The fact that Bolt fails to mention in his onside list unlike him Brennon, Howard Abbott and others still maintain their faith in our justice system. It's not clear just how many stand with Andrew Bolt who apparently doesn't have that faith. Given that news corp pulled all the advertisers off Bolt's show and there wasn't a scream heard by any of them for staying it appears Bolt is an outlier but not a hero. Win or lose our justice system will remain intact but can the same be said of Andrew Bolt. One need's to remember Don Quixote suffered dementia.
Bolt doesn't mention those he imagines stand behind him are also very much part of the SS Newscorp, Quadrant which hardly indicates they are an objective crew does it. KENNETT: LEADERSHIP CRISIS, DISASTER LOOMS

  The privatized energy sector has been a disaster the gas we have has been sold and now the Liberals are calling for the state control of the gas supply. I greatly respect Bachar Houli, but this is a poor look: "A character reference from Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and media advocate Waleed Aly persuaded the AFL tribunal that Bachar Houli was of such character that they halved his penalty for knocking out Carlton's Jed Lamb."

When Bolt was found guilty of vilification and was due to be sentenced he had the full force of News Corp behind him both financially and as a character reference as well no doubt. Waleed Aly is a member of the Richmond football club and entitled to stand up for Houli, so is Andrew Bolt it's noted that Bolt wasn't asked to provide any reference for Houli and it's clear that if asked he wouldn't have. However last year he was praising him as if he were a pet dog and telling us Houli was an exception among Muslims a well bred one a reference it wasn't because it came from Bolt. It may as well have come from Pauline or the leader of the UPF.

Now given Houli wasn't facing the judiciary but the AFL tribunal and given Turnbull knows what Houli does for the community outside of football Bolt seems extremely petty and small minded ,just point scoring knowing full well he doesn't pass the character test of most Australians. Respect is raised for those that don't stand up for him, not those that do and what a minority they are.

PYNE WAS "ALWAYS" FOR THE GAY MARRIAGE HE OPPOSED

How trustworthy is Christopher Pyne? Here is Pyne on Monday: "I’m in favor of marriage equality, I always have been." Here is Pyne in 2015: "I think that same-sex couples who are in that situation should be in a position to have some legal basis for their relationship and that’s why I’ve changed my view about (marriage equality)."

 Conflating such two disconnected issues. One same-sex marriage a human rights issue against who at this point in time should be our team leader. A tactical issue in the game of politics. With a third issue if and when a change is forced who would you prefer as leader a question of conscience. None of these have anything to do with "loyalty" after all Pyne wasn't married to Abbott or in any other way connected other than they were both members of a "broad church" Pyne fought tooth and nail to get Abbott elected and it's good to note he wasn't just his lap dog.

ABBOTT VS TURNBULL: THE FIGHT FOR VALUES

My editorial on The Bolt Report - Malcolm Turnbull struggles to tidy up the mess caused by Christopher Pyne, but his leadership slides deeper into the mud. Then up jumps Tony Abbott to explain exactly how the Liberals could win.

As I said  and have been saying time has been running out and News Corp was about to drag  Tony Abbott out from the slime of his past and Andrew Bolt is about to tell us he's a changed and renewed man. He's repentant and time has come again to be winners and Caesar Tony needs to be shouldered once again. Thproblem is Abbott hasn't changed. Bolt Hasn't changed and more to the point Rupert Murdoch the USA and UK booster hasn't changed. In other words Australia has stood still because Abbott was gone and we stopped going backwards. We stood still for some time until Turnbull won the election in the meantime the Conservatives in the media didn't. It's been a serial howl and whine ever scince. However we have begun to progress. We know the NBN is a fuck up, We Know the debt  ceiling created by Abbott has been blown, We know the Abbott's cuts to Education has now placed us 39th in the world of 40 OECD counties, We know Abbott banned and tried to cut funds to and information from the ABC,  He ravaged Science in AustraliaHe savaged the unions and encouraged the casualisation of Labor He deregulated business controls and criminalized the opportunities of corporations while removing the privacy we once had. We had a paranoid Captain secluded in his own PMO because he was a reflection of what he was and believed every body was the same as he was.

