Yesterday Andrew Bolt boldly said "Marxism doesn't work" when Marxist and Socialist countries were faring so much better than America and Australia in combatting the virus. Bolt uses the word "Economy" ideologically and certainly not in terms of what it, in fact, is a descriptive for various "types of systems" and the system he refers to is what he calls an unregulated "free market" Capitalism which no longer exists in Australia and certainly isn't free. We are an Oligarchic Capitalist economy run by 1% of elites. Of course, the "economy" counts in this crisis because it can't cope and it should be "changed" not "saved" which is what Andrew Bolt is really saying " Save the Oligarchy". Real Change that entails pro-life are far too costly and have no place in the policies of Oligarchic Capitalism and even the moderate changes to save the system that accept the death of societies marginals are better than the death of our current economic system.
The fact is why are left-leaning economies like China, Vietnam, Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua and so many other more socialist countries performing better than we are in this crisis and far better than Bolt's ultra- role model the USA.
Risk; Andrew Bolt seems to believe that he knows more than the medical experts and virologists who clearly say we don't know enough about COVID-19 yet, but Bolt claims he does, Yet he offers no coherent evidence for his certainty. Bolt claims all we need to do is a) test as many people as possible b) separate the vulnerable for their protection and c) leaving us to treat those few infected. The fact that experts at every stage of Bolt's simplistic logistic plan say it's not feasible and every location different doesn't bother him, why? Simply because his childlike wants and demands come from a mind living down the rabbit hole.
The lack of knowledge makes Bolt's proposition of herd immunity unfeasible. Would Bolt encourage his own family, not to social-distance risking themselves the those they come in contact with? All on Bolt's negligent flip of a coin? Whose supports? He doesn't say. Is it his friends at the IPA? Is it the Dutch who don't seem to be succeeding in their efforts? It's certainly not the USA other than the Murdochian office. Even Trump has given up dropping bans and returning to normal. Bolt's only support is from those who believe in Mussolini's Corporate Fascist State and the Oligarchs who believe when they say jump everyone in the State asks how high? This is such an easy statement for a media hack to make as if Victoria and Australia's logistics were capable of what Taiwan was able to. We don't even have the basic testing equipment available to begin to do what Bolt suggests. The growth rate on the Mornington Peninsula alone proves that when people congregate for the purpose of isolation the area is one of the highest with "known" cases and they aren't doing what Bolt proposes being Taiwan.

After the death of Eurydice Dixon, I asked my wife when was the last time she felt scared. The answer shocked me.
Firstly, despite the well-meaning advice of the police that women should be “situationally aware” and have their phones with them, that didn’t save Eurydice Dixon, who fulfilled both criteria.

I had no clue that such precautions were part of her daily life and I suspect most Australian men are the same.

I agree that economic independence is a desirable goal that provides choices but Kelly seems to think that the only reason many women are not financially independent is because they just don’t understand how the system works. We understand well enough, it’s just that the majority of women do not have enough left over to worry about whether to put it into superannuation or a negatively-geared property or shares. Single parents don’t need lessons on economic literacy – they need practical help. Victims of domestic violence don’t need advertising campaigns – they need safe havens, legal help, and paid DV leave. It isn’t women that have to get smarter, it’s society that has to change.

Once the infrastructure is amortized air wind and tide are free clean healthy resources add those criteria and what have you got an FC Holden whose wheels are rusting off looking for fossil fuels to run or a Tesla fueled by a clean power source.
EVs today are running while petrol has stopped flowing in Texas and Florida. Green powered houses and businesses operating and the lights are on the fossil fuel alternativesare dead.
