You know the way it goes: SIEV X sinks and hundreds of people drown, but we shouldn’t get political about it because it would be wrong to blame John Howard, because making political capital out of personal tragedy is just offensive opportunism. Fast forward a few years and Labor are responsible for all the drownings at sea and there’s no problem.

Or when people die installing the pink batts, it’s brought up at every opportunity by the Liberals because they argue that the scheme should have had better planning and more oversight… This was, of course, at the same time as they were arguing for a reduction in red-tape because such things just slow down projects. We never hear of all the workplace deaths that this may have caused because death shouldn’t be used for political reasons.

And so, we have the current fires raging in NSW and Queensland but, hey, don’t mention climate change because we’ve always had droughts and flooding rains, and it’s not the time. Just like in the United States when there’s another shooting, it’s not the time for a discussion on gun control. It’s a time for thoughts and prayers.

Andrew Bolt is here talking about The Great Con about "cherrypicking" "selectively cut and pasting" and the media quoting from an "un-peer-reviewed work" it's as if he's talking about himself. It's exactly what he does himself as a climate denier. Even worse, he selectively twists the conclusions of scientists when he attempts his farcical efforts to convince us Climate Change is a load of crock and journalists other than himself are fools.

If I report that 100,000 scientists have been found to agree that in itself is not a scientific statement nor does it need to be "peer-reviewed" it can be taken at face value or checked but it does not require "peer-reviewing". Nor do any errors found disprove its validity when the meaning is clear that 11,000 stands for "most". 

Does Andrew Bolt's denial of it require it to be peer-reviewed" Bolt doesn't think so Whose the fool when validity, in this case, needs only to be judged on reputation? Bolt's discovery is, in fact, a scream he's discovered and disproved nothing. The fact is the sentiment of this report is much the same as one done by the IPCC years ago when it was found 14,000 peer-reviewed scientific papers were shown to agree with Climate Change. Now Bolt knows of that study because he's tried to argue against it too. However, he cuts it out of this editorial not out of ignorance but intent. Pointing to 6 errors in 11,000 doesn't disprove the essence of what was being said. That the majority of the world's scientists are believers and are the majority of the world's leaders.

 It can be shown these researchers are "activists" claims Bolt well then isn't he one as well? Bolt somehow thinks this pejorative word is all it takes to destroy the commonsense knowledge of what has been said here. That the majority of scientists, whether Climate or not believe in Global Warming. The research was done in Warringah last election, and Tony Abbott discovered that first hand. Am I an activist for reporting that the majority of Australians believe?  Andrew Bolt calls it a religion. I call the word activist progressive and a move forward. 

So what does Andrew Bolt do? He goes on to "selectively cherry-pick" "cut and paste" to disprove the progressive statements like 11,000 scientists have been found to agree with global warming? No, Bolt talks about improved technologies in health and other sciences since the last pandemic as proof Climate Warming is a load of crock and no concern ducking the issue of Climate Change. Furthermore "nobody" in the media is as clear-sighted as Andrew Bolt, and he's not shy to say so. Are you convinced? When farmers in NSW and Qld report, unprecedented drought Bolt says, it's normal. When current reports of unprecedented fires are heard that's normal too according to farmer Bolt. He confuses quantity with intensity in weather and quality with an abundance of food produced. Anything to disprove those "activist scientists"  who refuse to believe the world is flat and who can't see the progress of knowledge is heretical unless ordained by religion. Bolt, there is no new religions, just the old which have a vested interest in preventing change.

Stop building, because the renewable energy wind towers come at a cost greater than their benefit? LNP are building subs at the cost of $50billion  they won't be completed until 2050 and will in all probability be obsolete on delivery. Bolt's a grown up to be trusted to prove to us the above historical drought and floods in Qld weren't extreme were normal and that the loss of 500k cattle is typical for the cattle industry and the threat to health it's resulted in. Yesterday’s Daily Telegraph ran a disgracefully Islamophobic cartoon, prompting former race discrimination commissioner Tim Soutphommasane to tweet: “This … is what fear mongering looks like. A reminder there are media outlets that perpetuate hateful stereotypes in our society.”

Matt Corman clearly stated this was to keep rapists, and pedophiles out of the country as if that's what asylum seekers are and that it's why these crimes exist. IN DEFENCE OF SACKED ROSS CAMERON

NO, NOT A 'RACIST' SBS slimes: "Ross Cameron has been let go from Sky News after on-air comments many said were 'racist'." But listen to Ross's (regrettable) comments in context. He was defending Chinese people, not mocking them. He was actually arguing against racist stereotypes.  The outrage-takers have taken him down with selective quoting. How depressing.

