Premier Daniel Andrews has attacked the federal government for allowing travellers from New Zealand into Victoria.

Andrews threatens border closures over Kiwi arrivals

Forced yet again by Morrison's lack of leadership and mismanagement Dan Andrews has been put in the unenviable position of having to clean up Morrison's shit again. Firstly it was private aged care facilities under Federal jurisdiction and now sending NZers to Victoria despite our COVID-19 lock-down.

Morrison is so Trump like placing his politics before any focused and supportive effort in  problem solving for Australia or particularly Victoria. He's a science denier who get his inspiration and political strategies  from God and his one and only favorite son Lachlan.  But then he has two Victorian Quislings Frydenberg and Hunt to help him.

Meanwhile the UK and EU are taking Victoria's actions as the model by which to go by in handling the 2nd wave by which they have been struck. Trump is touting "herd immunity" as to cover his failures and it seems Morrison has sided with him. Dan has every right to be pissed off

Unexpected trans-Tasman arrivals spark border ware between Melbourne and Canberra as Andrews seeks extension of international flight ban.

In for a penny, in for a pound: $90 billion for an obsolete submarine fleet

What could the $40 billion over spend have done for the hardest hit Australians?

So much for sovereignty. Australia is locked out of repairing key US components of our submarines’ computer systems, and the government has committed our fleet to the extraordinarily dangerous role of helping the US conduct surveillance in the South China Sea. Brian Toohey reports.

Government gives climate-wrecking Adani millions to 'attract investment'

The Politics of Labor's Shame being held to ransom by an Indian opportunist who has a history of environmental destruction left in his wake. Adani can't sell his prized $1 Billion brand new plant in India for a $1

The Queensland Government's avowed support for Adani's Carmichael mine doesn't measure up, Steve Bishop reports.

THE QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT'S sole reason for giving Adani its mega-million dollar tax holiday for its climate-wrecking Carmichael thermal coal mine is to encourage investment, according to Treasurer Cameron Dick.

Public relations firms helped resource companies fight back against policies that undermined their interests.
One thing that gives me hope is the backlash against high-profile marketer, Russel Howcroft. Though not as culpable as those who deliberately misdirected scientific discussion, he helped Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s office improve the selling of its climate policies. This wasn’t a workshop to improve the policies – but to improve the spin.
So, to those that continue to misdirect and sow doubt over global heating, I ask, ‘are your pay cheques really worth it?’ And do you realise that by promoting the reputation of polluters you’re damaging your own personal reputations? In 10 years’ time having any link to coal or gas on your resume won’t be a good look.
The Public Relations Institute of Australia’s code of ethics states that members "shall not knowingly disseminate false or misleading information". I suggest that any communications professional that positively represents fossil fuel interests is doing just that.

My fellow spin doctors, you're going to regret spruiking fossil fuels

HOW THE LEFT HATES: REZA ASLAN GLOATS THAT RUSH LIMBAUGH HAS CANCER

Ex CNN man Reza Aslan gloats over Rush Limbaugh's cancer diagnosis: "Ask yourself this simple question: is the world a better place or a worse place with Rush Limbaugh in it?"  He shames himself and the Chicago Theological Seminary stupid enough to hire him. This same low life once gloated that an innocent Covington student had a "punchable" face.

Here's a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Richard Di Natale resigned as the Greens leader primarily because he had a serious life-threatening operation last year and also because he wanted to spend time with his family. Bolt smeared him for it but made a joke of it in the process. He made no mention of the operation but smirked at Di Natale's use of the expression "the need to spend time with the family" as if he were being disingenuous. That's the hypocrisy of Andrew Bolf for you. Ask yourself this does this low life Andrew Bolt make Australia a better place? Are you better informed?(ODT)
What Bolt ignores is Rush Limbaugh Has Advanced Lung Cancer Now. But Then, He Asked For 'A Medal For Smoking'
Rush Limbaugh, who announced this week that he has advanced lung cancer, has a history of praising the practice of smoking.

MELTDOWN!: TRUMP WINS DEMOCRAT CAUCUS IN IOWA

GREENS LEADER ADAM BANDT'S VICIOUS RANT AS POLITICIANS MOURN BUSHFIRE DEAD

HOW DECEITFUL IS PAUL BARRY, THE ABC'S CLIMATE HYSTERIC?

