To prove he's an ultra racist that never gives in despite the fact all those around him have moved forward on humanist grounds Andrew Bolt proves hes not Rudyard Kipling's man from the poem "If". He's is a child who refuses to give in. He's not only remains bitter about his earlier put down but is a brat in every sense of the word. A hypocrite of course because back in the day he called a truce on the hounding of Adam Goodes himself.
The social world we live is a social construction of meanings in some cases shared in many not. Dustin Martins gesture was clear and obvious to all those who follow AFL and are not new to Australia. It was hardly a confusing gesture. The rules are quite clear on it's symbolic nature and were applied.
Adam Goodes dance and spearthrowing gesture had obviously less shared meaning even though it was Indigenous Day another forgotten meaning on the day . The whole episode could be likened to a Australian tourist patting a childs'd head in Thailand which is extremely rude and upsetting to some Thais but and affectionate gesture by the tourist. Obviously it's an action not symbolically shared. Bolt's akin to the angry Thai demanding the tourist be thrown in prison in other words making him the bigot over reacting to the situation.
Bolt is a racist who gave no consideration to the meaning of Goodes's gesture other than the one he had decided to put on it. He was left far from the majority of opinion and now remains a drowning man grasping at straws. In this case Leigh Matthews is just another straw. Bolt hasn't gained any advantage by his moronic revival of a matter that's now considered done and dusted. His continuance just substantiates his racism and his immaturity. It once again reminds us that the AFL rules aren't that complicated and are applied with more common sense than what Bolt shows.

I'm sure serious discussions about bombing Syria did begin months ago about the time Abbott disappeared from the face of media because everything at the time was making him look a fool. Bolt certainly kept him off his radar and turned to Shorten and other side shows to feed his blogs. The fatuous argument that Beson and Bolt have put forward that there was no Canning conspiracy doesn't hide the fact that Abbott uses Defence and National security to bolster his ratings and that Canning will be a Khaki election. Any election Abbott runs will be along with Border Protection. Abbott simply likes standing between uniforms and flags. All this tedious attention to when Randall died and who said what is just a smokescreen to deny this intent.
Whether Abbott's ratings were slipping or not doesn't hide the fact he was after poll improvement politicians always are and the only way he'd managed it in the past was playing the warrior leader. Approaching Obama on Syria was a way forward as Iraq had slipped off the front page and Syria was gaining greater attention as a topic of conversation.

They might as well have written that the Left don't take FARC in South America seriously or Al Shabab in Africa or any other revolutionary or terrorist group. Williams had specific issues with the people he worked there with but none with the Charleston shootings by Dylan Roof. Bolt, Breitbart and Powerline attempt to make them seem racially equivalent hate events. Bolt jumps on the right wing band wagon and is happy to see the racial history of America reduced to the reverse racism white victimhood at the hands of groups like Black Lives Matter.

As I've always said Bolt tries to make single News Corp sound byte look like a hydra and a variety of opinions when in fact it's only one. The longer his blogs are the less he has to say and the larger the smokescreen, misrepresentation deflection and distortion is.

1 They are not "illegal Immigrants" they are legal asylum seekers.
2 There is no doubt many are dying in desperation to escape where they are coming from. In Syria for instance 250,000 have died in the past 5 years. Bolt finds it strange that people are in fact fleeing death.
Australia is about to start bombing Syria and Bolt needs them to stay there. Yes people are connecting with smugglers along the way and dying as a consequence. Largely because of the efforts to stop them reaching European safe havens. To call them illegals and economic refugees is nothing more than changing the narrative to enable the illegal process of fence building.
3 If asylum seekers were not prevented in their efforts would as many have died, no. Would smugglers be as able to operate so dangerously on a minimum expense for maximum profit business model of course not. Bolt's argument these people must be stopped an towed back is the ludicrous pretext to be saved from dying. If you want to save them from drowning you allow them to come in safe boats. They wouldn't then die because you've destroyed the smugglers business model.

What Bolt overlooks and has never understood was the meaning of scientific method. Scientific method is about collecting as much data about the globe possible and trying to evaluate emergent patterns that are occurring. Long distant futuristic predictions aren't the core of science at all.
However that's where skeptics love to sit on that fringe of uncertainty and faith jousting not with the data and patterns that are emerging and being agreed upon in the real world. But in the realm of imaginary dragons and exaggeration for little more than venal interests and political friends. It's where they feel safe talking bullshit fantasy and uncertainty not in the realm of 97% agreed upon global science. Bolt is comfortable playing in the media sandpit of opinion with the kids but he shuts up when it comes to current and strong emerging evidence. No he even simply denies it.
