It's all just "culture wars" as far as Morrison is concerned there aren't any real material facts. 

Morrison is simply scared of losing any more LNP moderates while not ruffling the nutters in Joyce's Right-Wing National Party. He needs them all to stay inside his camp to maintain a majority government. Particularly the moderates for having moved so far right to appease the absolute extremists in the Coalition. He was prepared to kick a silent antivaxxer Djokovic out of the country but he keeps the loud George Christensen, Canavan, and others in his Party Room close. Morrison brags about one and stays shtum or whispers on the others. Yet, he is, or was happier to see the real Liberals like Banks, O'Dwyer, Bishop leave. 

Morrison is no fan of public service and leaves servicing the public up to private enterprise as reward to his donors. He shuns the ABC in favor of Peter Costello's 2GB and Murdoch's Sky. His CV shows he doesn't hold the hose and never has preferring others to do the work while he networks. That way hes Teflon and nothing has ever been his fault even when the shit hits the fan. Hot News is according to McCluhan the critical and rational analysis of facts, comparative statistics, actions in context, and history that test or are a yardstick to what Morrison says the government is doing. When applied Real News is the enemy of the Morrison Government who can fool the electorate some of the time but not all of it as Morrison constantly does.

In among a string of election campaign failures, Morrison had a regular habit of leaving or being pushed out of jobs before his contracts were finished.There were two stints that have, perhaps understandably, been scrubbed from his Wikipedia page.

The first was a period at big four consulting group KPMG in 2000, where he was attempting to start up a tourism practice.

The second was an ill-fated turn as the strategic director for the campaign of New South Wales Liberal leader Peter Debnam during his failed 2007 election bid.A self-styled “marketer” (he actually has a Bachelor of Science in applied economic geography from UNSW) Morrison instead hired others to do the marketing work, according to a number of people that worked with him in his various tourism jobs, while he focused largely on the networking.

This networking brought him into contact with Liberal grandees who promoted him ever higher, until he landed in — or rather was parachuted into — federal parliament in 2007.

Health Minister Greg Hunt has accused businesses of lying about desperately needed supplies of rapid COVID tests being seized by the federal government. There have been multiple claims from Australian businesses that they have been told by wholesalers that orders of rapid tests for workplaces have been diverted to fulfil government orders. On Wednesday, the South Australian government also said it had asked regulators to investigate reports of its RATs had been improperly diverted to other states. But in Canberra on Thursday Mr Hunt emphatically denied suppliers’ claims that orders of the scarce tests were being requisitioned by the government. “They are lying. That is why I am reporting them to the ACCC,” he said.

Whilst Labor’s policies are preferable to the Coalition’s, they fall far short of what must be done. We cannot afford the timidity shown by the two major parties who bow to pressure from vested interests and are paralysed by fear of reprisal from their colleagues as much as from the electorate. Nor can we afford the denial from Barnaby’s mob and the Pauline and Clive cults. When Labor form government, the necessity for action will only be greater and the voices demanding it even louder. I hope they are ready.

I literally did the “Please listen to our podcast, let’s beat Bolt” post YESTERDAY, and you guys *came through*, and then some! (When I did the post, I was like “if we keep getting the word out, maybe we’ll edge him out in 4-6 months”!!).

"Virus Disaster" is an inflammatory bigoted and as racist as one can get. It defines Andrew Bolt to a tee. The short term pain for long term gain has been proved to be a greater success globally and it shows even now in Australia and Victoria yes Victoria as well.

 Bolt hasn't shown that of those of cultures not to his taste are not the victims of the social system but  are as he suggests the spreaders of the virus. Even if they are it's because they live in the world of precarious work in which to survive. There are Afghanis across Australia untouched by Covid but Bolt prefers to scapegoat victims as if they are to blame. When they are immigrants that he dislikes and demands a wall to be built to exclude from being allowed into Australia. Afghani's helped pioneer this country as have Chinese and Indigenous Australians have spent over 200 years advising us just how we have been fucking it up. What has Bolt done but like Trump divide us? 

Let's remind Bolt the world's most successful nations in handling this pandemic are those where Public Health is a priority and dominates the user pays private services that's where " social inclusivity" is the nations primary government policy.

Chief Medical Officer apologised for his "inadvertant mention of Afghanistan. No such inadvertant accusations by Andrew Bolt. You won't here any apology coming from him.

Wow while Europe is panicking Andrew Bolt is trying to sell us the fake tale that it's not. London is moving back to strict bans as is France. COVID deaths begin to rise only after a lag time and yes the EU is concerned. 

Scrotum faced McCrann and he are back crying "wolf ". One thing is for sure life won't be returning to what it was any time soon. The systems we put in place and have been living with need to change. We certainly need better Public not for profit Services given that the private ones have failed us badly. They certainly haven't reduced costs saved from any long term emergencies because they only focus on short term profit. Our Social Welfare departments have been shrunk or outsourced and are now being scapegoated for failing us. Of course, they have and through no fault of Dan Andrews.

