While the commission delivered its final report to parliament in December 2017 following a comprehensive five-year inquiry into abuse in institutions throughout Australia, survivors and advocates have been forced to wait for the findings relating to Pell because of legal action against him. There was concern the findings would prejudice a jury, so they were withheld. Pell was acquitted in April of child sexual abuse charges and released from jail, clearing the way for the report to be made public.

An organisation as competitive as the corporate and political worlds to make it to the top. The Catholic Church is steeped in intrigue, power games and politics at the very top echelons of society.

Ok, it might be true of George didn't know what was going on in  Sydney or some other distant Catholic jurisdictions but certainly knew everything that went on in the small diocese of Ballarat George wasn't that dumb. If he was he wouldn't have made it to the top. So back at you Bolt Oh Really!!

David Miscavige knows nothing it seems about Scientology, Brian Houston is an innocent who knew nothing about Hillsong. They were simply all good men called in for their organisational skills but have been maligned by politically motivated conspiracies. Oh Really?

What a moron Bolt is talking about "the law tribe" it's meaningless idiocy. The law, the principles of our legal system were inherited from the British legal system under which all Australians are deemed equal and supposedly stand naked before it. Does the law make mistakes yes it might, so there are appeals and appeals however, is that a general pattern or trend that is obvious that everything is appealed? No not at all and it has been revealed in the macro examination of our legal system it fares pretty well. No it hasn't not in any sense found to be biased against Catholics as opposed to agnostics or Protestants. Pell isn't the first person of high standing to be jailed.

We might suggest our Law is racist but then Bolt has always denied that his only idea of a biased tribe within our law hinges on one man and one man alone George Pell what makes him exceptional?

Staying at home is what he naturally does year in year out while psychologically stressing his family out simply because he's too uncomfortable walking the streets in which he lives. We saw how freaked his wife was when it was revealed his son James worked for the IPA. Bolt's life is a no go zone a secret but a current role model on how we all ought to live across Australia. He doesn't hesitate to tell us we ought to be more like him. 

So he wants Victoria to break away from the rest of Australia maybe Malvern from the rest of Melbourne or even his street from the rest of his suburb. Get out get back to work like he doesn't. He's certainly a "me and not a "we man. Such a "bullshitter" who tells others to stop social-distancing and get to work. But he does it from the confines of his home office.

 Herd Immunity isn't winning in Sweden nor is it performing well in the Netherlands and that's what Bolt's claiming we should be doing. His get back to work demand seems to believe COVID -19 is just a cold so what if it's x100 times more infectious? Bolt wants us to do what was done during the Spanish Flu just ignore it. However the Spanish flu came in a 2nd and 3rd wave which were far far worse than the first and killed millions. Those that died well they are expendable anyway. to a man like Bolt

Note Bolt doesn't mention the countries ready to trade with us those that have opened up, does he? What he is decrying, however, is the massive changes enacted to support Australians the cost that someone will need to pay and it just might be someone like Andrew Bolt and even more privileged.

George Pell said given the history of the Church and its denial of past accusers and complainants they now "must be believed" and their complaints must be investigated. Bolt denies that. But he's not saying 'bullshit' to Pell's demand shouldn't he be listened to? 

The police and Pell seem to be on the same page on that account. Bolt's back in the world pulling petals off a flower playing believe or don't believe like love or love me not. The police investigated more cases than just Pell. On completion of these investigations, it's the  DPP that decides whether there's a case to be heard. It's a process that eliminates the rounded conspiracy that Bolt an Pell allude to.

 What becomes clear is Andrew Bolt simply doesn't believe in the Separation of Powers or the Legal Process required to be followed. But then we have seen how he doesn't believe in science either. He seems to prefer an American style of legal system obliged to those with the greatest political power and as long as they are the ultra-conservatives ensure all judges appointed are by them as Trump has done the US Supreme Court. Trump loses case after case an appeals his way to the court were appointed the judges. In Bolt's mind, it's a system dominated by the wealthiest and most conservative in the land that will always deliver the best outcome. The IPA and the right-wing of the Liberal Party which Bolt considers "his tribe". Now that "just" and unbiased isn't it?

