Morrison and Putin are Media Pornographers cut from the same cloth.

Andrew Bolt actually posted today on his blog that Wokeness just might win the culture war being fought against the bigger conservative Russian army. What he’s unable to say however, is that Putin, in who he actually believes, is on his side of righteousness in the current situation.

Putin like Bolt is anti- LGBTQIs, anti-multiculturalism, anti- critical theory, anti-feminist , a racist, a religious discriminator, anti- Climate Change, and an ultra-white orthodox Christian Nationalist, a Trumpster who admires pay for comment Fox News and hates real journalists. Bolt is totally anti-Woke, and therefore so pro-Putin. In fact the LNP all are and dream of the day when they too had Putin's control over this country.

Wokeness is just the newest boogie man hiding under the bed of every conservative commentator. But like all boogie men, if you shine a light on them, you quickly find out there’s nothing there. All you’re left with is a frightened child with an overactive imagination who’s too scared to go to sleep.

Delving into the dark corners of internet conspiracy cults

I’ve made this point on The Week on Wednesday numerous times - people seem to still believe there is a vast civil service out there that government employs to solve problems in a crisis - there isn’t. The Liberals have spent years gutting it.
The cuts to the public service the Liberals make with such zeal are cuts to public services. Outsourcing to private enterprise means noone turns up unless there’s an opportunity to make a profit.
When the Liberals talk about “cutting …

When announcing the industry levy, ASIC said it was to ‘recover the regulatory costs of the ASIC through annual levies and fees-for-service’.

Last financial year, ASIC collected $314.5m via the industry levy — almost three-quarters of its $437m total operating cost.

The Federal Government’s record-breaking $1.078bn profit from ASIC came in the same year that ASIC’s two Federal Coalition-appointed executives were forced to resign in a major expenses scandal.

Both ASIC chair James Shipton – a former senior executive with notorious global investment bank Goldman Sachs – and Daniel Crennan QC, a Melbourne barrister, were illegally paid almost $200,000 more than they were entitled to.

Treasurer Frydenberg announced a “review” into the scandal, but, as previously revealed, he released a doctored version of the subsequent report, from which three-quarters of its key findings had been secretly deleted.

Despite the severity of the situation – a cover-up of corruption at the top of the corporate regulator involving the nation’s Treasurer – not one other media outlet has reported the scandal to date.

What if We Actually Taxed the Rich? | Robert Reich; News Corp and Andrew Bolt's ratings smashed by podcast done in a shed;

YOU GUYS! YOU AMAZING PEOPLE! Yesterday, I was talking about how our news/politics podcast
The Week on Wednesday
was only 8 places behind Andrew Bolt’s in Australia’s podcast news rankings...

It was POWERFUL DREAM to beat him, to shatter the Rupert-Murdoch-sponsored *illusion* that Australia is a right-wing place that wants right wing news. Turns out, YOU BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL HUMANS, that it really can be done! People really *do* want news diversity. Look!

WE’RE SMASHING HIM!

Despite the massive budget and financial backing the automatants have

I literally did the “Please listen to our podcast, let’s beat Bolt” post YESTERDAY, and you guys *came through*, and then some! (When I did the post, I was like “if we keep getting the word out, maybe we’ll edge him out in 4-6 months”!!).

Overnight, not only has our little podcast beaten Bolt, but also Paul Murray, Peta Credlin and even (not pictured) the deplorable Steve Bannon (who has a disturbingly large following in Australia, we will have to talk about this later).

Ben and I are SO grateful to enjoy your support for the show that we do in our shed (!), and we really hope you stick with us from here so we can CRUSH THE BAD GUYS every week, and actually have a popular, progressive discussion about what’s going on in our country and the world.

In the meantime, best Easter ever. Eat ALL the eggs.

And if you want to give the Week on Wednesday a listen...

Here on Android: https://bit.ly/3mkbfTJ

And we’re also on Spotify and YOU ARE THE BEST.

Eat their dust Mr Bolt. But should we be surprised after all Bolt's personal self produced podcast with son Dom lasted 5 episodes. He went running back to daddy Rupert's safe house and mega-bucks.