If only the Tobacco lobby had the media power of Sky 2gb and News Corp today!!
Firstly have we heard Bolt mention the fool Jim Molan made of himself on Q&A  when he said he pays "no attention to the evidence" science has provided over the past 40 years on Climate Change he prefers the opinions of idiots we have to assume because he doesn't name them like Andrew Bolt no doubt. Misinformation isn't a right and Andrew Bolt and the Sky crew are practised at just that. They do it under the guise of selecting facts then opinionating on them when in fact it's propaganda paid for and media-driven. Murdoch Media globally presents a uniform policy and message of denial and misinformation on Climate Change throughout the English speaking world.
In fact, Murdoch himself is a wanna be Fossil Fuel Baron, a Director of Genie Oil which Bolt never mentions that's exploring illegally in the Israeli occupied territories of the Golan Heights of Syria. A class-action suit or ban on their advertisers is well deserved for that alone.
Bolt begins with bullshit Paul Barry didn't exclusively attack Sky News he directed his comments to 2GB  and the News Corp papers. Sorry Bolt, you weren't the sole focus of his attention. As for the years of misinformation, you have been putting out you spent more claiming the planet was "cooling" than "slightly warming.  So why now pretend otherwise which is fundamentally and primarily a piece of bullshit. You spent years quoting and venerating Roy Spencer and still do as the guru of denialism.
Bolt, unlike Jim Molan, claims he's a facts man who strangely enough often provides Molan with the space to spread his self declared "opinions only" views which he openly declares are better than the facts for which he has no regard.  Opinion rather than the years of evidence collected by the global scientific community are the foundation on which he bases policy not the facts and conclusions of the worlds most prestigious institutions. But then Bolt has no regard for scientists or experts other than his fellow Murdochians who all dance to the same tune.
Bolt's fact whatever we do will not make bushfires stop so Australia has no global responsibility only to adapt as we are only 1.3% emitters of Greenhouse gasses.. Guess Bolt should have been around when we sent troops to fight in WW1 and WW2 in the foolish belief we needed global response to the Germans and Japanese despite the fact we were on the other side of the planet. We were small then too. We know what Bolt's response was to the Ebola virus don't we "do nothing"! So we don't need to support any global effort. No Bolt doesn't mock science when he calls it just another "religion" "a cult" " a money-making con" does he? He gets away with his crap simply because of the 24/7 news cycle that allows him the privilege of being a yo-yo going in any direction his masters allow as long as it's attached to their string and yes they are The Murdoch's Sky and News Corp. Even James Murdoch the son of Rupert agrees with Paul Barry over anything  Bolt has to say.
Imagine, Bolt has Gerard Henderson from News Corp to talk about "preaching and "no right of reply" on the Bolt Report now that is the "pot calling the kettle black".
These two weren't laughing at the well to do and educated doctors of Warringah were they when they showed just how influential people can be when they got rid of Tony Abbott. (ODT)
And – NO – Australia cannot achieve a favourable outcome on its own but it can join the other countries which are already making far greater efforts then we are.
And – NO – we cannot undo the damage which we have allowed to happen but we can to some, possibly significant, degree limit the extent of further damage.
You never know what you can achieve until you try – but you will achieve nothing by failing to try! (RJ36)

Fighting Fake News with REAL,18/1/20; Bushfire Relief for marginal seats only; Coal's Biggest Lobbyist promised a pot of Gold for ending the rainbows;

Scott Morrison says the Government’s $2 billion bushfire relief fund will be set aside for seats won by a margin of less than 3% at the last federal election.
Mr Morrison was unapologetic about the policy, saying it was important the funds were spent efficiently.
“In times like these, it’s absolutely crucial that these bushfire funds are allocated to the regions where they are needed most. Places like Chisholm in inner Melbourne, or Wentworth on Sydney harbour – I mean they’re on a knife-edge”.
He rejected the suggestion that funds should flow to areas actually affected by the recent bushfires.
“My heart goes out to people in those areas. But the point is, while they may have lost millions of hectares of property, they’re not in danger of losing the next election, are they. We have to make sure funds flow where they are needed”.
The PM said instead of being negative about the allocation of the funds, people should focus on the positive impact the money was already having. “You walk around Double Bay – which is on a margin of 1.3% – or Box Hill – which is on a margin of just 0.5% – and you see all of the great initiatives that have been made possible by the bushfire funds. I don’t think you’re going to see bushfires in those places in the future”.

