today.
Are you prepared to pay $300 for toilet paper? How many people do you reckon can afford that? Can your mum?
I’ve added the pledge made by Liberal/IPA Senator James Paterson, just so you are in no doubt about the relationship of the think tank and the party.
You can make up your own mind as to whether you’re comfortable being governed by people with these values.

Matthew is an Adjunct Fellow at the IPA. (From the Latin “adjunctuvus”, meaning “nasty little ignorant wanker.”)

Andrew Bolt's son is a member of the IPA promoted and groomed by his father on The Bolt Report and as a guest on his son's podcast. What becomes obvious is skill runs second to who you know rather than what Jame's's co-host on the IPA's podcast doesn't seem to get the boosting attention given to him by dad.
We shouldn't be surprised because it mirrors dad's climb up the social ladder where skills ran second to his networking within the Murdochian community. (ODT)

Scott Morrison just gave a media conference about coronavirus.
His statement repeated that there are travel bans, and that he's been speaking with banks about LOANING money to small business to continue trading.
Yes, he's encouraging small business to *take on more debt* with interrupted supply chains and no customers.
What was also significant was what Morrison didn't announce.
There is:
- no wage support for stood down workers
- no raising of Newstart
- no job guarantee for return-to-work reemployment after the crisis
- no conditions on corporate bailouts to protect workers
- no end to unsafe "mutual obligation" demands on Newstart recipients
- no paid sick leave for all
- no jobs created in infrastructure or in the public service to actually manage the crisis.

Tell me; do YOU feel confident that the Liberals and Nationals are looking after us?
Do you think they know what they're doing?
Do you feel safe?

Fighting Fake News with Real; 19/8/19; No Go for having a Go Workers have been screwed since Abbott; We export Fossil Fuels;

Workers’ wage rises lowest on record

Workers’ wage rises lowest on record.

THE WAGES SLUMP the Abbott Government plunged Australia into back in 2014 is now firmly entrenched. More than five years after the first failed budget by disgraced former Coalition Treasurer, Joe Hockey, workers’ wages are increasing at the lowest rates since records have been kept. It is unlikely there has been a worse period in Australia’s history for workers receiving a fair share of the nation’s vast wealth.
This dismal news emerged from the quarterly wages figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) last Wednesday.

Global comparisons

Tradingeconomics.com has data on wage growth for 30 developed countries, current to March or June this year for most. The average rise after allowing for inflation is 2.27%.
Australia’s puny 0.82% ranks a dismal 21st out of those 30 countries. Down in the bottom one third.
This is the time when workers should be earning a fair share of the nation’s vast wealth and investing in homes for now and superannuation for the future. The nation should be investing in the quality of life for all citizens now – especially those doing it tough – and in infrastructure for the future.
It seems the rich foreign controllers of the Coalition parties have decided to grasp as much as they can while they can and to hell with the Australian people. Because eventually, surely, one day, citizens must wake up to what is going on and call a halt.

Australia is the world's third-largest exporter of CO2 in fossil fuels ...

We represent 0.3% of the world's population however and are listed as 14th on the world's largest emitters of Greenhouse gasses list and are ahead of 40 other listed nations. If global warming is seen as a worldwide problem. Australia has a significant obligation to do something in and attempted resolution of this problem. Because it's the biggest exporter of Coal in the world and the 3rd biggest exporters of fossil fuels. Scott Morrison wants to hide the image but not the action or responsibility.