Conflict drives engagement and ratings, so it should be no surprise that media coverage is framing President Joe Biden's infrastructure bill as controversial. "Biden's Infrastructure Plan Meets Skepticism, Signaling Fight to Come," reads the New York Times headline. "Biden's infrastructure plan faces controversy over price tag and design," reads the Washington Post headline. Politico's Playbook declares, "Fault lines form on Biden's massive infrastructure plan."

But this kind of framing is misleading. It is true that congressional Republicans oppose this bill and there is nothing that Biden could do, any concession he could make, that would induce Republicans to vote for it. But with the actual public? Well, this bill is a big hit. It is even a bipartisan hit.

What does science stand for; what does it try to accomplish, and what are its limits?
"Science is useless unless it is in the service of all humanity."
Whether it is artificial intelligence, intelligence gathering (Big Brother), 5G microwave technology, climate change, over exploitation of natural resources, poisoning of our ecosphere, GMO's, and overpopulation, etc., we all need to re-evaluate where we are going as a species and how to use science to benefit the entire planet - not just exorbitantly wealthy "elites" who are instead using science as a means of control, further wealth accrual, and modern day feudalism.
More than ever, we need scientists and the public jointly engaged in this discussion.

CORONAVIRUS: BUT WHERE'S THE ZINC?

Victoria's virus deaths today are typical: two in their 60s, three in their 70s, 10 in their 80s and two  in their 90s. A study notes: "Most of the risk groups... are... associated with zinc deficiency." That's why the two touted treatments, hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, also require zinc. And it's why the Melbourne HCQ trial worries me.

Dr Bolt is the least educated the least qualified and least scientifically minded opinionator in this country. Bolt is still pushing the use of medications trialled and found to be lacking in the treatment of COVID-19. medications that have negative side effects are potentially dangerous to patients while not providing statistically significant results or beneficial outcomes. Nevertheless, Bolt ignores the current research to selectively cherry-pick and push outdated ideas for political and commercial purpose. Murdoch media is doing it on a global scale throughout the English speaking world.
What is science?
science which thrives on healthy debate and discussion to understand phenomena, weigh evidence and find solutions. Similar to public debate, you have the "right" to be "wrong" in scientific discussions. This is how scientists work out problems by not being afraid to try different approaches some of which may end up wrong. But we all learn from their missteps and ultimately find a solution as a result.

There are currently 2 pandemics Coronavirus and Global warming both existentially threatening events which we are currently experiencing as the human race and they need to be dealt with by primarily science a means by which we have come to understand the physical world around us which has become a threat to humanity. The bubonic plague killed half the worlds population and we don't seem to want to tackle these pandemics any better than they were dealt with back then. Rather than deal with these threats as a united front we see them being argued in sovereign political and divided terms resisting any "whatever it takes approaches" for the sake of not universal cost and how much for whom.
Bolt ignores the science which is discovering that more and more younger people are now contracting a disease which has serious long term side effects. He keeps repeating yesterday's news largely a disease of the aged and predisposed who can be easily protected. Far more intelligent medical experts and epidemiologists more qualified in the field are saying that new research has found this to be bunkum and oversimplifies a far more complex situation. But then Bolt's real interest is to confuse create doubt and diminish the authority of real science. We saw how under Tony Abbott the best of Australia's scientific funding was cut and how people like Dr Bjorn Blomborg were promised funding.

Bolt ignores the progress in knowledge made and keeps reverting to the hopes of yesterdays cures not to resolve a global problem but the economic and political problems that the LNP's Reaganism Thatcherism and economic rationalism failed to resolve. They only exacerbate and protect the current flow of wealth into fewer and fewer hands due to increased deregulation, privatisation, monopolisation and inheritance of property and wealth without any sight of their promised trickle-down effect to a more and more impoverished labour force. Systemically their recommended solutions require an increasing human sacrifice and slavery to ensure the wealth of a few isn't lost no matter how many lives are lost.
It's currently self-evident that OECD nations are failing their citizenry far worse than China, Cuba, Finalnd Norway and Denmark are to name a few.

ANNA WATSON SHOWS LABOR-STYLE 'KINDNESS'

Anna Watson is a NSW Labor MP who in her first speech to Parliament said she was proud to represent" a "kind and generous community" and wanted a "socially just society". She's since claimed expenses to which she wasn't entitled, and written vile tweets about Joe Hildebrand and me. She thinks I'm evil, yet I wouldn't wish her dead as she has me.

