Obama’s Syrian army: just four soldiers

Link BBC

Bolt picks a failure by the US and generalizes it as not only Obama's personal failure but an explanation for the failure of the entire Middle East war. Bolt generally explain the war out of any historical context prior to Obama's election. The current circumstances have been the failure of American foreign policy since 2003. However any explanation of  the Middle East needs to take into consideration Western Colonialism before and after that date. This war's explanation as just a series of micro managed events won or lost is purely a short term strategy for political advantage. In the long term it becomes an on going series wins and losses never understanding the war at large or the series of  unintended consequences that merely resulted more war from Aghanistan through the middle East and across Northern Africa.

The Republicans more than the Democrats see the war as a possible and immediate political advantage for the 2016 Presidential campaign. The Democrats have had much longer term hopes  but both however are serious failures the course of history can't be changed that easily . However the Military Industrial Complex has been a major winner and continues to be so. Everybody is fighting with " made in the USA" weapons. Everybody is being serviced by private contractors, War is always a commercial success,

Brough runs straight into a battle Abbott spotted a mile off

Link ABC

Mal Brough has no  concerns for diplomacy, doesn't mind playing it rough and seems more self concerned than represenative. The center of Ashbygate  one would have believed was an Abbott man through and through. However he's one of Turnbull's chosen. Bolt seems to be suggesting Brough has revealed an Abbott tactic far too early and too far out from the next election. A very poor political move relaying it to the cross bench through the media rather than discussing it face to face.

I just don't like the man because he was central to the destruction of Peter Slipper for nothing more than meagre political advantage that will continue to blow up in the Liberal's face.

The defence of this country no longer watched by hawks

Link Paywall to Murdoch's Australian.

Peter Dutton the hawk with his eyes on the ball couldn't see the boom that helped blow his boss out of the job. Scott Morrison was the man warning  the other two twats that there was a boom there and Bolt is calling him a weak link. How would anybody ever want Peter Dutton with his finger on the red button? It's about time parliament made the decision on whether we really want to send Australians off to kill or be killed and not a committee of 6

I am being ignored

No nobody can explain to him the meaning of something so unfunny so un Australian. Jack simply senses it because he's an Aussie who has listen to and felt and appreciated the differences all of us. He knows that a hand has five fingers and each one is different.

Turnbull’s Washington puzzle

What a web Bolt likes to spin. Firstly Bolt doesn't believe Costello and basically is calling him a liar. Costello says he knew nothing of ballot until the day it had been called. So Bolt's suggested timing doesn't fit. Secondly it follows he doesn't believe Turnbull either. There are so many people Bolt regards as less than honorable in the Liberal Party why on earth does he consider them as a worthwhile government to follow when basically he's telling us they're not. So if he has no respect for Labour he really couldn't give a shit about  the politics of Australia.

Bolt says Peter Costello is a person to fear because he's a commentator what a self centered projection by Bolt. Costello may be someone to fear because he is possibly a mentor to some sitting MPs not because he's a commentator. Bolt is a commentator who nobody fears he's little more than a nuisance like a blow fly. As for Hockey being compensated for going quitely that's certainly a possibility. However not a guaranteed one because after all he has a family and kids to consider. all parties need to agree. However we do know Hockey announced that he wasn't going to stay. Bolt is certainly not 'breaking' any story here.

Australian boasts a bit too quickly

Link Paywall to Murdoch's Australian. 2GB

This post is all about boasting  and it's all about Bolt boasting with no evidence that he "broke " the story that Morrison refused Abbott's offer and was the real traitor in this story.

"In fact, as listeners to my nightly spot with Steve Price will know, we broke the story on Tuesday, two days before the Australian."

Bolt provides no evidence of him 'breaking' any story in Australia. As I recall his blogs kept Scott Morrison totally out of the picture with regards any notion of treachery because he was Rupert's and therefore Bolt's annointed and blessed one. Even I a total non professional was stating that it was obvious Morrison was the Brutus in this story and that Bolt was in fact protecting him. Bolt broke nothing and he will be breaking less and less in the future.

An editor losing that much money shouldn’t disparage the papers subsidising him

The editor of The Australian offered an explanation as to why Bolt always has an audience response different to what the majority is really thinking. Bolt's audience always seems like no other. While the Australian public is pleased that Abbott's gone and that confidence is up Bolt  tells us  the opposite they are angry. It doesn't ring true anywhere.  Does he suggests he's more plausible because the Australian is losing $$$. What did I say yesterday? Commonsense to nonsense should be Bolt's 3 word slogan.