Minutes after Pell’s conviction was quashed by the high court, the News Corp columnist Andrew Bolt posted a blog saying the cardinal was innocent and pointing the finger at the ABC for allegedly conducting a witch-hunt to have him convicted.

One doesn't need to be a genius to note News Corp and the IPA have had a mutual self-interested agenda to rid the nation of the ABC. Bolt couldn't have a more nepotistic up-close and personal relationship with the IPA. His son James works for them Bolt did podcasts with John Roxham a regular on his Bolt Report and now father and son interchange on each other's shows. It seems "grooming" is a better-used term to describe what's occurring rather than any notion of any market place-merit.
Their strategy, pure and simple, is to rid Australia of the ABC the most trusted news service in the country and to set up a quid pro quo relationship as exists in the USA between Murdoch Media's Fox Corp and Trump's WhiteHouse where the interchange of staff is akin to a freeway. Their ambition is to demonise all other media as fake and take control of the political/economic narrative of the nation in the interests of Citizens United and other donor associated think tanks that represent only  1% of the country.
 The IPA has grown in immense influence in Australia while our unions have been reduced. They have developed pathways to parliament for their staff and like no other association this century have seen their 75 points political plan taken up as LNP policies. It may have begun with Howard, but they were accelerated with the coming of Abbott.
No Cut's to the ABC has become 1000 cuts under Abbott/Turnbull/ Morrison's LNP despite the outcry of Australians. So much so the ABC budget has been flatlined back to 1984. But that's Bolt to a tee. Did you know he sells himself as Australia's foremost expert on Climate Change too? However, he doesn't seem to understand the meaning of global, a world without borders and Australia's responsibility to that. The LNP certainly has a history going to war and making young men die for no reason. Bolt is doing much the same declaring the pandemic over and the cure worse than the illness happily allowing people to die before their time and simply writing it off as collateral damage.

No, he's not the High Court merely overturned the jury's decision on a TECHNICALITY. Nowhere was he pronounced innocent except in the hollows of Bolt's mind.  However, Pell was charged, and a jury was compelled to make a decision based on the evidence before them, and Pell was deemed and pronounced GUILTY. The appeal and High Court then attended to the technicalities of that decision. 

GEORGE PELL IS INNOCENT. HERE'S WHY THE HIGH COURT CLEARED HIM - AND NOT ON A "TECHNICALITY"

George Pell is innocent, and shame on the police, courts and media who trashed and persecuted him, and sent him to jail. What a sinister witch hunt. Well, Conservative Bolt pays no respect to our legal system our laws or the due process required to execute them. A process intended to make us all equal under the sun. To find an error in that process was made isn't a statement of innocence. Bolt's never been shy of telling us others were guilty when they got off due to a technicality. The one thing you won't find Bolt doing is standing nose to nose arguing the finer points of law with a QC. The few times he has been witnessed trying he's melted into silence. Why is that so?

The ABC was only a part of the media in Australia reporting on Pell's circumstances but reporting all sides not just one. It's the "all sides" that has Henderson saying that the public shouldn't have been party to this news. Which is self evidently biased on his part.

Bolt up to this point hasn't said anything in the way of information other than cheering Henderson on. The point to be made is here are two men, neither lawyers brushing over as fast as possible the technicalities of the law on which the decision was made to act like fishwives yelling over a fence at those in the media they disagree with but primarily to push the barrow for privatised news.

Understanding Government Spending In Australia- The Shovel

There’s been a bit of confusion lately about the difference between a government surplus and a government deficit, and how that relates to good economic management in Australia. This simple economics lesson from The Shovel explains how it works.


Good Economic Management (green section): Literally the only thing that matters when managing an economy is achieving a surplus. Nothing else is relevant. The Coalition has delivered a surplus every single year it has been in office in recent times, except 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Small Deficit (yellow section): This occurs when government spending is more than government revenue. This only occurs due to Labor being in Government or Opposition.

Debt and Deficit Disaster (red section): This is when spending is a lot more than income. It occurs when a Labor government is in office during a global economic crisis and is trying to avoid a recession. It is horrifically bad.