What a relief when Turnbull turned up not a success but a relief and that's the begginning of opportunity ignored. But despite Abbott telling us he was only a loyal backbencher representing Warringa he was nothing but another Rudd. No he was even more he was the tail trying to wag the dog. Rudd was carried on the electorates shoulders. Abbott never will be because he 's always been seen as the snake. Destroy the Liberals he will. Bernardi realised and that the was a liar without ethics. Pauline Hanson was thrown in jail by a determined Abbott wanting her votes. He publicly kissed her and said sorry he'd changed. Andrew Bolt used to echo that promise until he's repeated it so often he stopped and spent a 3month silence on Tony until he was voted out democratically by his own party. Fuck who'd have tought it Rupert's man in the top job was dumped. What we see know is not Bolt's inner knowledge of what Abbott was about to do but what Murdoch had told his organization what they had to do. Yes and Abbott the marionette has always maintained his readiness.

This isn't a fight for values this is a dirty battle for power within a team that for the moment hasn't any value for values because Abbott's greed has always been Satan among their midst. Bob Santa Maria is laughing.

 

PYNE'S BOAST: THE PLAN REVEALED

Christopher Pyne bragged to his Left-wing faction that we might get same-sex marriage "sooner than everyone thinks". Sure enough: "Two Liberal MPs have been secretly working on a plan to legalise same-sex marriage in Australia as soon as August, with a draft copy of the laws well advanced." Never mind that this breaks an election promise.

Bolt it seems is forced to read the opposition papers to get the news of the day that a Private Members Bill was to be put forward. What an embarrassment for Bolt he and Abbott had tried to make out it was a double cross by Turnbull. Well, let's call that for what it is WRONG!!

The Liberal Party is a Broad Church or is it an extremely narrow one as Abbott and Bolt would have that the TEAM is everything and screw Individual Conscience, Screw Principles, and Screw your Electorate. For heaven sake, politicians aren't representatives they are front runners the electorate has chosen to follow like sheep. Well, Bolt what can I say but WRONG again.

When Ipsos says the gap between parties is 4 points it's almost guaranteed Newspoll is reporting 6. Hello, we are more than 18 months out from an election since when have the parties shown all their cards.

What Andrew Bolt is really doing is covering for Abbott's bullshit on 2GB yesterday when the pre-election "No Cuts" Abbott declared it a fundamental breach of faith to break a pre-election commitment. When Abbott new Pyne was a Turnbull man but was required to reward him for the singular effort Pyne did to help Abbott become PM. You see Bolt believes if you ever worked for Labor and then said you were a conservative you could never ever be trusted again. Well, folks lets remind ourselves that that's exactly what Bolt did. Bolt with his own words has hung himself on his own petard and I believe him in this case.

    Is same-sex marriage actually good policy? According to the people for whom Conservatives like any other politician works  the polls to which Bolt is so attentive say a resounding YES

    Is breaking an election promise good policy? The question is irrelevant Turnbull isn't breaking a promise it's a Private Bill

    Is risking a split in the party a good policy? Yes because the disloyalty is that the tail is trying to wag the dog and the tail needs to be docked

    Is denying the public a vote on such a big issue good policy? The question is insane the Polls say Yes and the Public are represented by their Members

    Is copying Labor a good policy? It's not a Labor Policy it's Human Rights Issue. What a stupid question

    Is devoting so much time and energy on this issue good policy? No, it should have been put to a conscience vote long ago. Why is Australia such a global backwater when it comes to Human Rights?

