Greer even floated the idea of doing away with rape as a crime altogether and replacing it with a "coherent law of sexual assault" which sounds tremendously exciting and deliberately provocative.

 We have no need of a public contrarian or provocateur, we are too busy fighting our small ideological skirmishes on social media. If we need a cultural reference to illustrate our point, we tag our friends in a meme, for we have no need to speak about an old-fashioned comedy that appeared on television. Why would we? None of our peers would have seen it.

Nationally Reilly in her comment that Germaine Greer is out of date unwanted and has entirely missed the point is what she claims Greer to be out of date and missing the point despite the fact that she's of this generation a millennial. The reality of what Greer is saying is exemplified in the case of Robert Doyles alleged victims and their fear with only a few emboldened by current events.

Greer is talking about our Culture our systems and social structures that determine our patterns of our behaviors as individuals. That "me too" may have emboldened some women to speak up but it fails to grasp the fact that the systems under which we operate all and need to be changed and the normality of their class nature revealed. Sexual assault of women for Greer is normal and not exceptional in our society speaking up against Weinstein , Woody and Doyle might draw attention to it but not in any revolutionary way no matter whether social media gives voice to more individual women or not. Without changing the nature of the system and it's social structures that normalize men's predatory and machismo behaviors nothing will have changed nor equality gained. 

Greer's practical method to start to change the individual relationships between men and women is to change our laws to a "coherent set" where sexual assault is recognized and taken for granted as a normal part of our current aberrant Culture and Social System. Metaphorically speaking we seem unable to accept that in order to change the trees you need to have a notion of a forest in which they exist that needs changing. It's that point that keeps Greer relevant today and the millennial Reilly an outdated and never-ending mole whacker. The Social structure that determines the trends in our behaviors and acceptable social psychology needs changing it took time but changing the laws on homosexuality eventually changed our laws and attitudes on marriage equality and will inevitably lead over time to safe schools social media won't.

I was in Kununurra and my motel faced the school i watched the kids playing together they were all just kids and all just Australian kids at that. Seeming vs doing: the Burnside example

The link is to the Australian and locked so I can't make an unsourced comment however I suspect Bolt is twisting and quoting Burnside out of context. If you compare the two for brains Bolt is way behind.

 The second reason for not taking on board what Bolt is saying is that The Australian is Murdoch's national flagship unlike the Herald Sun it upholds higher standards as a newspaper. Bolt's usual approach take a single event and make a generalisation that there is disintegration of authority. Well maybe the public are reacting in a way that reflects their dissatisfaction our system. The fact we have transit police reflects a broken system. Not what Bolt's suggesting an increase of social disintegration. The number of occasions transit officers have been seen physically harming members of the public for absolutely stupid reasons. Hauling a senior citizens off transport when they have paid with their Myki cards  but  have left their senior cards at home. If the systems broke why defend it. Anyway how many times has Bolt even used public transport?

Given  Avigdor Lieberman Foreign Minister of Israel can say publicly while protected with taxpayer money that non Jewish Israelis should be beheaded if found disloyal to Israel. A demonstration against anti Israel policies might actually be seen as a good thing. Demonstrations against the war in Vietnam and the televising of them certainly assisted in bringing to and end that unjust conflict. How is it the services of remote white communities where there is no school or work aren't cut? Chewton Victoria has a population of 26 I believe it has power, water, and a post office. To live there is more likely to be a lifestyle choice.

3 towns in the Kimberleys  with populations of approx 300 each 2 indigenous one white. All remote and all with the equivalent unemployment stats of approx 48%. Work opportunities are limited in all of them.The two indigenous communities are being weighed for closure the white community not why?

They don't speak English and some have never lived in cities. Remote country is their country it's not a lifestyle choice gleaned from a glossy magazine.

He will drive a confused people into camps on the outskirts of towns like Broome and Kalgoorlie  where there there is no work and create refugee camps, increased policing, social welfare and cultural chaos. Simply put Intervention will increase as will costs.

Bolt is such a Klutz. Radiation isn't the key issue  with regard Nuclear Power. Nevertheless if he believes Chernobyl is safe let Murdoch to finance his work from there. Put your body where your mouth is Bolt. You  couldn't be dragged there kicking and screaming.

Expense and cleanliness remain the unresolved issues of Nuclear power. There are plants that were commissioned in the 70's that aren't up and running yet. That's 40 years and still not in operation. If plants were started now that's way past 2055 before they are operational. How much more fossil fuel can we burn?  Cleanliness is of immediate concern. Tidal power is still an experimental technology and only small scale.

However solar and wind are ready to go and have become cheaper than fossil fuel. Bolt's argument about the safety of radiation is a side issue in the whole argument and can be settled over time. However if he has so much faith in it let him  take his family on a working holiday to Chernobyl to prove  the harmlessness of radiation his Bolt Report ratings might go up.
