As Oligarchic Capitalism is unable to deal with a global pandemic on this scale without simply allowing people to die. Death is for these fuckers the least expensive solution to maintain labour's flatlined wages while protecting their decades of high profits for a minority of the population.

These alarmists consider that any sort of Socialist bailout unless for Australia's Corporate finance and big business worlds is a cost that will damage their "economy" so to hell with trying to save the larger Australian population who only consist of labour the productive engine of the nation. America is predicting 240,000 deaths, Italy and Spain 20,000 each Africa India Latin America are yet to come. As far as they are concerned none of this is relevant in the short term it isn't in their immediate interest Australia alone is. The framework and model the same as their perspective on Climate Change denial that a problem even exists. Australia stands alone and only needs to be treated that way.