Bolt thinks "politeness" is the neutraliser only when people actually target or shower him with righteous and often deserved anger because he has a resource not available to everyone. He continually tells us he is his own person when he's an owned person.
He apparently abuses women "politely" when calling them "fright bats" or countless other terms he finds amusing. He has no trouble abusing children either and really believes none could be wiser than him because he's simply older. Most young people nevertheless could run rings around him on a pc or a mobile phone despite not having learned Bolt's "tricks of trade" in arguing.
As for "taking money not entitled to" weren't 12 Liberal MP's stood down for taking money from developers during the Abbott era in NSW? Talking about that era LNP politicians apart from Peter Slipper were all caught dipping illegally into their expense funds even the PM. All were forgiven. Bolt has found one ALP member a "she" who'd love to see him gone like so many do. There must be a particular reason for his focus on Anna other that she'd be happy to have him fall off another ladder but harder but then it's Andrew Bolt it doesn't take much for him to kill women politely of course.

WILL DANIEL ANDREWS FINE MAGDA FOR BACKING HIM?

Victoria's Government is paying fellow Leftists like Waleed Aly and Nazeem Hussein to star in ads telling us to "follow the rules" of its destructive bans. One shows Magda Szubanski playing in one of the indoor stadiums this government ordered shut for everyone else. Will she be fined $1652 and the gym $9913 under these rules we're meant to follow?
21m ago
What an idiot Bolt is noted, nobody has ever approached him to do community announcements unless it's for money, but then they were never community endevours. He hated having to go to PTA meetings for his kids.
Are we to believe Bolt even knows if there are any commercial arrangements between Aly and Hussein? As Muslims, it wouldn't surprise they generously donated their time. Something Bolt the agnostic wouldn't do that's for sure.
He could have asked Magda for her opinion rather than just give his of her but then he knows she'd simply tell him to fuck off!

CORONAVIRUS: MEDIA SMASHED BRAZIL, BUT LOCKED-DOWN PERU FAR WORSE

The media Left smashed Brazil's president for not locking down his country. Here's NPR: "Brazil's Bolsonaro Is Accused Of Crime Against Humanity Over Coronavirus 'Neglect'." SBS still insists he's wrong, despite Brazil now having fewer deaths pro-rata and less economic damage than locked-down Peru. Bolsonaro's popularity has never been higher.

Here Bolt pathetically pushing qualified and disguised herd immunity. He was recently bagged by an Associate Professor of Epidemiology from Melbourne Uni telling everyone that Bolt was a simplistic idiot pushing opinions on subjects he really hasn't a clue about. Bolt seems to have moved away from discussing the local scene to Latin America about which he even knows less and they don't know him at all.

MCCRANN: WAITING FOR MORRISON'S 'GODOT' VACCINE

Terry McCrann on the Morrison Government's wilful uninterest in two potential treatments: "We could open up the economy, and treat anyone testing positive for the virus... We would not need the magical Godot vaccine... that would have to be given to all 25 million Australians and still not work anyway. Leading to, what, rolling lockdowns...?
3h ago
How many times has Bolt repeated trying to boost McCrann or himself by quoting him? Is he trying to deflect abuse away from himself and onto Mc Crann call ing him friend but setting him up as the punching bag?
The idea to treat only those testing positive to COVID how would that work when cases are both symptomatic and asymptomatic? You'd need to test everyone to stop the spread. That's what testing is about. A qualified "herd immunity" without calling it herd immunity and we have Bolt wanting us to be like Sweden and unlike Norway or Denmark still an economic downturn but with a greater death count with 6000 deaths instead of 600 and 250 yet a worse economic downturn.
These political idiot lobbyists are boosting the idea that there's no point in vaccines because they aren't likely to work. Theirs is hypothetical wisdom based on what political cynicism.? Cynicism brought on no doubt by the fact very little has been certain in recent times other than their shrinking bank accounts. However, they and the company they work for is shrinking and fast News Corp has lost $1.5 bill and Bolt's threatened with becoming the no longer needed invisible man.

