How have aged care homes become the epicentre of the crisis? How do we fix this?

Who funds and runs aged care facilities? How have they become the epicentre of this crisis? And how do we fix this?

 Significant in this report is the lack of data, no figures are given as to the care-homes with the best and worst records. The State-run homes have had far less than 10% of the total number of deaths and far less spread rate than the Private and Commonwealth regulated homes. Yet Dan Andrews is getting the blame and Morrison was happy to allow it to happen adding fuel to the fire on Tuesday. 

Andrews has to date "helped ", out of necessity, the Commonwealth, and since this has come to light Morrison has back peddled and begun trying to pull his finger out. In the meantime, Dan Andrews has been getting an undeserved shellacking from the conservative MSM the PR division of the LNP. Today the best review Dan has had has been "Both Governments have made mistakes" which when analysed by the weight of those mistakes is utter bullshit.

 This 2nd wave's primary cause has been LNP Federal Government doing nothing since April despite Dan Andrew's warnings. Over 20% of cases coming from Commonwealth regulated aged-care facilities which Morrison demanded be open to visitors and cross-fertilising staff on no pandemic pay should they be forced to quarantine.  Staff so lowly paid they had to work. The majority of deaths have occurred in these facilities which were from the getgo understaffed and underequipped to cope.

The State LNP opposition leader O'Brien has the intelligence of less than a brick in the circumstance and is playing politics and being given air for being an absolute ignorant idiot calling Andrew to " ask the Commonwealth for help" when Andrews has been bailing them out and they have been asking for his which has been forthcoming.  He's shut down elective surgery for the LNP's incompetence. However, read News Corp or Ch9 and what you get is a sense at best that mistakes "have been made on both sides"  at worst it's the Victorian ALP government that's to blame. MSM PR and doing it in a pandemic is surely criminal. I notice Andrew Bolt changed his banner of blame today without saying sorry. Did he get legal guidance from above?

After weeks of dealing with a disaster of his own making, Daniel Andrews has shifted the blame for the crisis in aged care to Canberra but not everyone in the federal government is pleased with Victoria’s role in trying to stem the horrific outbreak.

The polluting of reality under the title of an "analysis" is the Herald Sun's toxic interpretation of facts for the sole purpose of misdirection on Morrison's behalf. Dan Andrews hasn't shifted anything. The Federal Government is to blame for the horrific outbreak of death that has occurred in the sector of Federal responsibility in Victoria. The LNP has remained silent allowing Murdoch media to misdirect what has occurred and who is really responsible.

 Since April Dan Andrews asked the ACT to regulate the visiting rules and casual work structure in the underregulated private aged-care homes under Morrison's supervision. They did nothing about it until 10 days ago after over 90% of the deaths that have occurred have done so in the Federal controlled homes. Andrews publicly called them out two days ago amplifying the conditions found only to have Greg Hunt cry crocodile tears denying the state and staffing under his jurisdiction. Now Murdoch media is playing word games and claiming them to be an analysis "Andrews has shifted the blame to Canberra" as if "the blame" was his. Of course, not everyone is pleased in Canberra the light of truth is being shone on them and Andrews has no intention to be their sacrificial lamb. His problem, however, is News Corp is the principle PR firm for the LNP and just been paid $10mill for their service

 Andrews has stepped into the breach to save lives and had to delay "elective surgery" to take over private hospital beds. How dare he do that and interfere with  Canberra's Private System. Morrison in Qld publicly declared he had to go to Victoria to fix up the "Victorian Mess" along with Murdoch media both were blowing political smoke of fake news over the landscape of reality

There has been one major mistake made yes, and that's  Bolt's "analysis" of what's been happening. However, this banner is the closest you will get to Bolt saying he was wrong. The facts have been reported that Morrison, not Dan Andrews was responsible for the "Victorian Disaster". Andrews acted when he realised Morisson wasn't going to, and Morrison did nothing it seems because he had the backing of Murdoch and the other conservative MSM acting as PR agencies on his behalf. All pointing to Victoria and the ALP.