Why didn’t the new host of Sunday’s ABC’s Insiders, David Speers, recent escapee from Murdoch’s Sky News, question you about the coalition’s irresponsible, repugnant and environmentally criminal sanctioning of this awful project that will contribute to the millions of deaths attributed to the contamination of the world’s environment by fossil fuels?

Conservationists question whether artesian water taken from bore holes will harm the fragile Doongmabulla Springs near Adani's Carmichael coal mine.

Australia can't afford Adani's pipeline to 12.5b litres of precious water

At the last federal election, the Coalition weaponised the Adani coal-mine issue to portray Labor as having a tin-ear for the concerns of regional Australia. But for all the bravado, the simple truth is that Adani will not be the saviour of regional Queensland. Far from it.
Right now, federal Environment Minister Sussan Ley is considering whether to require expert scientific assessment of Adani’s massive river pipeline, through which it plans to take up to 12.5 billion litres of water from the Suttor River in Central Queensland.
The federal government has conceded it erred by failing to consider public submissions when evaluating a plan by mining giant Adani to pump billions of litres of water from a river in drought-stricken Queensland.Government concedes error on Adani pipeline decision

LABOR SHOULD CHILL UNTIL awoke WARRINGAH HAS WINDFARMS

COLUMN New MP Zali Steggall is a global-warming crusader, yet hasn’t bothered to put solar panels on her roof. But now that she's beaten Tony Abbott in  Warringah, she’s being begged by a Change.org petition to set an example: erect wind turbines along Warringah’s beaches, given  locals are so hot on global warming. Labor should watch, learn and cool it.

Andrew Bolt shows his talent for lowering debate standards; he demands so high of others. Leading by example, he repeats his use of childish sarcasm derision and peak showing pro Abbott voters in Warringah should now act given Zali Steggel got 58% of the ballot, not 57%. Bolts dog in the race Tony only managed less than 40%.
It seems Bolt would have them prancing around Manly like the twit he is uploading sour grape petitions onto social media and yelling in chorus Yadi Yadi Yada. But then that's Andrew Bolt for you.
News Corp published fake news like Bolt suggests fake petitioners now do. They helped steal the election that shouldn't have been won and proved that a $60mill donation by a billionaire who owed $70mill in taxes could make News Corp wealthy if they got paid and replace the reasoned and intelligent policy offered by the opposition with bullshit, fear, and nothing else. Yadi, Yadi Yada and "I'll burn for you" won the day making Australian politics look as vacuous as American is today.
Australia wants to lead the world by example, and Andrew Bolt feels he sets that for the media by doing the Monty Python John Cleese silly walk verbally as the erudite model commentator he's not. Sadly he remains what he is just Andrew Bolt as welcome as a fart in an overcrowded lift.

ANTI-ADANI EXTREMISTS LOSE. QUEENSLAND PREMIER PANICKS

Anti-Adani activists had politicians and gutless bank bosses spooked, but the collapse of Labor's vote in Queensland has had Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk  hit the panic button to speed up approvals for the project she recklessly delayed. But now she's got a war with her green-maddened deputy. My editorial from The Bolt Report.

3mLink

Gutless bank bosses, investors like Bolt, people with money like AGL, Origin Energy, and oil companies universally failed to invest in Adani still aren't rushing to invest in Adani. Will the state or the country be made to carry this risk nobody in the free market wants to touch. Who's going to show their socialist face using taxpayer money to invest in a coal mine. Now that's showing Putin how to go about things without the use of oligarchs. Mind you there's one sitting back waiting for the precedent to be set one whose renown for not paying his bills, Clive Palmer and maybe Gina as well waiting in the background. If the free market the biggest superfunds are divesting from fossil fuels whose going to stop that top end run Andrew Bolt?