How does coronavirus kill? Clinicians trace a ferocious rampage through the body, from brain to toes

Murdoch media are trivialising the reality of COVID-19 not just for political reasons really but for corporate  $$ and totally amoral ethics of Neoliberalism little or nothing to do with NEWS information but who has the money to pay? That's only 1% of the USA.

James Murdoch has fought against this since his experience as head of Murdoch Media in the UK and their methods of operation publicly revealed. He's stood up against the families neoliberal method of operations after rather than being the head of a morally corrupt company.  His sister did much the same. He's now better positioned to do just that and like her strike a balance against a dad who wants to prove he can zombie control the organization from the grave with Lachlan the Onetel failure desperate to prove he's a winner and not James Packer. What are his chances after Trump fails? (ODT)

LET’S TALK
At the moment we have so many rabid conservative voters that are becoming more abusive as each day passes on the total lockdown of Victoria. They refuse to believe that Morrison and his Government have stuffed up as bad as they have. Morrison and his Government have failed Australians by not acting quickly.
Ever since Morrison became Prime Minister Australia and Australians have suffered under his ineptitude and his entire Governments incompetence.

  FAKE NEWS

ROWAN DEAN

Sky News host Rowan Dean says there is a sad possibility the economy will be destroyed for nothing considering viruses like the coronavirus may be unbeatable. “History is going to look back on this, and it’s going to look back and be a very harsh judge,” Mr Dean told Sky News host Paul Murray. “On Outsiders we had a Swedish epidemiologist, one of the senior guys there, who said ‘you can not ever eliminate a virus’, mankind’s never done it, we haven’t done it yet. “It may all be for no purpose at all, that the economy will be destroyed, but the virus will carry on with its slow march through. “We might have destroyed the economy of Australia, we certainly destroyed the livelihoods of many many people in Victoria, and we’ll find out in a year or two whether it was the right strategy or a really idiotic strategy.” Image: AP

Andrew Bolt certainly doesn't lead the debate to save the economy he's following in the footsteps of Rowan Dean and others probably his production team and obediently reading an autocue? These two  Murdochians show no consideration for any "common good". They have instead, a real neoliberal purpose to save an asymmetric social system that ensures one tribe only profits and the rest labours for far less than the value of their works. No greater is their mythologising and disguising of that system than taking care of the aged who have little value and therefore see their carers the least paid. Scott Morrison has had the opportunity for the past 6-7 years to do something to change the aged-care system and did nothing. The only profit flowing is to the owners of these privatised waiting rooms of death. The Institutions Morrison regulates demand immediate change not an ounce of deregulated further grace. They are beyond saving as they currently operate and Dan Andrews has shown leadership and taken control of a sector he's not responsible for to be blamed by these two wankers for Murdoch.

Dean presents a hypothetical that says let's do the minimum to save lives based on Sweden herd immunity approach that in terms of cases and deaths hasn't achieved any better success than surrounding countries. Its health outcome is worse and its economy is battered as well.
Given the latest global research suggests there is no long term immunity to Covid-19 and therefore people can get it multiple times and that the long term effects show the virus damages the lungs, kidneys heart and brain of not only the aged is Dean right that we shouldn't panic and do far less about the illness and save the "economy"? Neither he nor Andrew Bolt raises these matters about what it is we are finding out about this illness they still regard it as a common cold from the safety of their privileged non-productive, unessential working stations.

Given that COVID-19 first revealed itself among the wealthy. The world travellers a minority group one might be tempted to say fine it won't spread. However, realising it does and rapidly and that it's effects aren't shared equally throughout society Dean is quite comfortable as a commentator. As a socially distanced and privileged commentator he's relaxed calling for others less able to distance to get back to the work his "economy" needs to function. Further given health professionals can't protect themselves and they are on the frontline Dean is largely asking the essential workers of Australia to bear the brunt and save his arse. Note he's not asking directors of Company boards to roll up their sleeves and join their workforce. He's not asking them to even donate funds to fight.

Why is "the economy" so important to Dean to be saved rather than changed? He's not a productive member of it only a beneficiary what does he offer to the effort and the risk involved in "saving it"? When Dean's life, health or his families are in no way threatened when he's not leading by example why should he be even listened to?
We don't see Dean dropping his mike donning protective gear and rushing out to save the economy do we?How does coronavirus kill? Clinicians trace a ferocious rampage through the body, from brain to toes
