Remember when Bolt insisted fewer people died from heat than they do cold that warming was good. Well, Lomborg pushes that old cherry as well. However, a very substantial new study of over 2million deaths has shown the opposite to be the fact, and Andrew Bolt is fully aware of it. The bigger question then is why does he ignore it? Why does he intentionally fail to report it?
Now that's more the behaviour of a religious zealot a denialist not at all interested in the science. So Bolt is flipped back where he was 15 years ago saying the earth's cooling. Roy Spencer was his high priest back then now it's Bjorn Lomborg at least Spencer was a scientist of sorts whose figures were wrong. Here's why you should be worried about the ABC raids

It's the least demanding, most invincible justification in our public life. And that's possibly why the federal police used it – without elaboration – to defend its raid on News Corp's Annika Smethurst. Smethurst had published a story revealing a plan for the Australian Signals Directorate to spy on Australian citizens directly by hacking into critical infrastructure without a warrant.

The story was strongly denied at the time. Now it is the basis of a raid. We're simply not told how it compromises our national security to learn of such things. The same might be said of the ABC story that triggered the other raid, which revealed how Australian special forces in Afghanistan allegedly killed civilians and covered it up.

We're conditioned to reject the notion that police might sometimes use their powers for political ends.

 News Corp was having none of it, attacking the raid as a "dangerous act of intimidation" that expressed "the willingness of governments to undermine the Australian public's right to know". And given that these stories were more than a year old, and that the raids were timed in the immediate aftermath of an election when the price of any scandal is likely to be minimised, that might be true. But it's bound to ring hollow because it implies that sometimes police use their powers for political ends, rather than legitimate policing ones. And that's an idea we've been trained to reject instinctively.

In raiding the ABC and a News journalists, they are complying with standard practice – hounding sources of information that embarrass the conservative Government, intimidating potential whistle-blowers and keeping the L/NP free from scrutiny.

Dutton, ex-copper from Queensland, is resurrecting the Bjelke-Petersen-era police state cheered on by the Party nutters who’ve slipped through the crazy filter. A compliant and complicit mainstream media has gotten a loud wake-up call. Will they respond or will they hit the snooze button? Will a complacent public shrug this off?  In Bolt's lengthy defence no mention is made of the specific study he claims is accurate and that support what he has said until now. To say he has never been a denialist is a load of crap. Bolt has been silent this year only because he can no longer say 14 consecutive months of warming and broken records isn't a sign of a trend. Bolt  however has never dealt in trends and he tends to spend his energies trying as he does all his arguments to look for exceptions in order to disprove what he claims to be false rules put forward by climate scientists. 

That's his very problem like medicine climate science works not on hard and fast rules but probabilities and trends. Bolt like a spruiker for the tobacco industry who argues that there is no proof of a causal connection  between smoking and cancer. Bolt argues that there is no evidence for a causal connection man's activities and global warming or even that the planet has been warming. To say anything else is just side stepping the issue. Bolt constantly turned to Spencer's graph to make his point and he has shut up this year.

Irony what irony Andrew Bolt? Bolt turns away from Devine's complaint and becomes her English teacher instead. What a toe rag misogynist saying your not my equal he who just yesterday spelt "robbing" "ronning" and the day before declaring Tuesday to be Thursday. Bolt is the last person to criticize Devine's skills. 

Bolt doesn't write and publicize his show? Two days before he promised a scoop "tune in" has been his mantra for his forthcoming "I'm so excited moment" foor a month. He bragged no drooled.

 To dodge the criticism of delusional, Bolt doesn't even begin to respond to Devine's accusations about revenge for Tony. He ducks the issue altogether "what me" is Bolt's dodge claiming he's merely reporting Turnbull's errors no subtext  intended or included.

Bolt is a poor performer on TV his ratings on Ch10 clearly showed that. A review is no abuse even if taken personally but he's bad and needs to be self conscious of it. He won't be a better one on SKY as Latham and Jones clearly amplify his paucity of talent. Bolt is a marionette with a tin ear,  unnatural and even when his guests disagree with him he just quickly moves on. He offers any listener with an IQ nothing hanging in moments of uncertainty to his notes like a lifeline. The man needs Miranda Devine whoes spontaneous, laughs listens and has natural talent. When she says "she knows Andrew " we all do  except most of us don't forgive him for what he is unlike Devine.  Bears do it with a slap Bolt but you, you get your  knickers in a knot.