"The Australian’s editor-in-chief Chris Mitchell said that while this might be the case, the readers of Bolt’s blog were different from The Australian’s core demographic.

“Bolt’s audience includes many conservative retirees whereas The Australian’s readership is younger, rich, better educated and working in legal, political or the business community,’’ he said. “These people don’t read the Tele or Bolt.”

Bolt's response who offers no statistics or demographics to his claims has taken offense to nothing but the suggestion that the  young and educated class are not his followers "Untrue, ungenerous and unprofessional, as I explained here to Steve Price. The lawyers and young professionals listening to us were not impressed either."

What does Bolt offer as  evidence for a much more informed demographic only his word. He's a man of few numbers but a lot of words. Revealing is his argument that those who make the most $$ are the most believable. Money says it all and that's why we need to pay homage to Rupert, Gina, James, and Lachlan etc. PS the Herald Sun does not make a profit either.

Is Billson too independent for Turnbull

Link The Canberra Times

PM's are entitled to choose their cabinets. Bolt's question simply shows he like all other commentators really don,t know. However Billson holds a very marginal seat which would suggest he can't be too independant.  However personalities also do exist in parliament too. Imagine if Bolt was a sitting member would he have won a cabinet post?

Abbott says Morrison “misled”

Link Paywall to Murdoch

How do you know a politician is lying " when he moves his lips". Who are we to believe? Why among all the players with 65+ lies under his belt should we believe  Tony Abbott because  his mate Andrew Bolt does? Bolt is in the category of Alan Jones and Ray Hadley when it comes to being mates. What is the basis of that mateship?

If Abbott doesn't accept it was  the Liberal Party and Democratic process that occurred  he will soon find he's even further on the outer.  As Peter Costello said the Liberal Party only rewards success and Abbott wasn't having it in their eyes. So Mr Abbott are you and do you want to be part of the Liberal Party anymore there is no point in squealing. Scott Morrison was invited to a private dinner with Rupert Murdoch after you had yours. Will you be having anymore in the future? How about some private meetings with Andrew Bolt instead. Would they satisfy?

No, not soft on Liberal leaders generically

Link Paywall to Murdoch's Australian, ABC

Malcolm in the Middle has been critcized by the Murdoch's brat pack for being in the middle. Well now the ABC is criticized by Bolt for being too lite why? Turnbull is according to Andrew Bolt one of 'them'. So basically what Bolt is really saying is the ABC is in the middle and were never extreme lefties. So along with the new PM  they are Liberal Lite. Isn't that where he wanted the ABC to be all along in the center. Now he's complaining  not because it's early days and an undeserved honeymoon period but because they are balanced. We shouldn't need reminding of  Tony Abbott's caveat about the media when Labour was recieving such bad press under Gillard.

" if you want good press you need to provide good government I accept that" Tony Abbott

"Her interviews with the former prime minister and treasurer were so antagonistic that at one point, after the budget in May last year, the new Prime Minister himself criticised her style, along with Lateline host Emma Alberici’s." Bolt's complaint.

So given the Turnbull government has done nothing but select a new cabinet and that even Andrew Bolt said yesterday that what he's done  wasn't bad and it gave him hope he and the ABC and he seem to be on same page.  His criticism of bias is entirely misplaced.  If according to Tony Abbott himself bad government deserves bad press and in a self confessed moment  he said  "good government starts today" but it didn't he deserved what he got.

So  Abbott deserved  bad press  and for the moment Turnbull the lite. Democratic process won the day and no Machiavellian scheming has been proved or admitted to. Bolt at least has found no evidence for it in the past weeks other than the normal paranoia. What's obvious Abbott's PMO failed him because it remained so exclusive Turnbull knows that performance is everything

Newspoll: Turnbull honeymoon bounce just takes Libs to 51-49

Bolt rarely has anything good to say ever. Guess we will getting a lot of inside from the backbench in the future. Don't expect that to be good either. What a downer Bolt is delivering depression to one and all in Melbourne the worlds most liveable city. Maybe we can feel lite again  as we did during the GFC  New PM, consumer confidence soars

John howard said the polls killed Abbott Turnbull admits what few will
