Most white people I know believe that black lives matter. They will tell you they voted for Obama twice. They cannot stand Donald Trump. They are enraged by police brutality. These are the white people I want to speak to: Your anger and sadness about the big things are meaningless if you choose to do nothing about the small things you have control over.
 Actions matter. Don't just talk, act. Check out the actions that white people have already compiled for their peers. What I want to do here is draw your attention to similarities between three very mundane actions of white people that perpetuate modern-day lynching without requiring a knee on the neck, a chokehold, or a loaded gun. These types of everyday actions of white people make it difficult for my community to breathe.
 
1. The failure to humanize black people. 
 
2. The automatic presumption of guilt. 

3. The assumption that white people are inherently better.

There is no parallel unless one admits American blacks live their lives in an even larger open-air prison than Palestinians do today. It's an economic cultural and psychological jail in which white see as free and meritorious. Afro Americans are also over-policed, over-charged, and over= incarcerated while being under-employed. They suffer far more medical stress and less access to health services than any other groups except possibly indigenous Americans. Americans might insist to be colour blind but racism is so ingrained in their Culture and psyche it's not just denied but unseen.
Yet no matter the class, education, or even nationality if black in America it's difficult to breathe and we saw it with Trump's birtherism of Obama and now the current riots in over 30 American cities today. If Obama and Oprah were on the streets today they find it difficult not to be treated for anything other than their blackness. Whites are in those crowds but not getting the same attention.
When leaders throughout history confronted such intense protests leaders that listened and brought about change were praised those that simply increased policing failed. Trump has failed in every each way even using force badly.

Australia's leading press racist Andrew Bolt claims he is colour blind yet attacks coloured Australians with energy exclusive to Andrew Bolt calling them all "racists". If someone has a hint of colour and a complaint they're racists according to Bolt.
 He says he had a best friend once when at school who was black. He certainly hasn't a colour blind memory then has he? However, we have never heard what happened to that ex-best friend and what he thinks of Andrew Bolt today? That best friend was dragged up as if a myth and relegated to a once unproven history that Bolt spins and has proven to be his fantasy more than once.
The fact is Racism exists in Australia and Bolt insists the means to eradicate it is to simply ignore, deny it. But don't for a whitewashed Christ sake speak up and expect to change anything. Bolt, after all, wants to breathe.

As the two-state solution slides, or rather is driven, into oblivion by the Trump administration and the Israeli government, I am reminded of a comment John Bolton, now the president’s National Security Advisor, made in 2017. He was in Israel at the time and he said there should be a three-state solution: the Israelis to absorb most of the West Bank including the settlements and areas already designated as under its full control, the Jordanians to pick up the isolated Palestinian communities that were left in the West Bank and Egypt to take Gaza. The Palestinian dream of a homeland snuffed out irrevocably. The Bolton joke oops!!

 Let's not forget the destruction of Secular Arabic states was a plan conceived as far back as the 70s and has been slowly enacted to prevent a pan-Arabic union of increasingly secular countries like Egypt, Libya, Iraq, Syria all with armies and access to wealth and a potential to resist as a united front. Andrew Bolt has won little or nothing in the 30 years he's worked at News Corp. Bolt deflects the issue away from Koch as if the article was written by the ABC. However no matter who published the article it was written by a journalist that was with News Corp for 30 years and can't merely be written off as a "lefty". Koch won his awards while at Murdoch media.  No conservatives in the press cries Andrew Bolt none at the Guardian None at the ABC "irony is dead"? He truly is a lunk.

“It’s not always a Murdoch line; it’s just that Murdoch hires editors who are very much like him.”
 The extraordinary interview emerged on the same day a celebrated former Murdoch employee Tony Koch, 67, criticised his old employer for “shameful bias”.
The irony is still to come when Bolt starts talking of a conspiracy.