    Will this actually help the Government win the next election?Absolutely not.  However, it's why the Conservatives have picked the wrong battle and the moderates will be rewarded either way on this issue. One should as how this is an issue at all? We are reminded of Mr. Nope Nope Nope  Tony Abbott. Hardly a positive memory for someone who wants to come back. Will we here Bolt's mantra "but he's changed really changed"?

COAL UP, GREENS DOWN

The Greens predicted: "The world is moving away from coal." The reality: "The world's biggest coal users — China, the United States and India — have boosted coal mining in 2017... Production through May is up by at least 121 million tons, or 6 percent."

What Bolt didn't tell you India and China have reduced Coal Imports and of course the major change is the USA as Trump is in power and the Koch Bros are celebrating. However what Bolt doesn't tell you is there is no rapid growth in investment in coal and the stock prices aren't soaring. This celebration is Bolt's stiff upper lip believe me if he were a coal investor he's limp everywhere else. The transition away from coal remains a world target it's FAILING.

As I said earlier bumper harvest in South Africa doesn't explain the worst droughts experienced in other parts of Africa resulting in catastrophic famine. What we see here is Bolt's privileged media platform space in operation only reporting what's favorable to his argument leaving out the numbers in refugee camps worldwide due largely to Climate Change. The civil war in Syria began due to Climate triggers and camps in Africa are due to famine. I'm sure Bolt's garden is in good shape and so the world has nothing to be concerned about.


 

CHRISTIANITY FALLS AS IMMIGRATION CHANGES US

The latest Census shows we have as many Buddhists as Muslims. So why do we never worry about Buddhist terrorists, extremist, hate preachers and bikie gangs? Meanwhile Christianity falls as rival faiths soar, largely through immigration. Is this healthy?

 So the massive drop in Christianity has absolutely nothing to do with the 2% of those practicing Islam or Buddhism. The question remains if the 54% of Australians do identify with Christianity and actually practice it or did they just tick the census box simply because of the way the question was framed.? So much for Bolt's certainty that we are a Christian Nation with Christian values or that immigration is the reason for the lapse in Christianity. He is the example of a generation that turned it's back on the church it's beliefs and values. The single Australian values as supported by our Constitution one is the freedom of faith something Andrew Bolt rails against every day. So immigration and religion should be of no consequence and our institutions are meant to support and reflect that freedom.
 Australia a Secular Parliamentary Democracy and is the only one in the world that doesn't have a Bill of Human Rights enshrined in it's Constitution. It's why we as a country should be ashamed of ourselves at the proliferation of laws that don't guarantee the equal rights of our citizens. If we did there wouldn't be the overkill on terror laws and surveillance of some citizens. Same sex marriage, equal pay for women would have been passed long ago and the long-term detention of children and asylum seekers not allowed. The ultra- conservatives wouldn't have the desperate want to throw out the AHRC which is, in fact, an independent statutory body that protects us.
Bolt talks of the Magna Carta as the foundation of our freedoms but doesn't support the separation of Church and State nor the Law and State fundamentals. That demand protection. Conservatives, in fact, want to change our electoral system. Bolt certainly doesn't believe in the privacy of the ballot box naming and shaming those he chooses to call left-wingers and Islamists in denial of their right to be whatever they want. He prefers the government have far more sway on what religions are represented foremost in our schools and that even Maths and science be regarded as little more than Humanities and Arts subjects rather than given special place. Bi-lingual education is dangerous yet no doubt he's bi-lingual. Strange all these demands fro someone who holds 2 passports yet claims to be a staunch Nationalist.

Fox News created Trumps success in the polls by giving Trump almost if not more than twice the airtime than any other nominee. Roger Ailes isn't stupid he'd take Trumps money and encourage him to spend more. However Murdoch and Ailes bat for the Republicans. Trump burnt himself at the Republican debate by declaring not to guarantee to run as an independent if he wasn't their nominee.

