There's no problem with Bolt logic or is there? If your Black, Muslim, Aboriginal you are in all probability dangerous and those trying to defend you are hampering in due process. However, if you are White middle class and a prat like Bolt your profile deserves the full benefit of the law, the presumption of innocence by all institutions AHRC, the DPP, the Courts systems and justice should reflect and respect that power hierarchy which is the natural order of things. However Trump lost the election by 3 million votes and only won in the Electoral College indicating along with Trump that the vote wasn't all that "free". So to say as Bolt does that the "the left" are against "free speech" is to suggest would assume "silence". But silence is what Bolt wants which is wrong!!
Blind to the fact that citizens are exercising their right to "free speech".The very existence of media in a Democracy ought to support that "freedom". However currently some 10 journalists have been arrested and are facing 10 -15 years imprisonment for doing their jobs. He claims Malcolm Turnbull tricked Trump into firstly agreeing to uphold his agreement about Manus and the Nauruan refugee exchange. 1 Bolt and Turnbull's phone call wasn't in total isolation. 2 Trumps staffers were a party to that phone call. 3 Trumps press secretary Sean Spicer announced that the deal would be upheld. 4 Two hours later the state department rang to say Trump didn't agree he was still thinking about it. 5 The Washington Post journalist was interviewed live on the ABC and was quite clear that that Trump had indicated it was a confirmed deal based on the fact that the vetting process was to be adhered to. 6 Since then Trump has been advised his image may be compromised and it appears in true Trump style he's backing off.

That's all that's really reflected here. Malcom Turnbull and/ or his wife are citizens their donation allowable. Yes it's indicative of the fact that the wealthy can and do donate larger sums if they so wish to Parties. Turnbull isn't News Corp . He's not an Industry Association the only issue here is transparency and the rules that allow or don't allow how donations are made. Is Bolt arguing for a change in rules it doesn't strike me that he is. Are the Conservatives arguing for a change I can't hear them. I do however hear Bill Shorten demanding the rules be changed. It seems Bolt would have preferred Shorten to have won the election but then we have known that because he's been attacking Turnbull harder. Imagine yesterday Trump didn't change his mind on the refugee exchange he was waiting for Turnbull to sign the blank cheque. The immorality of changing the date of Australia Day is accepting the principle that to invade the territory of other peoples is moral. Indonesia no doubt had every right to take Timor but we as a nation intervened immorally. West Papuans have no right of Independence from Indonesia and on it goes Bolt no acting on principle at all other than "might is right". The historic fact is Invasion Day occurred and it wasn't Australia Day which was Federation. Should we call Australia Day British Liberation Day. Surely fairness is reflected in acknowledging what actually occurred which was white man's ignorance and that correcting that is what unites us.