Andrew Bolt preferred writing obits to real journalism, and in any true media organisations where journalists work, Andrew Bolt wasn't regarded as a real journalist.  Any journalist worth his salt appointed to that role of obit writer knew he was on his way out of the organisation.
In the '90s Murdoch with the help of Roger Ailes started to focus on targeting news to a particular Demographic Ailes called the monied 55 to Dead. That began tailoring their communication according to what that audience wanted to hear reinforcing their beliefs and basically dividing the country. Soon others began to follow like Sinclair who today is determined to chase Fox's demographic.
Andrew Bolt was groomed in that era where the semblance of debate which we see occurring on the ABC's The Drum, Q&A and other programs has basically disappeared from Sky. The news didn't any longer need any semblance of truth, and it became the ideal for Bolt who simply hated the work of journalism. It took Bolt to where he is today the Bolt Report and the weekly carousel of repetitive storytelling on various topics from week to week. Bolt really doesn't need to work at all just read the autocue nightly and have a whiskey with a mate. His columns are generally set for the week, and so the repetition begins no new work is necessary and would have fallen into his lap to even get noticed, It's, in fact, the Lazy Susan of commentary and you won't get so don't expect any better. The formula has been set.

I have never been a member of a political party, but this time I was so disgusted with what News Corp was shoving down the neck of my fellow Australians that I volunteered in my local electorate of Dickson to assist the Labor candidate.
I did it because the candidate is Ali France who was a cadet at the Courier-Mail when I was there 25 years ago, and her ability and honesty are well-known. She does not deserve to be discriminated against by any media bent on ensuring she does not get a fair go.
And that has certainly happened.

"Oh Really," Says Bolt about the ABC's bias on global warming. When let's face it Scott Morrison says he's on the side of the science that Bolt denies. So is Tony Abbott who now says he's a believer too. Strange Bolt never mentions that. Even the people Bolt and News Corp reference deny the way they have been used. Brian Fisher who appeared on the News Corp front pages said all he was doing was trying to start a debate because he wasn't up with the science and agrees his, wasn't the full story.
As for cyclones, Bolt refers to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology but the conversation isn't about Australia or only about Bolt's backyard but the Planet, the Globe that's why it's called Global Warming Mr Bolt and not Australian Warming.
The Americans and Trump are currently politickings about just that the worst damage due to the intensity of cyclones and fires experienced over wider populated areas in US history, and that's supported by Fox News Murdoch Media.
Bolt spends an inordinate time talking about Kiribati and Tuvalu and how they aren't sinking, but for a change, he slid past Professor Kenches conclusions because they don't actually support Bolt. That despite the Attol Islands growth populations are being threatened with displacement, and will continue to be that threat needs to be better understood, and Bolt calls this "Fake Facts".

Fake News isn't the silence that deniers are jumping away from the bullshit that Bolt still preaches. Or isn't until only recently the claim the planet has been cooling for the past 20 years, the seas aren't rising, the ice caps aren't melting and nor are the glaciers. If that isn't fake Bolt has joined the ranks of One Nation and Clive Palmer and will have nothing to do with the 95% of Australians rural and urban that say otherwise. Australians who see him as a wanker a divider a Trumpster who will simply do and say what his boss Rupert the American wants him to say. But he should he be just mimicking American politics and not Australian? 


 

DOWNER REJECTS PAPADOPOULOS "SPY" CLAIM

From the very first instance, Andrew Bolt has got things wrong the current head of the FBI Christopher Wray appointed by Trump has publicly denied what Bolt, Fox and  Trump keep saying. There was no FBI spying or underhanded investigation into the Trump campaign. Trump and Fox keep pushing that barrow don't they. There is no evidence that Comey ever ran such a secret operation according to Downer.  "Well I don't know," says Bolt disappointed towing the Trump Murdoch line despite what Trump's current FBI head has said which is confirmed by the ambassador. Bolt asks our current American Ambassador a question that could never have had a negative or scandalous response he'd hoped, as, after all, Downer is our leading "diplomat". Andrew Bolt got 15minutes of absolutely nothing out of Alexander Downer other than a comment on Paul Keating who was once our PM over 20 years ago. What a pathetic effort on Bolt's part to say he was a Trump supporter when he used to declare he wasn't and that he here in Australia doesn't believe what Downer said about the FBI.  That's Bolt for you propagandising hoping a staunch Liberal will support his idiocy and doesn't.
Is it any wonder Andrew Bolt is fast becoming the insignificant man in the News Corp and Sky organizations? He has hardly been the centre of Election 2019, has he?