In no way did Trump insult Megyn Kelly during the debate that for starters was Bolt Bull. Whatever he said after to other media is another kettle of fish. But he didn't do it during the debate. What Trump did say during the debate was how easily politicians can be bought and made dance through hoops by oligarchs like himself. In fact they were all there singing and dancing to Murdoch and Roger Ailes's tune. One thing is certain however Ted Cruz Bolt's favorite didn't win the night.

Bolt is feigning blistering anger particularly over something Trump didn't say and if these are Bolt's imaginings they are thoughts from the gutter. It's where we often see Bolt play. Trump did point out just how rehearsed Kelly's questions were and questions she didn't initiate. All she was doing was reading from a script which was the truth. It's much the same as you find Andrew Bolt each Sunday on the Bolt Report the plastic fantastic. I don't think Bolt was offended by Trump downgrading Kelly it was more to do with the fact he was downgrading Fox News.

The electorate certainly is anti carbon emissions and pro Renewables, is pro same sex marriage and pro recognition. If Abbott  believes these are vote winning issues he seems to have lost the plot. He's PM and our leader employed to give us service and not just service us at every opportunity.

Shorten faces new grilling as investigators dig

Since the airing of the 60 Minutes Ashby interview the murk of conservative gutter politics, with regard to the Ashby/Slipper Affair, has worsened.
James Ashby has left himself open to charges of perjury and Mal Brough (a private citizen at the time) has all but confessed that he incited Ashby to steal Slipper’s diary.

Coalition gutter inhabitant Christopher Pyne has contradicted himself in saying that he had no direct knowledge of Ashby’s accusations other than what he read in the papers. Yet it is alleged he had a meeting with him to discuss the matter and might have offered him some form of job security.
He confirmed that he raised a possible Coalition win at the Queensland 2012 and federal 2013 elections as chances for Mr Ashby to secure a new job.
 Why did channel nine wait until September 7 to air the interview? It could have done so while parliament was sitting. Questions would have had to be answered especially by Brough and Pyne.
Had they aired it a week earlier, on Sunday 31 August, it would have been at the start of a Parliamentary sitting week.It has been suggested that Ashby was paid $100,000 for the interview.

 Labor backbencher Graham Perret has asked the AFP to urgently investigate the case. It is difficult to imagine they wouldn’t given Brough’s confession on 60 Minutes:

“I would urge the Australian Federal Police to proceed with its investigation immediately, especially given the risk of disappearance for vital evidence.”

 Victorian Labor MP Michael Danby, has said he will ask the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions to examine whether Mr Ashby has perjured himself by changing his story on whether he was offered any incentives to make a sexual harassment claim against his then boss Mr Slipper.
Mr Danby said:

“Taking him at his word, James Ashby claims to have been induced by Liberal MPs into making his sordid claims against Peter Slipper. What he told 60 Minutes last night about these alleged inducements directly contradicts what Mr Ashby put on oath in a sworn affidavit?”

Let’s take a few steps backwards and look at the sequence of events.

Sexual harassment claims were made by Ashby against Slipper. Justice Rares found that it was a vexatious claim and that its real purpose was to bring down the Speaker and cause as much havoc as possible to the minority government.
Later his judgement was overturned by the full court in a split decision and as a consequence we had two judges saying it was more to do with law than politics and two others saying the opposite. The appeal court determined that it should go to court to be sorted out. But then Ashby withdrew making a mockery of the court’s decision. It has always been about power and the price conservatives place on it. In this case they were even prepared to subvert our democracy to obtain it.

Both Pyne and Abbott insist they had no specific knowledge of the events but both are contradictory and by inference say they had a general knowledge. We need to know exactly what that was. Abbott for example needs to explain the mystery of how a press release calling for Slipper’s resignations was on the streets the moment the Telegraph went to press with the story. Metadata records even suggest that the press release was prepared prior to the Telegraph story. Remember the Telegraph was leading the media charge.Why is there is an application from June for the Commonwealth to pay $1 million for Ashby’s legal costs.