Like Trump and the China virus, the media insisted calling this the "Victorian Deaths" and not just because of their location but rather to get Dan. Even Morrison said he had to miss a meeting in Qld because he needed to race South and deal with the "Victorian Problem".

All of these "newsmen" avoided the fact that 90% of the deaths in aged-care homes were under Scott Morrison's and the Federal watch and they had done nothing to deal with the issue since April when it was clear what was happening. Morrison even demanded an open door visitor's policy, no paid pandemic leave, and a casualised mobile workforce all against Dan Andrews and Victoria's Public Health advice. 

When Andrews grabbed media attention and said he wouldn't send his mother to any of Morrison's homes Greg Hunt the Minister cried crocodile tears saying they were excellent facilities operating under the world's best practice rules but with the world's worst results.

Here is Bolt doing Trump's Charlottesville jig declaring Morrison's neglect wasn't so bad as there were "mistakes" on both sides. No such feathered punch in the case of Indigenous deaths in custody as far as Bolt is concerned like Stolen Children there were none just look a the death certificates and the police and prison guards unfairly blamed.(ODT)

Morrison has lived with this style of divisive politics when inspired by the 2005 Cronulla riots. However, a new target was needed for his current LNP short term political purpose. Since being elected, he's been embarrassed by the economy, extreme weather. Newstart and everything else what better attention grabber than another threat on our front pages Sinophobia.

The Chinese are, after all, visible and everywhere. They have kept the global tourist industry booming for over a decade along with education they are literally everywhere, not just Australia. All of which is a sign of China liberating its population. While Australia's LNP has in fact been doing the reverse. It's not a good look and doesn't bode well on the front pages of our News does it? LNP ministers have gone into hiding because ASIO and the AFP have made the headline raids and the press has been advertising against them. So how better to deflect attention away than by turning on the Chinese whose pigtails we've been cutting off since the gold rush. The authors of an article claiming that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted a women when he was at university say the New York Times removed from their draft a critical paragraph saying the woman has no memory of any such thing. This is red hot. 

One only need ask why Bolt pumps for the story of "authors" unnamed here over and above the New York Times. It seems for no reason other than they contradict a single aspect of the NYT story. Not the details of what happened on campus and at the time. The fact that the woman wasn't traumatised has no bearing on the truth, or she even brushed it off years later. Whether the woman has or had no memory of an event that others have said happened doesn't escape the fact that Kavanaugh isn't fit for office. He was the one that lied. Bolt tries to brush that fact aside if he's suggesting it didn't happen. Remember Bolt's the author of his own Urban Myth "I was employed as a minder of a belly dancer" is his attempted claim to fame.

He represents the minority voice of climate change media deniers who represent a minority of corporate global and Australian interests in this country. They spend billions globally to ensure themselves a higher media presence that serves a distinct minority fighting facts and scientific research for policy sake only. We saw the difference at the last election when Tony Abbott was thrown out of Warringah by a knowledgable elite when economics and immediate material concerns such as jobs didn't hold precedence over a broader global problem. The fact that the LNP won the election certainly didn't indicate Australians don't believe in Climate Change, but immediate economic concerns took precedence.
 We are victims of generous servings of mainstream corporate News and Information whose business models are dependant on their existence for money and have turned into selling the opinions of those who can pay along with and in partnership with politicians who attend to policies that will favour the interests of their donors.
 It's not to say economics has become the primary concern of corporate media, but it is to say attention scientific facts that challenge the economic interests to become secondary concerns or are openly denied. Race, religion and Culture become the distraction and smokescreen differences the diversion and are given far greater attention than they deserve than issues that concern us all now and into the future. Focus on the common good remains hidden. We need more now than ever the ABC to be saved and return to become the questioning and critical eye on demanding accountability from our leadership rather than just PR firms for the venal interests of 1%.