The Sleeping Giants weren't referring to just a single case of Ross Cameron crossing the line even the execs at Sky News were aware of a long list. Cameron's transgressions were as many, as varied and as in your face as Mark Latham's so much so he even acknowledged and made yet another apology for the sleight, telling Macquarie Radio he' may' have been wrong.
"I don't expect to make perfect live television every time," he said.
"On this occasion, I obviously fell short of what was required.

"If anyone's been hurt, I'm very happy to sincerely apologise.

Mr Cameron said he had made other "more serious" mistakes for which he had not been punished.
 His opinion on the order of the list wasn't it seems the same as management's and it appears the number of times he crossed the line mattered. Bolt makes no mention of any of that and in the same vein "as it's OK to be white" it seems he believes' it's ok to be a racist' too. Cameron's a nice guy is what Trump said about the ultra-Right at Charlottesville too and the matter was really the fault of those provoking them. In Bolt's case the outraged Sleeping Giants who turned Cameron into a victim.
What's occurred according to Bolt  " is a foul deception. The opposite of the truth." but he's not conflating that blame with Sky's management at all is he? Aren't they the Sleeping Giants unmentioned in Bolt's context?
No, as far as Bolt is concerned Cameron was actually praising the Chinese for their appreciation of things Western. Just as the West appreciated and could be said stolen things from the Chinese for much longer.
 Trump and Bolt actually blame the Asians, not for their commercial ingenuity but for ripping off and taking advantage of anything Western both state or commercial "owned". Where would they be today if it weren't for the genius of Western Culture today? Bolt's "prudence" amounts to calling the Chinese spies, thieves of anything commercial or intellectual from the west and trying to colonize the Pacific just as the West attempted to do. Trump, in fact, claims the Chinese are to blame for infecting the West with hoax ideas like Climate Change. Bolt agrees they shouldn't be allowed into the country after all Murdoch media was kicked out of China.
According to Bolt that's  the "context"  that's been ignored in this matter so much so even Ross Cameron didn't recognize just how nice and polite he was being.

How does Andrew Bolt draw the conclusion that because medical research has found that some people with Aspergers suffer gender confusion because of their Aspergers syndrome? That it follows that young people who want gender reassignment are then possibly conflicted with undiagnosed Asperger's Syndrome and as a result, some errors might be made therefore gender reassignment should be dropped altogether.
Bolt's logic here shouldn't surprise he runs the same arguments against the Science of Climate Change. Against our Immigration policies on Africans all of which are massive generalisations drawn from some very narrow individual cases. Yet no such generalisation is made that some of the cases that Attwood considered may, in fact, have been wrong. History, in fact, shows science and research haven't given us reason to stop but rather the probability to move forward.
Bolt logic of perfection would have the world at a standstill waiting for exact data in 100% of cases before any conclusions can be drawn to progress. That logic leads us to Abbott's world of nope nope nope and the least number of bills passed by any PM for over 70 years. It's been the demise of the Australian government for the past 5 years that's taken our economy from 2nd to 20th globally Education to second last of the 40 OECD countries, the NBN to 60th when it comes to Internet speeds. Bolt is still certain behaviourist therapies should be applied first despite their history of failure when it comes to gender and identity. Bolt's ignorance is the assumption that Attwood statement is some sort of Holy Grail and all others are the ignorant. It raises Bolt to the status of a buffoon. Attwood gains no respect in his simplistic Christian approach to the issue but it's no surprise that Bolt has found it worthy.

That is the job of the Charities Regulator when I last looked. The warnings issued are simply the consequences if found guilty of misuse. Bolt is about as colourful as Trump when it comes to the twisting of language to come up with Fake News so predominant in Murdoch owned media. There is nothing here I'm afraid. Kelly is probably right because Trump's facts that the US is being ripped off is totally false when actually fact-checked above. The fact is that Trump has effectively done nothing but a bit of domestic politicking. Nothing has changed. Trump took an agreement and issue signed and acknowledged by Obama in 2014 and blew it up amplified it with bluster in order to face the cameras for a photo shoot back home. Fake facts, fake history, fake posturing all went into his effort of telling America he was a winner and NATO is now fixed when in fact NOTHING HAS CHANGED.

The magistrate passes sentences according to the law and is not partisan to colour race or citizenship status. Bolt, however, is quite the opposite and seems to be not only appealing for harsher sentencing of youth and their placement in schools for crime, punishment parks rather than rehabilitation centres. Firstly Bolt has falsely elevated Dr Lomborg to a professor when he's not but then Bolt has a habit of doing that he elevated himself to having completed his education at Adelaide Uni where he actually failed to finish.  So that's a good start, isn't it? Lomborg was an assistant to a Professor who in our language was probably his PhD mentor. Lomborg it seems made it Associate but not Professor.

Where is he and his CCC now nobody knows as the CCC works out of a mailbox? So basically he's not "World Famous" as Bolt makes our and like Abbott is on the backbench somewhere.