Had people of faith not been so arrogant as to exclude LGBTQI's in the first place with their forced referendum that turned them from a privileged minority to just ordinary people then they might have continued to live their lives deluded. When the automobiles were invented, some of these people of faith chose to isolate themselves from the rest of the world in varying degrees casting out of their communities those that didn't agree. They thought of themselves as the elect, and it seems they still do. Equality is the failed dogma of the devil, and while they have a long list of things they would ban according to their Sharia laws which they now want legally constituted. Bolt supports their drive for their equivalent of Sharia Law to be recognised. In fact, he supports the drive for Australia to be declared a Christian State as Israel recently declared itself a Jewish state making everyone else second class. Equality and fairness have no place in a land of saints and sinners, according to extremist Christians, even Andrew Bolt is someone to be shunned a self-declared agnostic. With that, I walk with Christian bigots and would ban him too.

Antony Albanese

THIS ELECTION KILLED THE GENDER-NUMBERS GAME, TOO

COLUMN This election result should end the ludicrous gender politics that politicians have played. Two blokes beat a woke Labor leader and his trophy female deputy - and did it with their own top women playing a shocker. Yet Labor's Anthony Albanese was still playing the old game when asked when Labor's top blokes should make way for a new generation.
33m
The number of women has increased in the Parliament, but not so much on the LNP side, that's a fact. The women of the LNP have publicly stated the preselection process still remains firmly in the hands of the "old boys club" this has been pointed to over and over again. The LNP points to the women who have broken that barrier as a denial of any bias and declare themselves on the side of merit. The ALP has made adjustments to ensure quotas are met and the LNP claim that's a fixed race not based on merit. However, Australian Politics is meant to be representational and not on some vague notion that the person elected was the best. Let's face it Bolt thought Molan and Abbott were the best and their electorates rejected them. Merit is the last thing you will find in a secretly rigged race. All that is asked is representation in which the process is clear and transparent, which is why Chris Bowen bowed out as did Tanya Plibersek as Albanese has the numbers from the grassroots up. I don't know what Bolt's talking about, but the ALP attracts a far greater and varied group than you will ever see in the Liberal Party. They look far more representative of what Australia is.

MAY TIPPED TO QUIT AS FARAGE SOARS, MINISTER QUITS

Theresa May is tipped to quit tomorrow: "The Leader of the House of Commons Andrea Leadsom resigned... saying she couldn’t put forward the Brexit bill as she was so fundamentally opposed its new elements, particularly the offer of a second referendum." The Brexit Party's likely win in today's European Union election will make it worse.

The most significant aspect of Bolt's Paywall link he's thriving on what is the visible destruction o the Tory Party or at least the moderates within it. Rest assured the sentiments won't be his they will be strictly tied to the hip with whatever Murdoch media is trying to do. The main goal is it seems the destruction of the United Kingdom and the formation of Little Britain.

What’s at stake in the election? - » The Australian Independent Media Network

Democracy depends on Civic Mobilisation
In response to John Pesutto (‘The Age’, 14/4). What critics don’t seem to realise is that the strength of a democracy can hinge on the mobilisation and activity of its civil society. If we do not accept protest and civil disobedience, we are weakening the fabric of our democracy. Indeed, an active civil society is a safeguard for democracy’s long-term preservation. Perhaps free speech should not be ‘absolute’, but every time we weaken its universality, we set a precedent which ‘could come back to bite’ progressive forces later down the track. Further, Left advocates usually do not have the same opportunity to express their views. And by ‘Left’ I include left social democrats and democratic socialists. And even the more radical have a right for their ideas to be tested. When on the odd occasion a left-wing commentator appears on the ABC there are calls of ‘bias’. But Left views are almost absent in Newscorp newspapers, and ‘The Age’ has moved to the relative Centre. What we need is a truly strong pluralism in our democracy. A ‘battlefield of ideas’ where journalists do not try and manipulate; but rather a genuine, inclusive and honest contest of analysis and values.

Scott Morrison in church

WHAT EASTER TOLD US ABOUT MORRISON

VIDEO Check the difference in how Bill Shorten and Scott Morrison celebrated Easter - and their faith. Shorten seems to know Christianity doesn't win votes in the media or on the Left, so tempers his personal beliefs. But Morrison - part of a church so enthusiastic it's mocked as happy clappy - he doesn't hide from it. My editorial on The Bolt Report.