 Politics needs to refocus on public service and accept the fact that loss is part of democracy while the opposition and government are there to compromise and take us forward. Progress rather than waste our money and time.   One need only ask why do these chicken little criers of doom need to act as a Murdoch tag team.? where is the reasoned debate? 

Were Australians better off before Abbott's LNP came to office?  We were the worlds 2nd best economy. Where are we on that list today? Was Victoria better off when the last LNP government was in power than we are now? Would Matthew Guy and now O'Brien ensure we were? They certainly wouldn't have made Victoria the best economically managed State in the country. We were the State that was propping up Morrison and Frydenberg who were in recession. All these questions are accompanied with a solid answer no!  COVID has simply provided yet again the blame game in an attempt to go back to a short term future that will continue to put us back on the path to loss we were on since 2013.

Dan Andrews was advised by the Police Commissioner that Private Security was the best option so he takes the blame for taking their advice and chooses companies that had been rubber-stamped by the Commonwealth. However, we and he operate in a privatized system that was never capable of dealing with a pandemic. That's patently obvious when one compares the best and worst outcomes among 200 nations. The USA and UK are hardly examples to follow. China Vietnam, NZ,  Cuba Norway Denmark have done far better jobs with far fewer deaths. Massachusetts has the same pop as Victoria had 125,000 cases and 9000 deaths. Instead, here we are knit picking on which individual is at fault rather than which system can deliver the better outcome.

This is exactly why Bolt's focus is out of wack. He's counting trees individual acts to explain why our system can't cope with either a pandemic or climate change.  The Police Commissioner said he was against the ADF and the Police acting as Security for quarantine tourists or Australians returning home. It doesn't matter that error doesn't even begin to explain the broken system with which Andrews had to fight the pandemic. Yes NSW had it's  crisis and learnt we are having ours and are too. However, the lesson isn't scapegoating an individual who was in charge of a system that had been broken over a very long period of time.

It comes into relief when comparing the nations of the world and it's patently clear the USA and the UK which we try to replicate are the worst and China can't be blamed when it's one of the best.

FIRST NATIONS HABITATS BEFORE INVASION

First Nations people from the hundreds of different nations managed their lands, food, water and habitats to meet their needs - working with their environment to maintain health, comfort and sustainability.

Researchers in recent years, including Bruce Pascoe, have described how many First Nations nations/tribes lived in villages or towns, while many others lived in villages seasonally.

Once the surviving peoples from the massacres were displaced from 'country' by European colonists, many were forced into exclusively hunting and gathering, therefore building shelters that served the purpose of this transient lifestyle. This was not completely foreign to them because most tribes often travelled around their lands seasonally, and through other tribes lands for regional gatherings.

In reference to the bottom image represented here we provide some observations made by a land party from the Vlamingh Expedition in Western Australia before it was settled by Europeans, he reported to see five huts close together at Wittecarra Creek, near to the mouth of the Murchison River. One of these huts was described as being "made of clay with a roof sloping down on two sides."

In 1803 another report of Aboriginal people living in a larger permanent settlement derived from the Baudin expedition, where they encountered a settlement on the tip of Peron Peninsula, Shark Bay, Western Australia on 18 March 1803.

Three members of the Expedition mention this assemblage of huts, Baudin, Peron and Freycinet, and the ship's artist Petit was ordered to make a drawing. According to Baudin, "Twelve or fifteen huts, much better made, than those we have found hitherto, composed the village where this small tribe lived ... ones that belong to the heads of families ... were much bigger and were built with considerably more symmetry."

Peron's description was, "these huts of the Land of Eendracht [central west coast of WA] ... are in the form of a hemisphere slightly depressed at the top ...... Their height is from 12 to 16 decimetres [1.2 – 1.6 m], by a diameter of 20 to 25 decimetres [2.0 – 2.5 m]. They are composed of small trees implanted in the soil ... On the outside are attached layers of foliage and clumps of grass covered by a large quantity of soil."

Australia's recession is the deepest since the Great Depression of the early 1930s. Nothing else comes close.

The economy shrank an extraordinary 7 per cent in the three months to June — by far the biggest collapse since the Bureau of Statistics began compiling records in 1959.

The previous worst quarterly outcome was minus 2 per cent, in June 1974.

Did Josh Frydenberg and the LNP save us?

1) GDP growth in the first quarter was -0.3%pre Covid poor. On the way down to a second-quarter and recession. Frydenberg says it was Strong . We only have his word for it.