Good Economic Management (blue section): This is when government spending is immensely more than government income. It occurs when a Coalition government is in office during a global economic crises and is trying to avoid a recession. It’s basically the same as a surplus, except for the bit about spending being more than revenue. It is sound economic management.

I agree with Kissinger that the post-Covid world order will be significantly different from the world that preceded it, but that’s as far as I’ll go. In truth, the US-dominated system is unraveling because the people of the world don’t want to ruled by force, because US leaders are incompetent bunglers who cannot be trusted to do the right thing, and because Washington’s arrogant go-it-alone policy-making has turned vast areas of the Middle East and Central Asia into uninhabitable wastelands.
Let’s face it, the United States had a chance to show the world it could be a reliable steward of global security, and they blew it. Nothing Kissinger says is going to change that.

Murdoch Media would love to see Australian Chinese relations buckle. They have been Australia's major media Sinophobes for decades. They originally put the wind in Pauline Hanson's sails. The fact is Chinese Australians are being abused because of these Xenophobic racists. Moselmane ought to be congratulated and Sam Dastyari brought back. (ODT)

Mainland China reported 39 new coronavirus cases as of Sunday, up from 30 a day earlier, and the number of asymptomatic cases also surged, as Beijing continued to struggle to extinguish the outbreak despite drastic containment efforts.The National Health Commission said in a statement on Monday that 78 new asymptomatic cases had been identified as of the end of the day on Sunday, compared with 47 the day before.

There is no doubt Sinophobes will treat this as some dastardly Chinese conspiracy as well. Western universal condemnation and politicizing of China seems to be based on their failures of economic management and the inability of privatised systems to rapidly manage crises global or domestic crises as they unfold. Andrew Bolt can't push hard enough, can he? Fox News is being sued in America Andrew Bolt doesn't even mention the fact. Sued yes, in a country where the First Amendment vigorously protects the press as long as they aren't Julian Assange. Fox News is being sued for Journalistic irresponsibility in the face of this pandemic and the spreading of misinformation much the same as Andrew Bolt has been doing as their shadow here.

 He continues his daily misdirections none of which are original but merely a copy of Fox suggesting we should now sue China but needless to say not him or News Corp. Bolt like Fox has these past weeks been laughing at Australian efforts to stop the virus. Despite the fact they have seemingly been successful. He's calling them an unnecessary overreach for not doing what Sweden and Holland have been in their efforts to ensure their economy stayed essentially unharmed. One might say more of a herd immunity model rather than a total lockdown. What Bolt doesn't however mention is that they are failing. Even China's stringent lockdown once deemed the most successful haven't found a 100% success rate. But Bolt the self-isolating Murdochian Sinophobe knows best.

Bolt keeps telling us it's safe to go back to work with however qualifications that sound much like the failing Sweeden. Qualifications however that can't be met in Australia and actions that are currently against the law and an irresponsible danger to the Australian population. We are geographically different logistically different in size and technological capacity to even begin to do what Bolt suggests. Yet he repeatedly and publicly prints fake news that pursues a course of action that's a danger and no help to our safety.

 It's propaganda simply to protect the interests of an economic system that serves the interests of only 1% of Australians represented by the IPA.  Interests who believe the LNP's current reckless drift to Socialism is endangering their economy and revealing its weaknesses far, far too much (ODT)

  The High Court has unanimously quashed Cardinal George Pell's conviction for raping two boys. Here is what I've just said on Sky: the jailing of Pell was a massive miscarriage of justice. Shame on all who participated in this witch hunt. This High Court decision also shames the Victoria Police, the Victorian Court of Appeal and the ABC.

He was not declared innocent nor was there a miscarriage of justice declared. Bolt's not telling but stretching the facts to boost himself really.

Not at all how else is one to be judged, by reputation alone? Due process is something the church certainly doesn't do. Due process is something elitist Bolt has no respect for. Opinion rules his day and over the decades that have been blinkered, aloof and rock-solid never really critical of who he considers his tribe.

Due process was done and serves to give pride to our justice systems attempts to treat us as all naked under the sun. Andrew Bolt certainly doesn't he only pays lip service to equality that doesn't exist.
Let's see if the Vatican and the Church treat him as exonerated shall we? (ODT)