 What we have here is Bolt visiting his past when he told us farmers haven't been experiencing a drought that Australia has had the wettest year on record.  That farmers weren't experiencing drought just a regular dry in Qld and NSW. There was no extreme weather. In Qld, they went from bolt's normal dry to his normal floods that saw 500,000 cattle perish. All regular Australian events to urban Andrew Bolt and farmers were talking crap. Bolt certainly is an influencer, isn't he?
The farmers certainly aren't convinced by Andrew Bolt nor the LNP who Topher points out changed the laws in 2007 for votes. The ALP only gained office in Dec of that year, and the LNP have done nothing in the past 6 except buy back water rights to the tune of $80 million in a river without water. What seems far more realistic is the voice of the farmers themselves who have continued to say there is a DROUGHT and it's real in the areas affected. However not only have they had to experience extremes of weather but also regulation affecting their agri-businesses from Qld to NSW and Victoria. All Bolt is concerned with is trying to tell us they really don't know what they are talking about that he was right all along. How self-interested is Andrew Bolt in his efforts never to admit he was wrong.

 Here we have Andrew Bolt repeating a post he put up a few days ago why? Desperately trying to declare Robert Di Natale is an influencer and enabler of hate and driver of violence. The violence of egg throwing why? Because Di Natale pointed out the influence of the hatred, Andrew Bolt has inspired for years against Muslims. Bolt has been accused along with News Corp and Sky in raising, enabling and recruiting the extreme right's increasing violence against Muslim Australians and Islam everywhere. So much so that the anti-Muslim sentiment is greater than in the EU yet we have had the least reason for it. Bolt has helped racialise the extreme right in Australia has personally attacked Australian Muslims like Yassmin Waleed and his wife, Dr Susan Carland. He's called out for Christians to stand tall and fight and given air to the sails of Reclaim Australia, The UPF, Blair Cotterel Pauline Hanson and others. So much so he's been named as aiding and abetting the radicalisation of the Christchurch shooter. He's declared after this event 2 days after that there was violence on both sides trying to take the context out of the argument in the same way as Donald Trump did after Charlottesville and has followed the Fox News line to say that the increase in right-wing violence in America has had nothing to do with him. All this is Bolt's smokescreen to deflect attention to what Robert Di Natale pointed out on Bolts show for us to watch Andrew Bolt look the idiot Trumpster that really does need to be investigated more closely by our security agencies/

COURT FREES PRIEST. JURY VERDICT UNSOUND

 Let's first say off the bat that the 'court' Bolt complains about in the Pell case is the same 'court' in the system as the one he's been complaining about all week. It too found Tyrrell guilty. Yet Bolt has been the primo media whinger about the court which did the same to George Pell. Tyrrell appealed and won. We didn't hear Bolt being at all involved in his case. The fact that he did get off is no reason however to assume Pell will as the two particular cases are distinct. There seems no reason or case for raising Tyrrell's circunstance.
 At no time have we heard that Bolt has faith in our rule of law and justice system which in the case of George Pell isn't over. Bolt instead believes that his blowhard opinions from the bleachers might have some influence over the Appeal process which is still continuing. He's not attended any of the 4-week court process that declared Pell guilty, and he won't participate in any of the appeal. However, he believes he's far wiser than our courts despite the fact he's only been party to the hearsay evidence like all of us. Not a particularly sound basis, and certainly not all the facts that were presented to the jury under the advice of Justice Peter Kidd. Bolt is hardly in a position to act as a juror.
Note however how Pell is of more concern to Bolt than the 40 people killed in NZ today . The perpertrator Brenton Tarrant an Australian it appears held similar views we have heard from Bolt regularly over the past few years. Their manifestos very similar and greater attention need be given to our vilification laws and those walking the edge testing them. Advertisers should consider twice those opinionators they wish to be associated with.

 The lack of equality ensures the power differential to present ideas indeed isn't equal, and the Bolt Report is the perfect example of why ideas fail to be rationally debated or even tested. The Bolt Report is not a testing ground of views or the ideal of JS Mills notion of the importance of 'free speech' at all. It's not the Greek Agora or even Speakers Corner, but it is merely a preaching platform for a particular form of repetitive message. Theoretically, the most significant test Bolt actually faces is the danger that advertisers will desert him and they are.