2) Government support saved the day. The Government has "promised a $40 bill package to help industries that missed out but has only delivered $2bill of that bucket of promises. Meanwhile they are about to reduce Job Seeker at the end of the month by $300 and Job Keeper in the New Year

3) Spending has collapsed but savings escalated which shows they have done sweet FA for the economy
4) China remains unmentioned

What Frydenberg doesn't mention is China because it wasn't the LNP that saved us from sinking further into the quicksand of recession. Frydenbergs been giving the Government credit while scapegoating Dan Andrews and Victoria for Morrison's and his do-nothing actions and Gunna promises. Without Victoria's better relationship with China the nation would be worse off. Couple that with the Commonwealth's failure to regulate the privatised aged-care system Dan Andrews the only thing saving Frydenberg's arse.
The Belt and Road Agreement is the equivalent of CHAFTA which they cheered and hollered about and stole from the ALP in 2015 declaring themselves heroes if you remember. Andrews has done more to prevent China from sinking the LNP ship whenever they want.  The warnings have been fired across Morrison's bow with the reduction of Barley Beef and Wine sales. Only  Dan Andrews diplomacy and good relations saved us from greater impact. Yes, we will see recovery but not because anything Morrison and Frydenberg have done. In Kowtowing to the wannabe Dictator now President of the USA whose using China for his own political effort to stay in power they have fucked our relationship with the CPA. However, what can you expect with always the ever obedient follower and never the leader Morrison at the helm?
One needn't look far back when the LNP were fully behind China's Belt Road Project and not telling the USA what it was about Liberal Andrew Robb took $880k China job as soon as he left ...

Tony Abbott attacks Andrews in call for end to restrictions

The former PM took a swipe over stage four restrictions, saying the Premier was conducting a health dictatorship.

Of course, god will take care of the rest. Individual decisions weren't given to HIV sufferers. We have hospitals isolating people with infectious diseases but Abbott is quite happy to allow super spreaders the freedom to share.

" Abbott said it was not clear that draconian measures were effective in health terms and were destroying the economy and people's wellbeing under one-size-fits-all orders from "unaccountable experts".

It's as if China hasn't proved to the world the most effective means of stopping the spread of the virus and turning the economy around at the same time. It's up 3-5%. Sweden certainly hasn't demonstrated that at -7% and 6000 deaths. Which is a greater fall to their economy than either Norway or Denmark with only 600 and 250 deaths. 

How is it these people with big mouths freely advocate opinions without a grip on the facts? Was Abbott given voice by Murdoch media? We should drop the bans because "I Tony Abbott don't know and it seems a better political option" is hardly a rational risk for the common good of the wider community. Besides, the polls indicate they don't support Abbott at all who prefers to remain in opposition from a distance.

The reality is that the workforce is more productive than Abbott lets on. That NSW hasn't won anything to date and Victoria's problem was one foisted on it by an LNP government that failed to regulate or fund a but prefered a self-regulated aged-care system. The virus the deaths and the spread didn't occur in state-managed centres. So comparatively Andrews ran a better operation than Abbott's Government did and is still doing so.

Appearing later before the Commons' Foreign Affairs Committee, Stewart McDonald, an MP with the Scottish National Party questioned Mr Abbott about his use of the phrase "health dictatorship", a term also used by the QAnon, far-right online conspiracy group.

Mr Abbott said he was not aware of QAnon and used the reference to describe the "very draconian restrictions" imposed in Victoria.

After trending downward for six weeks, the US caseload has been growing again for more than a week, particularly in the south and west of the country.

Those services Australians like himself aren't employed in but the ones in which migrants work and he can't do without. Factories Transport Hospitals Hotels services where the chance of picking up the virus is the greatest.

Today he's flipped COVID is a danger and multiculturalism feeds its spread. He's reframed his position but by taking on Trump's argument and blaming the surge on immigrants he's backed himself into a corner. Demanding them to go back to work nothing to worry about but immigrants spreading the trivial COVID virus. If there was an IQ test to get into the country Andrew Bolt would never pass.  Bolt's whine about immigrants fits his bigoted value system yes but fails to explain how these essential services he demands would be manned? As white men of his calibre refuse to consider doing the jobs they do?

 However more's the pity Bolt's neighbours in Malvern have to put up with this totally un-Australian and bigoted attitudes as they too are 50% immigrants and totally un- ego-centric like Bolt. We have often witnessed Bolt's Misogyny Ageism and Feminism all qualities he denies but readily accuses Muslims of but never Jews particularly Fromers better known as Orthodox Jews. But then Bolt attacked Australia's once leading Imam for saying women should be more modest and not present themselves like meat in public. Outraged was Bolt who then also said he'd stop his daughter leaving the house inappropriately dressed. 

Bolt says he's agnostic a Doubting Thomas but he's not Socially or Culturally. He's Fromer belongs to a sect and certainly is blinkered by social upbringing and the belief in an "elect" and a hierarchy. It has slipped out often enough.