11m

It's Bolt laughing at just another religion. No facts Bolt, but a belief that he's a member of the "Elect" and that's the tradition he was brought up in. As an Agnostic Bolt's slipped. However, he's worked all his life to be a member of the Elite by mixing with those he believes are. He's what people of his class believe is a "suck". What's amusing he works for the wealthy but will never be part of them. What Easter told us about Morrison is he's a factless salesman with only a song and the faith to sell it.

Can anyone doubt that the warming movement has left science far, far behind? Andrew Bolt

One moment  Climate Science is just "Another Religion" the next "Warmists have left Science behind" put the two together the only conclusion you can come to is Andrew Bolt hasn't a clue what he's talking about from one moment to the next. At least the protester's message is clear, and we do associate it with the urgency that things need be done. Bolt's message hardly makes sense in that he has no faith in Science that's clear in much the same way he has no confidence in the premise of any religion when Bolt claims he's Agnostic but that the principles of Christianity stand head and shoulders over any others even Science. Basically, he believes in the Protestant Ethic that those that have reaped the rewards and privileges in this life have done so by merit and what they have received they deserve not from God it seems but the natural order of things merit.
Well, we clearly know that's wrong unless you believe in an "elect" as Bolt does and his belief he's a member. The amusing thing that those he works for don't share his faith and he's just their servant but shhh! Don't tell him his bubble might pop and his insecurity will show. It's why he wants to retire in the Netherlands where they don't know the sad truth.

That's what you'd regard as exceptional, isn't it?
Remember how Bolt attacked Adam Goodes for calling out a 16-year-old when she called him an 'ape' well what does he think he's doing here more than just name calling out a child? He's abusing her and suggesting her ailments are the cause of her opinions. There is no lesson to be gained here other than telling us who Bolt is.
Is that the way to sell subscriptions to the Herald Sun?You'd think management would have second thoughts. If he wants to sell subs to Murdoch's dirt rag, he might start by throwing free copies over the fences of non-subscribers like is being done in Warringah and see the reaction he gets.

There are many more lowlights in fuel driven cars than electric ones rest assured. However, it's manufacturers that will determine the vehicles of the future after all isn't that the promise of the "free market" that Bolt promises will deliver society everything it wants. Now Bolt wants to regulate imports of cars that the motor industry has forewarned it is going to stop producing. It's going to be a race to see which billionaire can buy the very last fuel driven electric car.

'Propaganda': Why a fed-up Bill Shorten has turned on News Corp

'Propaganda': Why a fed-up Bill Shorten has turned on News Corp.

Let's all join him
Bill Shorten is throwing out Mark Twain's famous advice and taking on the Murdoch press. Murdoch's business model is based on playing to the world of money, and that's not 90% of the nation or the globe. In fact his audience the everyday working Joe is jumping ship and getting their news elsewhere. It becomes increasingly apparent you won't find News and Information in any arena Murdoch owns. He has become the Goebbels of conservatism joined at the hip with the IPA and the extreme of the LNP. The only way to make a difference and return Democracy back to the country is to show that cartel the way out. (ODT)

Once, politicians lived by these words. In Australia, it meant you didn't pick a fight with Rupert Murdoch and News Corp, which accounts for 60 per cent of daily newspaper sales.

The public attacks follow his declaration that he has no intention of meeting Murdoch personally, breaking with the practice of past Labor leaders.

"It's just become fairly apparent that they are acting as a propaganda arm of the government," one senior Labor source says. "We know that they are going to do everything they can to help the other side stay in power."
Another party operative says some MPs and political staffers have "had a gutful" of particular newspapers and cable news channel Sky News, which has become a hub of conservative commentary since News Corp took full control in late 2016.
One News Corp employee observes that Shorten is the first Labor leader to seek the prime ministership without working hard to keep Murdoch on side. Former leaders Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard sought to woo the billionaire before relations soured in government.

Billionaire media mogul Rupert Murdoch has been unable to meet with Labor leader Bill Shorten.

PROOF YET AGAIN OF THIS GOVERNMENTS SELF-INTEREST. Adani does the same in India (ODT)

“Instead of backing its independent scientists and protecting the interests of our communities and the environment, the government shoved through a critical approval for one of its major donors, the ACF’s Stop Adani campaigner, Christian Slattery, said.
“This is a breach of the trust Australians should be able to have in their elected representatives.”