No government in my memory has done so much to change the meaning of our words and language. 240 people are now an "invasion" of a nation of 350 million people. Moreover, it's a National Emergency.  Verified news has become 'fake news', opinion is now the news of the day, and now the 'occupation of Palestinian territories is 'Israeli-controlled'.
    This assault on our language prevents rational debate and politicises our language in the order it seems merely blur the notion of agreed facts on which a discussion can legitimately be had, it normalises Fox News as a legitimate source of information, and it legitimises Trumps Presidency. A questionable won in as much its votes were 3 million less than Clintons. The Trump inauguration the least popular in recent times. The 15 lies a day Trump delivers can be called the truth. What we are witnessing is the colonisation of the English language.


    DIVINITY UNIVERSITY BANS PELL DEFENDER. THEY'D BETRAY CHRIST, TOO

    Judases. Melbourne's University of Divinity has dumped Fr Frank Brennnan from speaking at its graduation ceremony, where he was to get its highest award. The reason: he'd written why Cardinal George Pell's conviction seemed unsound, and having him now at the ceremony "could have caused distress". Wasn't Christ crucified for causing distress?

So whose the Judas here? Symbolically the school wanted to show their graduates they believed in the separation of religion and the state. Bolt doesn't.

    Amazing how Bolt deflects attention away from the issue of the Liberal bullying Culture to generalise it's really the culture of the Greens. One only needs to look at Tony Abbott's personal history to understand the nature of bullying cultures. He's admitting it's been a long time between events which can't be said of the Liberals and their supporter's bullying has been a constant topic of conversation over multiple occasions, and it's not just the bullying of women either.  Liberals are far more predictable they don't apologise.
    But more to the point Bolt is highlighting what the women have said but lowlighting anything the current batch of Liberal women has said. Why would that be if he weren't a bully?

  He was allowed into the country no questions asked. His visit disturbed a large number of Australians not for what he says but for the arrest of journalists and the arrests of people held on no charge even opposition MP. He is facing charges and is under criminal investigation for receiving bribes and undeclared gifts. What we have here is an attack on Charles Rhicardson who simply raised the question of why another "extremist" a Palestinian  hasn't been allowed into the country to speak. Bolt's wilful ignorance of the right wing Israeli Government is a bigger mistake because it is in fact propaganda not written by Bolt but handed to him. Bolt seems to be suggesting that the IDF and the military courts of Israel are also ignorant and don't know what they are doing. Bassem Tamimi  has been jailed on a number of occasions by the Israeli's but never for what Bolt declares to be "dangerous acts of violence" by one of Palestine's greatest terrorists. Bolt holds the mike has the platform which he doesn't share which brands him for what he is. He writes columns and blogs without providing any room for response as shown by the fact his blogs are moderated. He presents himself a some sort of expert on other peoples lives. He says he a conversation starter a debater however who is he having a conversation with nobody other than by himself. Andrew Bolt is neither politically correct as he doesn't share the space of mike for any dialogue nor is he Identity politics free in fact he's the embodiment of it. He finds lying, hate, incitement and abuse all appropriate and denies any responsibility for the consequences.  It's why Mordecai Bromberg said "guilty".

As a media man Bolt's more a shadow than a commentator he shadows the work of Tim Blair, Rowan Dean etc Here he's shadowing Mark Latham amplifying the idea of reverse racism of which he maintains he's a victim. There really is or never was any identity politics involved here in Australia because it's a social fact that we have always been equal.
 Andrew Bolt is only a white middle class male whose social position makes him a target of those white fellas who  think they are black and disadvantaged . They have adopted their new racism for political advantage. We are all equal says Bolt just because banks don't give them credit cards or they can't find jobs isn't Bolt's fault. After all Bolt insists he's indigenous too the only thing that differentiates us all is meritocracy and Mark Latham can prove it. Reverse Racism is nothing more than flipping the context of social and historical reality to make it meaningless. 
An aside Newscorp lost $248 million this financial year  largely due to the failure of their papers in Australia. Their mastheads here The Daily Telegraph, The Herald Sun and The Courier Mail are about to get a hair cut. If Bolt doesn't go he will be required to edit and upload his column himself. Given the amount of Butthead errors that appear in his blogs expect to see a disaster in the Herald Sun. We will most likely see the real quality of this man's work the shadow will be revealed for what he is.