 However what are these mythical Western values  Australian values Bolt alludes to ? They are never specified only define in terms of Race, Religion and Culture it seems. Well how specific is that? However  race isn't a value other than to the likes of Bolt and Blair. So is it Christian values they are referring to? Bolt's an agnostic and claims to be rationalist so it can't be values based on faith alone but reason. Oh scientific values that actually had their origin in the Middle East so no it can't be those either. These guys have their anuses so jammed up against the Western wall they have no answers because everything is East of them and dangerous. 

 

 

 

Turnbull puts national security behind political security

 

Doesn't Bolt only state the obvious that politicians are politicians? After all what did Sophie Mirabella say about Indi and the $10 mill that hospitals missed out on for not electing her? Oh the health of the nation isn't important. Bolt defended her Poor Sophie. As for Adelaide no mention of Warren Mundine's arguments about the national interest in retaining ship building skills in this country particularly skills relevant to defense. We could have got an even cheaper deal from China but they weren't invited to tender. Bolt doesn't even begin to weigh up of which at this time is the most important investment the Economy or Security. Abbott gave us an over expensive and obsolete NBN placing us from 30th to 60th on the worlds efficient communications ladder. Guess communications has nothing to do with National Security either.

Bolt's in his stupidity forgets just how much Abbott used money to influence politics and electorates. The withdrawal of 3 billion funding from Victoria if the electorate didn't vote Liberal and the the East Link didn't go ahead. Tollways and main arterial roads are also a part of our National Security and need to be carefully chosen not just plonked where they are not needed just be a political ping pong ball as Abbott & Vic Liberals turned it into.

Does anybody for one minute think Bolt is talking up  National Security for all our interest not at all he's only talking up the interests of the extreme  conservatives who are simply trying to have the tail wag the dog.

Labor puts volunteers under control of a hard-Left union

 

The amount of destruction fires cause this country let alone this state annually dictates that the days of voluteer firefighters be replaced by professionals. Given the number of fires started by  CFA members dictates professionals need be in control. Maybe Bolt thinks we ought to have volunteer services returned to the country.  Wherever there are currently services with any union content such as police, nurses, ambulances etc. The return of dads army and the boy scouts.

 What is strange he hasn't mentioned privatizing all services that's generally his want not  creating or retaining volunteers they destroy the free market as well.

 

 

Why didn't it make the front page news that the Federal Government paid for new airline tickets for a young Melbourne couple travelling to Malaysia on holiday? Why was the husband  removed from the flight and questioned for five hours before being released? Is this too going to be a matter of secrecy 'an on land matter'? Or is this mornings report in The Age Fantasy?It does highlight a number of issues but mainly our Intelligence.
Thousands of Australian Muslims will be going on annual pilgrimage to Mecca next month. Thousands how will security deal with this without looking like  unintelligent fools. Double pay  all their airline tickets or just pick some at random? If anybody is caught carrying a newspaper  reporting  Middle East news will they be stopped even worse if the paper is in Arabic a language border patrol can't read.
Intelligence doesn't have enough room  or personnel to hold the 1000's of Australian Muslim suspects even 100 would be difficult. Intelligence could ferry them to  detention centres or Team Australia recruiting offices. After all it's what we did with German and Japanese Australians during WW2. However we don't have the Intelligence to question these would be travelers as they aren't sufficiently qualified.
Scott Morrison assured radio listeners that those with legitimate reasons for travelling should not be concerned. Well going on holiday to Malaysia it seems an  insufficient reason in one case. Maybe the young man looked a little pissed at the untrained official asking and that's why he was questioned for 5 hours.

Five people have been stopped recently and prevented from leaving the country. Do we know on what grounds of course not. If I was leaving Australia and had reports about ISIS on my ipad in order to get a better understanding of what was going on would I be stopped and questioned as a christian? Instead of hassling Australian citizens wouldn't ASIO, Border Protection make better use of their Intelligence gathering for National Security   by taking in for questioning the  Andrew Bolts of this world who are stirring up a hornets nest of ethnic and religious hatred. for political gain.