Andrew Bolt doesn't even know how to make his link work. He truly is a totally 21st Century wholly produced man whose tech crew and producers have let down. He's reading from a script while the planet is burning crying that politicians need cost the assistance, we must give first, if we are going to help ourselves. Can you picture Bolt asking the same question during the Bubonic Plague or Australia's assistance during the two great wars? Bolts question "how much will it cost" is meant to frighten us. It didn't then and won't now. They did what Nike said "just do it" However the fact is Bolt's question has been answered, and he's just not telling.
" Australian National University Professor Warwick McKibbin said federal government policy to reduce carbon emissions would subtract about 0.4 per cent from the economy by 2030 under the two main targets being put to voters."
"Relative to what the size of the economy would be in 2030, the impact is a small fraction," Professor McKibbin said.
He also backed the use of international carbon permits to help achieve the targets, lending weight to Labor's plan to use these offsets while the Coalition refuses to do the same.
Federal Election 2019: Key economist Warwick McKibbin lends weight to Labor’s climate policy
So should we invest? What do we risk and what is the cost of doing nothing and listening to Andrew Bolt telling us the planet isn't warming at an alarming rate and extreme weather conditions aren't happening, and that science is just another Religion. Even his mate Tony Abbott has turned on him. Bolt keeps silent on that score.
Firstly the government's role is to facilitate private enterprise to help them invest by having a national plan for a transition to lower emission not be the masterminds and financiers of it.
That transition is already happening on a global scale and Bolt telling us at worst to stop assisting or at best to go Dutch "  While the cost to achieve 26% or 45% carbon reduction is minimal if global Carbon credits are bought and emissions are reduced. " With everything taken as a given, a target of 45 per cent is probably going to have twice the economic cost to a target of 26 per cent," Professor McKibbin said.
"But if you can buy permits at a reasonable price, then the economic cost would be the same, and that's a reasonable argument that Labor is making."

"Permits have been accepted as a means of reducing carbon abatement," Mr Frydenberg said in April last year. "That can be used quite effectively to help reduce some of the pressure on energy-intensive businesses."
Mr Abbott has opposed international permits for many years and led the pressure to halt the emissions scheme within the NEG last August.

Everyone has backed a price on Carbon, Science, Economists, Business Council of Australia, Producers, Corporations Financiers and investors but LNP lobbyists and donors Murdoch the IPA and the LNP have formed a cartel against it pushing for profit over investment. The cost is what happens if we do nothing. The LNP has rushed and passed the Adani mine through lying that scientists had approved their modelling verbally when the scientists themselves are screaming liars and bullshit at the Minister.
Just how stupid are these people running their mouths off showing their ignorance with arguments like we are going to save the lives of  400 million Indians by opening the ADANI mine when Adani is known as a pariah in his own country?

Adani no saviour of India’s poor, despite the rhetoric

The same applies to electric cars; it's been costed and proved the use of electric vehicles will help reduce the price of electricity not raise it. The LNP destroyed the car industry in Australia they can't kill the production elsewhere, and all the major companies are going electric private investment is going green, and Bolt can't stop it. Weaponising Climate for short term gain in an election shows he's just a foot soldier for the mining and fossil fuel lobby and has no interest or responsibility past his hip pocket.

A climate reckoning is coming to our political hothouse

It's been a long time since global warming was a lefty fringe preoccupation. Scott Morrison knows it
When Tony Abbott was prime minister, he ordered more Australian strike aircraft and troops into Iraq. Not because Australia was big enough to turn the tide of battle against the barbarians of Daesh, so-called Islamic State or ISIL. But because he believed in the fight.Australia's commitment ultimately made up less than 1 per cent of the combined effort against the terrorist thugs but it was early and firm.

"Even if carbon dioxide, a naturally occurring trace gas that’s necessary for life, really is the main climate change villain, Australia’s contribution to mankind’s emissions is scarcely more than 1 per cent," Abbott said last year.

On terrorism, Abbott argued for Australian leadership. On climate change, he argued for wilful helplessness. Australia is a 1 per cent contributor in both cases. In one case, it used its 1 per cent to show leadership and effective action. On the other, it used its 1 per cent as an excuse for inaction.