 Yassmin Abdel Magied challenged a myth and did Andrew Bolt support her right to that challenge no he readily helped drive a young talented Australian Engineer that was a role model for other intelligent women out of the country. Efforts to change in fact destroy Indigenous Culture have existed white men got off a boat 200 years and can be said to have been entirely successful. The majority of indigenous Australians are Christians note Andrew Bolt never mention that. One might say they practice Christianity more than the majority of White Australians do.
 We know they have been introduced to the mainstream diet of processed foods, alcohol and drugs, another success and white man's history and until this century was never regarded as equal in any material sense. Australian whites felt no shame in their treatment.
Discrimination has been Indigenous history, and Australia's shame and conservatives like Andrew Bolt who simply can't sweep it under the carpet any longer is to deny that reality altogether and blame Indigenous Australians and their Culture for their circumstance today.
 Conservatives create overt and superficial fake myths that hide the existence of what has occurred. They want it written out of our history and buried.  Bolt supports Jacinta Price simply because she voices and amplifies an old white colonial perspective that blames Aborigines for their position in Australia's social hierarchy today and says it's their fault.
 She might be of Aboriginal descent, but she certainly doesn't represent the Indigenous peoples of Coff's Harbour or Alice Springs. It seems the Coff's Harbour Council recognizes that fact. Andrew Bolt doesn't seem to acknowledge saying Jacinta Price is black an Aborigine, and so has some sort of entitlement in telling how they should act an be treated. She is black, but a white appointed racist.  Price hasn't been prevented from speaking. But where she can and the facilities she can use in Coff's is the Council's entitlement. The Council is the elected representatives of Coff's Harbour, and are entitled to make that decision. In this case, they have delegated that decision to the Indigenous residents of Coffs.

After Whitlam’s death Andrew Bolt was quick to describe his failures as thus:
The disaster was inevitable. With the Budget blown and the international oil shock hitting a weakened economy, the Whitlam government saw unemployment nearly triple, the tax take double, the deficit blow out, and inflation soar to almost 20 per cent.
Bolt – as usual – doesn’t know what he is talking about. He makes no allowance for the oil shock and an American recession.
He adopted multiculturalism, only to encourage a dangerous new tribalising of Australia. 
Conclusion
What ever your political disposition there cannot be any doubt that he changed the country for the better.
As for the other side of the ledger, the economics, I would suggest that history is beginning to look favourably on the intellectual giant that he was.
 My thought for the day
 The left of politics is concerned with people who cannot help themselves. The right is concerned with those who can.

Bolt has been little more than a barrack-er from the bleachers when it comes to Climate Change unable to provide any logical or scientific argument against. So at times, he has turned to total denial then swings to agreement amplifying the complexities involved to swinging back calling Warmists a Religious cult bereft for facts. He's denied there's any consensus to be had and for a long time maintained the planet was cooling. Now he's taken to attacking individuals Prince Harry and a 16-year-old child as if they were the leaders of this Warmist cult rather than the consensus among the worlds scientific bodies.

Basically, Bolt's been like a flag in a storm blowing for attention and the amusement of the majority watching it being torn apart.

Bolt is losing the attention of Australia's major Institutional players, Banks, Investors, and even the major Industries. He certainly didn't capture the attention of the voters of Warringah or help Abbott his" dog"  in the race. 

Australia 0.3% of the world's pop is the 14th largest emitter of Greenhouse Gases ahead of 40 other nations with much larger populations. However, because it's such a large exporter of fossil fuel its impact on the planet is far greater. We are the 3rd biggest exporters of fossil fuels and allow other nations to be emitters, and Bolt's only argument to this is denial or that it's a global problem of which we have little or no share.

 It appears he can't run that argument over and over again, so he's turned to attacking a 16-year-old and to cover his hypocrisy over Adam Goodes he's also targeted others like the UK Royalty why? Because the UK Tories Conservatives have silently been pushing the Australian government to be far more proactive on Climate Change. I suspect Bolt aware of the UK Conservative push so has turned on the British Royalty Rather than the Conservative Party. Has anyone seen Bolt accept reasonable disagreement?
Elton John showed just how wrong Bolt is declaring he arranged Carbon neutral flights for harry and his wife. Something Bolt must have known given his access to the real facts, but he chose to bury this one. If he didn't know it shows what a reckless jock he is with information. (ODT)
